The f4 trick is in bad faith, that wad a debug feature that accidentally was left in one alpha release. It was patched out as soon as the community found it.
It was a mismatch of a few select versions with bugs and problems… not really a fair critique of the old versions as a whole.

This RUclipsr is one of those people that think everything new in Minecraft is better. He probably had to do research to find the problems with old minecraft because he never played those old Minecraft versions to find out the problems himself. It’s almost always the new minecraft players that think that all mojang’s additions to the game are perfect.

true tho, i started the summer before microsoft took over the game, and ever since that happened, i haven't seen any major game changes. besides for 1.16 and 17, the warden is completely optional. mining for diamonds is also optional, so 1.17 can actually be out of the picture. and we haven't had another update like 1.16 in almost four whole years.

Not every new update is better. But the game now it's much better than is was before. If you remove the kilometers thick nostalgia layer out of old Minecraft, you'll get a barebone game with fewer blocks and mob diversity and worse terrain generation. And I played this game since 2012 btw.

nowdays it's just these loud, over-edited, clickbaity videos with megabases, gazillion item per hour farms and it's all about rushing the best items and gear in the game
megabases don't even feel that impressive anymore, back in older versions they actually were cooler, because the game was much more slower-paced and mojang's "one block at the time" actually meant something
back then it was about enjoying the game and entertaining viewers, not about making money or trying to get the most views

Back in 2014, life was all about Minecraft, watching DanTDM and Stampy, and running wild with friends till the streetlights flickered on. We'd scrape our knees, build forts, and laugh until our sides hurt. But fast forward to now, and high school feels like a whole different universe.
Sleep? What's that? It's like we're in a constant battle with our beds, trying to squeeze in a few hours between late-night study sessions and early morning alarms. And don't even get me started on the mental breakdowns - they're like unwelcome guests that just won't leave.
Sometimes, in the midst of the chaos, I catch myself daydreaming about those simpler times. Back when the only monsters to worry about were in Minecraft, and the biggest decision was which game to play next. Those were the days when scraped knees were a badge of honor, not a nuisance.
But hey, even though high school feels like a never-ending rollercoaster, there's still a glimmer of hope. Memories of those carefree days keep me going, reminding me that I've faced challenges before and come out stronger. So, I guess I'll just keep pushing through, navigating this crazy ride called high school, and holding onto the hope that somewhere along the way, I'll find a little piece of the kid I used to be.

Though to be fair, most Gen Z users probably weren't playing Java in those days (because PCs aren't cheap).
