I love that Krauser finally refers to Leon by name instead of "rookie" when he kills him, a clear sign of respect.

I just realize something. That Krauser fight hand to hand or knife to knife fight. I'm have a feeling that mechanic are gonna be in RE5make with Chris fighting Wesker 1v1 expanded even more.
Loving the playthrough,just one thing made me facepalm:

Me:didn't change much from the classic,just knife him to death

Me:dood,just knife him,not only it's faster to kill him this way,but it's also cooler

there has never been a line in Resident Evil that properly captures my feelings about the bosses until this one right here. I had to pause because I was laughing so hard, I’d literally say the same shit if I was Leon!
Just like pat always says about RE bosses:
"YOU'RE A WHALE NOW! HOW LIFE GONNA BE FOR YOU NOW? AS A GIANT GOOP MONSTER,IDIOT! lol

The fact Leon says his insults so calmly mixed with sarcasm is what makes them funny. For example, after a neck breaking roundhouse kick...."😏Whoops!...musta slipped"😂😂

The dialogue of Ashley cheering Leon on during the mini game could easily have been kinda awkward and dumb, but her VO performance is so believable that is is actually so endearing to me. They literally made me care so much more about Ashley in this remake, props to the voice director and voice actors for really bring a ton more to the character.
She still does the silent fist pump when she's standing behind you and you nail a killshot on an enemy too. Plus, when you're on the island, you can tell that she is eager to hop to it whenever she sees something she can do to help, which is a stark contrast from when you first met her in the church and ask her to drop the ladder.
They made Ashely a mature woman finally not a spoiled brat. This one made her so endearing, caring, and cheerful that you feel like you have to protect her. This game as whole focused on being a game and that's why it so premium good. I can't believe how nice and caring Ashely is in this one.
@@angeldelrio-po5no After seeing her "move out of the way" animation when you walk directly towards the point behind her, I genuinely made a conscious effort to walk around her whenever I had the leeway to do so 😁
I love how everyone likes ashley now and finds ada to be mediocre lmao

You can just dodge them...
They ran in the original game, too, but I think only on Professional. They're actually much easier to deal with now, though. Even the knife is pretty effective.
@@alondite215 you can't do the "shoot the legs off and knife them to death" tactic that you did in the OG t'ho and they weren't nearly as wobbly before so hitting them was a lot easier at least for me

That lab section was terrifying with all the ambient noises. And regenerators turning into iron maidens was unexpected as an OG player.
2:03:30 Seeing max line up the double headshot and with the rifle and then dropping the line: "I just got out of the shooting gallery don't F*** with me." Was definitely my favorite part of this whole playthough so far and that's saying a lot
props to max for sticking with the OG handgun. 5x critical hit rate headshots is crazy good.
And dont forget about the laser too! I just finished my first playthrough and I did it with that pistol. I just started my 2nd one, sold the pistol and I'm using the sentinel, pre-order bonus. Apperently it's from one of the movie, and it has the same 5x unlock.
I like that all weapons are viable. Doing some personal testing though, the Red 9 hits like a truck and is very consistent. When the crit goes off, it is amazing though. If you like to randomly hit for crazy damage, the starter is the choice for you.
Did it with the punisher. It’s more centred when Leon aims and maxed out shoots through 5 enemies, shields and armour.
Red9 is the best handgun for Professional mode for Hardcore and lower the starting pistol is the best.
It was the first weapon i upgraded fully it was well worth it beast of a weapon sadly i did not get to use use any sniper the whole game.Just the starting pistol shotgun and killer 7 maybe on the next playthrough i will get to use more weapons i think they need to lower the cost on weapon upgrades atleast the ammo capacity and fire rate those take to much money.
it's neat that when Ashley is forced to shoot Leon and the gun jams, you can actually see that it 'stovepiped'; the casing failed to eject. you can also see it with the slide slightly locked back when Leon picks it up again. this can happen if someone is inexperienced/doesn't have a good grip on the pistol. a small detail, but not something I've really seen in a game.
I noticed this, too! Love the amazing detail they've added! Most games would not have even bothered.
Ain't it lovely when you see real gun details and proper handling? Just a few days ago, I was admiring the same sorts of thing in Metal Gear Solid 4.
Some people say Ashley jammed it on purpose but I don't know enough about guns to be sure about that.

I think that sound is/was difficult and annoying to make. It kinda sounds like the noise people make when trying to scratch an itchy throat lol.
There should be a toggle setting where Leon wears all the jewelry he has.

The final encounter with Krauser is something straight out of an 80’s action movie. The music, the atmosphere, the location. I absolutely loved it. Such a tense boss fight.
I felt the same way about it! Thematically it reminded me of Rambo and it also had the guerrila tactics of Rambo, visually the arena was like something out of a final showdown from a Schwarzenegger movie, and Krauser sorta looked like a cross between Dolph Lundgren from Rocky and Rutger Hauer from Blade Runner.

I love Krauser because he feels like a Metal Gear Solid villain who got lost on his way to work and wound up in a Resident Evil game instead.
When i got to this part and krauser took off the beret, i was like: "Damn, now he looks like geese howard." 😂

At the start she's clearly terrified and reluctant when answering to Leon.
Mid game she's still a bit awkward but trusts him.
In the island she immediately does what Leon says and tries to help whenever she can.

Having the Regenerators become Iron Maidens as a last stand is both creative and even MORE nightmare fuel than they already were.

What caught me by surprise its that I was completely sure they were cut out of the game

honestly the island had a lot of great moments. the first minute seeing the whole island, to encountering regenerators and the boss fight with krauser, just a stunning game in the third act.
Better paced than the original for sure. 😊
Used to dread this in the OG, was pleasantly surprised the island was actually fun in this remake

While the Killer 7's name may be a reference to Capcom video games, the gun itself is actually the gun from The Terminator. In the movie, it's called the "Hardballer Long Slide," and it's the gun the Terminator uses to kill the lady who answers the door, when he mistakenly goes to the wrong Sarah Connor's house. They even kept its ridiculously oversized 1980s era laser sight on it. Nice.

Love that the knife you get from Krauser is clearly the same design as the knife from OG RE4.

There were so many great moments in this, but Max's genuine laugh at the Regenerador with the wrench in it made me rewind a couple times.

This fight with Krauser and the knife fight mechanics bode well for a Remake of RE5
That game was HEAVY on melee combat, melee is what defines that game, if they take the knife further adding combos plus the expanding on the melee moves that game will be extremely addictive
And if they let us customize Sheba to the point of letting us set up her attack patterns it'll be instant GOTY, I remember the original let you make her be up your ass or be aggressive, they could expand that to 7 different categories or more... shit can be crazy if they go all out
And call me crazy but the fact that the Wesker model has the exact same sunglasses he has in 5 is a big fat hint at what's to come

Love how they elevated Krauser from an outdated quick time event fight (that a lot of people didn't like even back when it was new), to one of the best fights in gaming memory, and they did it by turning it on its head and making the fight use mechanics that were there the whole game. It's really a test of your skill with the knife and the dodges, something you've been doing since the beginning. It almost feels as if the whole game was designed so that this fight would make sense gameplay-wise.

Interesting how they apparently retconned Krauser working for Wesker. Here, it seems Krauser was genuinely loyal to Los Illuminados.
Capcom seems to be working on making Wesker into one of the many baddies of the series, instead of the overarching nemesis of the games. RE7 and 8 have zero mention of him even in the documents, and so far have implied that the horrific anomalies like the Las Plagas and the Megamycete are very much native to the Resident Evil universe - the humans are merely trying to suppress them like the Salazar family before Ramon or utilizing them for personal reasons like Miranda and Saddler.
Krausers VA sounds SO MUCH like Super Buu from DBZ!! Once I heard it enough times its not exactly spot on but the gutteral rage and sharp lines reminded me instantly!!!

The bridge part with the guys trying to capture Ashley and Regenerador being on your ass, I killed alot of the guys and tried to kill the Regenerador, but then ran out of sniper ammo. So I rushed back and Ashley was still holding the bridge open. She still kept holding it even as I crossed it. I shouted "let go of the damn bridge". Then the Regenerador eventually got on the bridge and she finally let go and the monster fell to his doom. She then says something along the lines of "bye bye!". I was not expecting that at all and it got a chuckle out of me.

Oh man I was waiting to see you get to this part, the parts with the Regenerators is even more intense and I felt my heart skip a beat every time I looked over and saw them next to me despite me running, and that feeling didn't lessen the slightest watching you play it. Always love seeing your stuff Max, keep it up!

This version of Ashly is one I actually want to see again. I'd love for her to come back in the future after she's had the training and is now on the same level as Leon.

Monster Hunter World was great step into the right direction, especially Iceborne. 500 hours into it haha. If they ever make a World sequel, hope they give this much of attention as resident evil and street fighter. It deserves

Krauser’s fight was one of the only ones in the game that made feel sad. He’s Leon’s former teacher, and he has to kill him.
