Salazar, man, I haven't played the remake yet but in the original by the time I got to Salazar I already thought I'd played a very hefty amount of the game. You still have lots to go and like Breaking Bad it just gets better and better.
Its semi lore accurate, there’s a side quest where ask you to stain Ramon salazar portrait with egg and there’s a gold eggs low key intentionally hidden below the castle by him, and it will does a tons of damage to him to make up the fact instead of showing it as a glitch

It'd be dope if a future RE game brings Ashley back, revealing that she did train to become an agent and is now one of the good guys. The remake made me think even more than the original that it would be a great way to bring the character back.
@Joe C use inf rocket launcher to get A on pro, that unlocks Tommy gun, use Tommy gun to get S+, if you rush to get 30 spinel then the Tommy gun will have inf ammo, that makes most of pro mode pretty easy, then only save before areas that you know will be a challenge, since you are only limited to 15 saves if you want S+
@@Sapphire_Jack tommy gun counts as a bonus weapon though no? I think I might just be thinking of the hand cannon requirements though which he will need for an achievement
@@JoJoSulyvahn I recommend getting practicing with hardcore first to get the armor for Ashley and the chicken hat to reduce damage taken. I saved after the end of every chapter but I believe there are other strategies for saving, you could look those up. Avoid combat as much as possible-flash grenades will be your best friend for that. When it comes to bosses, I bought the rocket launcher for verdugo and Saddler, and for Salazar use two golden chicken eggs to instantly kill him. You can get one in chapter 4 and one from his throne room the chapter you fight him. For my weapons I used the starter handgun, the riot gun, and the bolt caster. Buy a sniper rifle right before the regenerators for the thermal scope. I did my S+ run with no bonus weapons so I could get the hand cannon at the same time. I wish you the best of luck!
@@JTaylor2K only handcannon bans the use of bonus weapons, you can get S+ with them he can easily get the handcannon with the cat ears he gets from the S+ run
Max, you already said it several times, but I can’t help but echo your sentiments: I too cannot believe they actually pulled this off as well as they did! What a wild ride this was! I was a naysayer when this game was announced. I thought RE4 didn’t need a remake because of how readily available it is on various platforms and I felt they’d never top the OG. This was just one of those instances where it couldn’t be done, I thought. Then the trailers came out… and I thought, they MIGHT do it. I was starting to believe. And now… holy shit, they DID it! I’ll never doubt Capcom’s remake decisions ever again 😂
I'm pretty sure they'll remake Code Veronica next and then RE5. There is a huge gap in the story if they jump straight from 4 to 5, with Wesker and Chris especially. It would make sense to now do Code Veronica and make it a bigger part of the main titles. Chris and Wesker also play a part in that game, they now have a huge amount of assets to work with between the models and the whole Island section.
Code Veronica got screwed over hard, it was originally supposed to be RE3 before they demoted it for Nemesis Code Veronica actually forwarded the plot, Nemesis is an add-on to RE2 for Jill screentime I fully agree, Code Veronica Remake has to happen first. They need to showcase Wesker's return and him beating Chris to a pulp before remaking 5 and showing Wesker's death
What a start to the year, two freaking amazing remakes Dead Space and RE4 back to back. I played the OG for DS but not RE4 and I had an absolute blast. Still need to pickup Separate Ways DLC. Great playthrough Max 😊
They kinda have to remake RE5 now right? The fact that Ada doesn't hand over the sample to Wesker (at least, it seems to imply she doesn't) changes the events that lead up to RE5 right?
A bit disappointed Max never tried the Stingray. It does less damage than the SR sure, but it shoots more consecutively and is really helpful against regeneradors
This was PHENOMENAL. even as a second-hand viewing experience. I CANNOT wait until I can buy it for myself. RE 4 OG, is so nostalgic for me. It is also my favorite game of all time, I've been playing the hell out of it. Im going to play the hell out of the remake once i own it. RE 4 and RE 4make are the two best games of all time. I dont know how they did it. I was so scared because even though I enjoyed playing RE 3 make, it didn't live up to the original. But they did not disappoint with this one. It's definitely better than 2make. Maybe they will remake 5. I'd be excited to see how they achieve that, considering 5 is also nostalgic for me because me and my sister used to PLAY THE HELL out of it because of the co-op mode. It holds up to this day but if they implemented modern mechanics and used this dev team, I could see it being just as good. I'm kinda happy they have been doing all the remakes. I really loved Village but they old titles have such a special place in my heart, that I have immensely enjoyed the remakes. I personally think the ending kinda hints at Separate Ways. MASSIVE RANT, OVER.
@@jesusrodriguezcolon8315 yeah that’s also in there. Plagas completely took over and mutated on him on the original and Ada encountered it on the original so that could be a possible boss fight for her in this remake with a chance of even having a new concept design of his mutation
RE3make featured a note that connected Nemesis to Las Plagas. Here we see Luis was part of the Nemesis team connecting the two games more. PLUS the stabilizer Luis gives Leon here looks very similar to what Wesker uses to control his abilities in RE5
If we do get RE5 Remake, I'm assuming it'll take until 2025, and if there is RE6 Remake, then 2027. By that time we could potentially already be playing FF7 Remake part 3 and DMC 6. And who knows maybe even RE9.
Any one else notice the female character from RE5 on Wesker’s screen when talking to Ada. As well as the cave where they find the plant need to make the T virus. Further proving that they’re definitely remaking RE5 1:40:33

@@xarachne8473 the aiming in the OG wasn't handholding. You gotta earn your shots. Calling the original aiming crazy is pretty crazy.
@@PeanutButterAndJellyBros Bro if people enjoy this game, let them.
@@PeanutButterAndJellyBros He is right thought, the aiming in the original was crazy and unpleasant and I'm pretty sure almost everybody would agree . Thankful with this remake, nobody is going to play that old crap anymore so stay mad 😌
First time sitting down watching a full playthrough of yours and man what a ride!! You're such a chill dude to watch! Defo gotta catch you streaming sometime :) Great series man!
Best game, honestly might be my favorite of all time. This and OG I mean it improved almost everything. Damn I love this game.
The intro already has me crying lol
After beating the game on the same day of its release, I was super impressed how good this game was, I had high expectations for it but it was blown to proportion on how good it was hands down the best RE game and dare would say is as good if not better then OG
Imo the remake definitely surpassed the OG. It was like experiencing a whole new game again despite knowing what happens. Masterpiece again
Definitely the best story because this type of stuff could actually be goin on, as far as the cult aspect.
I’ve never had the opportunity to play the original, but I’m thoroughly enjoying my play through of the Remake so far!!
I have a long way to go, but I heard a gold egg can take out Salazar lol
Salazar, man, I haven't played the remake yet but in the original by the time I got to Salazar I already thought I'd played a very hefty amount of the game. You still have lots to go and like Breaking Bad it just gets better and better.
Its semi lore accurate, there’s a side quest where ask you to stain Ramon salazar portrait with egg and there’s a gold eggs low key intentionally hidden below the castle by him, and it will does a tons of damage to him to make up the fact instead of showing it as a glitch
@@TheRealAhoy I know!! I’ve put 6 hours into it so far and I’m only on Chapter 6 lol
I have a long way to go! But I’m excited, I need games to keep me distracted until FFXVI and Rebirth come out.
I have RE4 Remake, Atomic Heart, and Octopath Traveler II right now. Then we get Star Wars this month, and then Zelda the next!
I tried playing the original on a shitty laptop. Couldnt even get passed the first stage without lagging
Same
the music for this remake really is top notch, i hope it gets a nomination at the game awards
I love the music but i also find it hilarious because they all sound like elden ring boss music.
@@REChronic54 YES!!! I had the same thought they did such an amazing job
Seriously, the music for the boss fights elevated them so damn much.
Can't wait for RE5 and 6 remake
The video sequence with Wesker at the end shows Excella on his big screen!
This surpasses the original for me, I'll go even further and say it's the best resident evil game period.
Can't wait for RE5 remake!
I did the whole last part in one try and man I'm so sorry you died in the end. The adrenaline you get towards the end was one of a kind
Omg I've been waiting for Max to react to that masterful ending. I was a RE4 virgin before playing the remake and WOW! This is easily my fav RE game to date.
1:01:40 Tenacious D would be proud of that move.
It'd be dope if a future RE game brings Ashley back, revealing that she did train to become an agent and is now one of the good guys. The remake made me think even more than the original that it would be a great way to bring the character back.
Same I hope she’s like sherry where the next time we see her she’s trained in combats and can now fight on her own.
Been waiting for this! Thanks Max! 😄
Just got S+ on professional difficulty today and completed every challenge in the game. It's a masterpiece, again!!!
tips and tricks?
@@JTaylor2K only handcannon bans the use of bonus weapons, you can get S+ with them
he can easily get the handcannon with the cat ears he gets from the S+ run
Code Veronica got screwed over hard, it was originally supposed to be RE3 before they demoted it for Nemesis
Code Veronica actually forwarded the plot, Nemesis is an add-on to RE2 for Jill screentime
I fully agree, Code Veronica Remake has to happen first.
Is that a new ending song? It's so good
subtitles at the end asked if Leon and Ashley are "all right" not "alright" lol
They kinda have to remake RE5 now right? The fact that Ada doesn't hand over the sample to Wesker (at least, it seems to imply she doesn't) changes the events that lead up to RE5 right?
I'm glad that turret gun section wasn't timed because buddy...lmaoo
Noooo Mike! He knew a good baaaar! 😢
A bit disappointed Max never tried the Stingray. It does less damage than the SR sure, but it shoots more consecutively and is really helpful against regeneradors
I'm glad he did. Everyone uses stingray anyways
I've been thinking about "I'll give you a holy body" for a week now
This was PHENOMENAL. even as a second-hand viewing experience.
MASSIVE RANT,
OVER.
I haven't even played the original game, but this game was a masterpiece in my opinion! 10/10, Action-Survival perfection.
I tried to play the original, but I just couldn't ever get used to the controls.
‘I’ll give you a holy body’ - a pun of that calibre confirms for me young Leon was a big fan of the 60s Batman series.
Yea "Zoink!!" shoulda popped up on the screen when he stabbed Saddler.
IT monster (U3) the other Verdugo and Saddler might be actual boss fights for Ada’s separate way dlc if it’s going to be done
And krauser, leon didn't killed him
@@jesusrodriguezcolon8315 yea he didn't. U there's a 2nd fight where he mutates right?
@@DonYoGi8331 Krauser?
Think so, when ada fights him
@@jesusrodriguezcolon8315 yeah that’s also in there.
Further proving that they’re definitely remaking RE5 1:40:33
after playing og re4 i felt even though it was a great game i still loved re2 remake and considered it one of my favorite games but when playing 4 remake even before finishing it i had high praise and towards the end got bumped up massively, such a great game just thinking about in a span of a month we got dead space, metroid prime and this 🤯
If it wasn't for Adas voice actors and some stuff they cut (few scenes) it would have been perfect. This Leon feels good but to PTSD up and less cheesy. I get it fits but I would've like his confidence build up more
A Code:Veronica remake would be a nice way to sort of redeem that game. It did some really cool things, like the creepy-ass family and Agent Smith Wesker, but was very lacking in a lot of areas, like monster design and introducing the world to Steve Burnside.
I need 5 remade so bad 😂 I can only imagine how good they'd make it.
That name sounded so made up back then and still does....Steve Burnside😂😂
I agree with everything you said, Max.
