This video explained quite a bit for me. Thank you, John!
I have the CFU, and i mainly use it at drugstores, but i do look at the chase offers to see the offers, and to see if anything catches my interest.
I just got approved for the FU! My benefits include 5% cash back on gas and groceries! 🎉
How did you get approved I got denied with a 780 credit score
@@rareclout347chase has a 5/24 rule. 5 credits cards within 24 months you automatically get denied. even if you are at 4/24, you will get denied since applying for chase card will put u at 5/24.
How did you get both $200 intro bonus and the 5% cash back? I only see the $200 and not the 5% listed anywhere on my chase points tab
@@erictao5216you have to activate it
This is freedom flex??
Can you do a video on the best airline branded credit card? Delta, AA, United, etc? I personally don’t really like branded cards since you can’t transfer points but I do like the free first class domestic flight every year on my delta card but don’t know about other brands. Thanks!
You really help understand everything there is about credit cards
Hey I can’t find the link for the freedom unlimited anymore, has anyone else found it?
Used your link and got approved for Freedom unlimited cash back match 😎 thanks!
I'm not sure if you included the 1 year offer on the CIU where 3% for the other category is offered.
I don't see the 5% on gas and grocery for 1st year bonus for Freedom Flex listed on my statement or account
Confused as to why youre calling a freedom unlimited card entry level. I just got the card and it’s not for beginners. You need around a 700 with established credit to get it. It took me 2 years of paying correctly and establishing credit to be approved. I have a 720 fico ex and a 740 eq. So not sure why you sahy that. Peolple just starting out will not qualify for the freedom unlimited a simple google search shows that.
Used your referral link for the CFU and got approved 10k limit. Now I stopped using all my other cards to maximize the points and get all that matched
I have had the OG “plane-jane” Chase Freedom card opened since 2012 💪🏆🥇
One thing I don't like about CFU and CFF is the overlapping rewards for cashback. Overall, they're both great cards against their competition.
Can we still transfer the chase ultimate rewards from these $0 annual fee cards to chase hotel and airline partners?
Hi please what can be better, use Hilton points or chase points for a night on a Hilton hotel?? Or maybe is the same? Thanks
Does the chase flex has the Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver ?
I’ve been with the freedom rise for 6 months, should jump to the flex/unlimited?
John’s hungry for chase points this month 😂😂
great video so my question is what are your thoughts about this comment I rec'd when I had asked someone else about this CFU double cash back promo you mentioned in your video? But that offer is actually worse than offer we have for the CFU and CFF, which is 5x on up to $12,000 spent in combined gas and grocery. Earning 5x on $12k spend earns you 60,000 URs. Earning an extra 1.5x on $20k spend earns you only 30k URs.
the Freedom Rise is more or less like the CFU before the revamp. When I got the CFU back in 2018 the CFU only had 1.5% on everything and that was it. But the Freedom Rise is easier to get into Chase ecosystem than CFU imo bc when I got my CFU it took me almost a month to get it approved.
So where’s that affiliate link to the super duper Freedom Unlimited?
I have flex and rise, rise for everything and flex if a useful rotation appears.
do you recommend for partners to both have the chase trifecta or have one? I got my partner into the chase ecosystem and so I am trying to see if its worth it I were to get involved too as I only have the amex blue cash back (0$ annual fee).
I have the chase freedom flex, I also have the venture X card, but I am 4/24 right now my question is with the freedom unlimited having the extra high sign on bonus. Should I go with that or the sapphire preferred?
Me having had started with sapphire preferred, id go with the flex first, get the year of bonuses, then once the promo is over get the sapphire so you can transfer all those points over. And get another bonus, hopefully a big one like the 80-90k I got with mine.
Where can I get that link to the super duper cool unlimited
Younare the real cc guru
I used your link for the Chase Freedom unlimited last week. It is permitting me to put three other cards into the safe from my wallet. The only exception is that I used the chase sapphire reserve for the extended warranties benefit. The intention is for the points to be moved to CSR. Subscribed 😊
I had a question did you also get the $200 SUB for the Freedom unlimited or is it sperate from this deal
@@Dijyt no. It’s one or the other, depending on the link.
Thanks for the reply, that really helps with clarification
i actually just applied for the Freedom Unlimited through your special link and I'm happy to say i got the special welcome bonus offer! LET'S GO THANK YOU JOHN:)
Where is the link
I can't find the link, can you please share. Thanks
I wasn't able to find the link. Can you also share please?
So questions, I have a itin and got my chase freedom unlimited over a year ago. I've been pre-approved for both a sapphire preferred and reserved. Since I'm just starting I doubt I'll get the reserved this early on, plus I don't travel much to make the best of it. And like a month ago I also got a capital one quicksilver card and I ended up cosigning for someone to take out a loan which I wish I could go back and not do that. Now the question is, should I wait to take out the sapphire preferred or just say F and take it out even after the quicksilver and the cosign?
Wait, they say the rule of thumb is 6 months but more if you can before applying for another card.
I am surprised about the foreign transaction fee both in the Unlimited and Flex, that's a big con to consider
Just go get a capital one savor one card. $0 dollar annual fee and zero foreign transaction fees. Discover it also doesn't charge on foreign transactions
Should’ve gotten the curve card
I got approved for 6 different Case got one and was told I can get another less than 4 hours
Might be a stupid question but, Can anyone let me know if Rise gets the ultimate reward points
Can I get the chase freedom unlimited sign up bonus if I received the chase freedom flex sign up bonus 3 month ago?
As someone that already has the unlimited card, is it possible for me to apply to elevated rewards to my account?
re: the Freedom Unlimited - the offer from your link now says the extra 1.5% is now capped at $20,000. Still a good deal though!
Can you send the link please.
I still have a freedom. I wonder if i can turn it into one of these other ones
I would not do a product change, I would apply for one of these cards to get a sign up bous
Silly question thought, do we still the the sign on bonus of $200 when you get the unlimted match cash back with chase unlimited? Or is it one or the other? Thank you for your help!
Same thing I'm wondering
It’s just one or the other just pick whichever is more relevant to your spending habits.
I don’t have credit and I’m working part time while taking classes. But I’m applying to a full time position very soon, I applied for the freedom flex and was instantly shot down. Should I call the reconsideration line, or apply later when I have a full time job, or should I just start off with a different card and build credit first??
Chase in general is hard kinda and picky to get into their system. I’d advise you have a checking/savings with them first. If you already do, then yes, I’d recommend getting a more beginner friendly card for you to get into the system. Into a feel of using a CC, and how different it really is from debit. Personal recommendation is the Capital one savor one. They’re very accepting of students and those new to credit.
I got the rise card easy, try that to get in the ecosystem
Does the 5/24 rule apply to the freedom rise? Think I’m right at the 5/24 rule and not sure if I should risk it
What’s this rule
i would not recommend risking it
@@ReturnOfGodEnelChase has a 5/24 rule meaning it’s very likely you’ll get denied for a credit card by them if you’ve applied to 5 or more credit cards in the last 24 months.
I just applied through the link and got approved but i don’t see anything on my chase app about the cash back match. where do i find that
Still never got the extra cashback?
How about having aChase freedom Flex and Sapphire preffered, can rewards from flex be transfer or use with the preffered?
Yes
I already have chase unlimited. How do I get this unlimited cashback offer?
Ok ok. So let me get this straight! I personally own the freedom unlimited and I was looking to get the Amex gold for food spending. You said the unlimited gets 3x on everything and 6x on food….BUT it sounds like it’s only for the first year after sign up. Am I correct? I’ve owned this for a few years now so if that’s the case then I missed that train haha.
That is correct. It’s for the first year, and for up to $20,000 worth of spend. I’d say if you’re looking for a food type card, I’d say go for Amex Gold. Since you already own the FU, you wouldn’t be able to take advantage of the SUB for the extra 1.5x on all categories, so there’s no use in relying on the card for food benefits. I currently own the Amex Gold, and it’s worked out great, as expected. Plus, they’re right, it is kind of a flex. Really fun card.
Who are they pulling from
Great video I always watch them old and new question if I have the freedom rise card can I product change to the freedom flex and if so is the freedom flex an no annual card as well? Thanks
Yes eventually. Probably good to wait 9 months to a year and then it will probably be available for you to do it. Or you can ask.
Great question, so I would not product change. Instead I would outright apply for the Freedom Flex. If you product change to the Freedom Flex you will not be able to get the sign up bonus
Just got approved for this card with a $12k credit limit.
Good for you! You don’t need me to tell you this but responsibility is big with credit cards.
Who did they pull from
@@ygbodybuilder3023 They pulled only from Experian for me.
I wasn't able to get the freedom unlimited, so now I have the rise, do you think I should call them to upgrade to get the current sign up bonus or should I just apply for the freedom unlimited?
If I remember correctly the sign up bonus can only be obtained from applying and not via product change.
Love your videos
If you’re reading this. Can you make a future video about if it’s a good idea to close a Secured credit card. Or when it’s the best time to do so. I’m a bit concern it could impact my credit score.
Do NOT close the first credit card account you've ever opened. That would reaaally hurt your credit score. Just leave it open, and do a couple transactions on it a year.
@@fluffzone6100 Even with no benefits? Like cash back or anything? I would appreciate your opinion 🫡
Question about the Freedom Flex. If it is offering 5% back on gas and groceries for the first 12 months, would you get 10% back on when the quarterly categories are gas and or groceries? Thanks!
9% total as the “5%s” are actually 4% + the 1% everything. So for the quarterly bonus it would be 4% bonus category + 4% gas + 1% everything. Hope that made sense
That t was very helpful! For me it's the gas because I'm on the road 80% of the time. Thanks!@@RoxUnlimited
Does anybody know if i get the sign up bonus if i had the student credit card and upgraded to the freedome unlimited?
There’s no sign up bonus for product changes unfortunately. Only brand new applications for a new card.
I’m going to my local Chase branch tomorrow to see if they will honer the upgraded points in your link. I just got the card last month so it sucks that I missed out on this.
Can you let us know what they say? Would love to know if they honor you as I’m hoping an elevated bonus comes out on the CSP and would ask them to honor mine.
They usually never do
@@evanlerner3475 They did not honor it. I spoke with an Assistant VP and the best she could do was boost my new checking account bonus to $250 instead of the standard $200 and next day deliver my new debit card. Better than nothing I guess.
Me and my bf just applied and get denied bc we don’t have any account or enough invested in chase bank.
oh wow that sucks . do you have any other cc? i just got approved for the unlimited and i don't have any business with chase
can a person with no credit history, who just got their SSN get the freedom unlimited or freedom flex card ?
Very unlikely. Apply for the Capital one Savor one or Discover IT
I got my first cc from chase when I was 18 I am now 19. (Chase freedom flex) I’ve had the card for almost 3 months now. can I still be added as an authorized user on my grandpa card? he’s in the 800’s and has YEARS of history with chase. if so I don’t want the card he has I wanna get the ultimate freedom card next. Is this possible? please respond id appreciate it
You can be added as an authorized user but it will count towards your 5/24 limit.
@@barbaraday7662 really? even if I’m put on his card? that doesn’t make sense
I got a freedom flex card should I call to change to the unlimited to get the new offer
Why don't you just apply for FU and keep the flex?
Great Job❤❤❤
Do they have foreign transaction fee?
Yes all freedom cards do.
I want to get the Rise, but I recently got a Debit-Credit builder card about 2 months ago. Is it too soon to get the Rise card? I know its best to wait 6 months to get a new card, but I'm unsure if a Debit-Credit builder will be looked at the same as a Credit Card. Also, that was my first card.
No if you wait 6 months you most likely WON'T get the Rise as it is a starter card. What John should have mentioned is that your approval odds for the Rise go up a lot if you open a Chase checking account beforehand and put at least $250 in it. But be aware the Rise is NOT for people with bad credit or rebuilding credit. The card is for people with no credit or are just starting out.
I had no credit and then in late September I applied for a Capital One unsecured Platinum Mastercard and was approved with a small $300 credit limit. I also got a Discover It secured card and an Amazon secured card. So then I read about the Chase Freedom Rise and thought it would be great to get in with Chase. I opened a Chase checking account online but put no money in it. Then I applied for the Freedom Rise and was given a 7-10 day review. I called Chase the next day and they told me I was denied. I asked to speak to someone in reconsideration and the guy spoke with me and asked me if I was planning to put any money in the Chase checking account. I told him yes, he put me on hold for awhile and eventually got approved over the phone with a $500 credit limit.
I still waited 3 more weeks to put money in the Chase checking account - ended up putting $500 in it, but now I've had the card for over a month and I'm glad I got it. Bottom line, apply as soon as possible and open a Chase checking account and put at least $250 in it before applying, unless you want to take a chance like I did lol.
woah
Jesus Christ, so many Chase cards , which one.
I actually think the "Flex" is better than the "unlimited", even though he makes it seems like the extra 1.5% bonus is better.
The "Flex" gives you 9% on gas and groceries for the first year.
While the "unlimited" only gives you 5% max per quarter within the year.
The extra 1.5% becomes irrelevant, since your saving more on the two most important things for people, gas and groceries.
Where did you get 9% from I only see 5% on the first year on the website
@@antoniomaya4574 9% when Gas or Grocery Stores are one of the categories for any given quarter in the first year. Essentially, you always get a minimum of 1% cash back. For the first year, under the current offer you get an additional 4% cash back bringing you up to 5% cash back on gas and groceries up to $12,000 during the first year. When Gas/Groceries is one of the quarterly 5% cash back categories, Chase offers you another 4% bringing cash back up to 9% for that category during that quarter. Look at the fine print in the sign up information for more details.
Please stop posting about them I’ve been denied for the unlimited, reconsideration too 😒
Seems like a you problem
Oh my! Yes he should definitely stop posting videos in order to avoid upsetting you. 🙄
Seriously though just stop watching his videos and work on improving your credit.
Open a bank account with them do good and wait a months you can get anyone
Sounds like a you problem, buddy. Not to sound insensitive but the world doesn’t revolve around you…
@@IsBeingHello you’re right it doesn’t revolve around me. But you criticized a 6mo comment how foolish does that make you especially considering all the previous critics, glad it made you feel good though.
Dude, CHASE SUCKS UNLESS YOU HAVE AN 850 CREDIT SCORE!!!
EVEN THEN, THEY DENY 50%!!!
I got instantly approve for the CFF when my score was below 700 with a $11500 limit 💀
