Love the video John and I’ve learned a lot from all your binge-watched videos!!! One suggestion is be sure to double check the spelling of any words you put on screen, example off the top of my head include “dinning” instead of “dining” and “longe” instead of “lounge”. Keep the videos coming!
Just got a Amazon chase prime card after getting my first ever card chase unlimited cared ( think I skipped one) idk after 6 months and got my credit score from 650 from poor student loan management to 737 after 6 months and paying all my debt off
Just a quick correction: The Freedom Unlimited has 3x on Drugstore purchases, not Groceries (the public offer includes 5x in Groceries and Gas for one year, but no cash back match).
@@justicelirathe rise and flex are different. the chase freedom rise is more tailored to people who have little credit history and are just starting out. It will offer 1.5x cash back on all purchases. The chase freedom flex is a card with a recommended credit score of around 670+ that offers 5x cash back on rotating categories. If you’ve had a credit card before you might find yourself having more use out of the freedom Flex (they are both no annual fee) hope this helped!
The JPM Reserve is still a bit different than CSR beyond what's mentioned here. For example, it's invisible on your credit report. The existence of it, including your spending, credit line, etc., just doesn't show up. This is useful in some instances.
@jackbanxian If you have good credit and has been more then 3 months then you should be good i would try and get the CFF and CSP or CSR. And leave at least a month in-between
@@turtle1125 Do I have to get the CFF? I don't really think it's a better card than the CFU and what's the point of having literally the exact same card haha (I probably don't know enough) Thank you!
I just find the chase travel portal is way more expensive than booking on outside sites. I pretty much just go for cash back. I do travel a ton for work but im normally in very rural areas.
I'm in a weird spot right now. Currently 3/24 and it's been five years since I got the CSP. I really want to downgrade and get it again, but I have a feeling that it'll get an elevated SUB soon. I'm just itching for a new card and I want the Hilton Aspire soon. I also want the Marriott Boundless for the Ritz in a year though, so I can't get the Aspire before the CSP and Boundless unless I'm willing to put one of the Chase cards on a two-year hold.
@JordanShilkoff The problem I have is that I have a Waldorf stay coming up in April, so for me to avoid 5/24 but still get the Aspire and the Boundless, idk what to do. It's only been a month since I got my last Chase card, so I think early February is the absolute earliest I could apply for the Boundless and make it 4/24. Then I could apply for the Preferred and the Aspire on the same day I guess. Maybe that's the play. I'd like to use that Aspire credit.
I’m pre approved for the freedom flex, sapphire preferred, and freedom unlimited because I bank with chase and have my savings account with them. Should I pick one from those three or gradually apply for all of them? I only have one other credit card that I’ve had for about a year and a half, and make less than $15,000 a year as a full time student.
I was in a similar situation. I was pre-approved and just applied for FLEX but Unlimited is an equally great option. Just be careful to not over spend 😂😂
I used your affiliate link because I have learned a lot from your channel and it was only double points until the end of the year. So I only got double points for 3 months instead of 12.
Howdy. I just applied for the CFU 2 days ago and was approved... for basically a 24k limit. I have the CFF and CSP already, as well as the Amazon Prime card with Chase. Just had to round out the trio and the 5% on gas/groceries for a year gives me a year until i get a dedicated gas category card :D. Hey John, thank you for the great video! If I just got the Sapphire Preferred in December, can I qualify for a Chase Freedom sign up bonus in March? Or do i have to wait 24 months?

This is a really dumb question, but when you move on to the next tier, do you cancel the prior ones? Won’t that impact your credit score? Or do you keep all of them?
Hey John, how many cards would you recommend applying to avoid negatively affecting credit? I just got the CFU in November and wanted to get the BILT card and the Chase Amazon Card but not sure if getting both of those cards at the same time is smart .
It's super easy. You cut up the first one, pay the bill OFF, close the account, then start leveraging cash for your investments and purchases. The only thing that happens when you climb higher on a ladder...is the risk of injury or death when you fall off is greatly increased.
Hi John, if we use your referral link for the Freedom Unlimited card, will we still receive the $200 for spending $500 in the first 3 months along with the unlimited cash back?
A lot of it has to do with the lockdown in travel from 2020 - 2023. I didn't have much to do so went through a good number of Ink business credit cards + the referrals for the Ink cards recently has been insane along with the $900 SUB, coupled with no opportunities to use the points and a previous stash I had from my intense churning days of 2016 - 2019.
How long should I wait in between Chase Cards? I got the Freedom Unlimited this month and would like to do the Preferred next, unless you think I should do the Flex next
It currently shows 1.5% additional on Freedom Unlimited through your link. However it does not say whether i still get the $200 sign up bonus - is it either the 1.5% additional or $200 sign up.. or do i get both from your link?
Jp morgan reserve is not the same as chase sapphire reserve...there is a lot of benefits like insurances and concierge that I really value from the card.
Those benefits, besides the United lounge/no reporting, are features of the Visa Infinite program. In this case, yes, the CSR is the same as the JP version. Both have the concierge, primary coverage for insurance and more. It's a status flex...and there's nothing wrong with that.
Can you skip levels? For example, I’ve only had a basic rewards card from my credit union and have never used Chase, but my credit score is 750. Can I jump straight to a Chase Sapphire card?
Yes, it doesn't depend on only score, it's more about the credit profile. How many recent hard inquiries, utilization, payment history, etc . At least thats what some Chase banker told me.
If you apply for, say the tier2 card and Chase sees you differently, will they offer you a lesser or better card depending on how they see you?? Or would they simply approve or dent your application??
John what do you suggest doing in my case? Chase updated my freedom student card without me applying to the freedom unlimited. Is there any way for me to negotiate for the sign on bonus? And what card do you recommend i pick up with a credit score of 776
That's interesting, I think you might be ok to get another bonus because typically the language says that you will not be able to get a freedom if you have had a bonus on a freedom within the past 24 months. Since you didn't have a bonus and you only have the card, I think you should be good!
Do you think it would be beneficial to have a Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card as well as a Marriot Bonvoy Bountiful credit card to maximize the travel options as Marriott has vastly more travel accommodations? I'm just a bit uncertain as to how the rewards systems differ between the 2 and how points can be transferred and redeemed.
I had some things come up and had to charge a lot on my chase united and chase sapphire preferred. would it be wise to open a chase freedom if I don't have one and do a transfer balance for the 0%?
Hi John! I was wondering when I can reapply for a credit card. I made the mistake of applying for too many credit cards at once and it has been probably over 8 months now and I still can’t open a credit card.

Thanks for your video! How would you suggest getting the signup points for the CSR? I got the CSP a little over a year ago and was hoping to upgrade but read that I needed to wait 48 months to receive the bonus before switching?
Chase has no customer loyalty. Representatives lie to customers and charge late fees for being 12 hours late. Even you have been a credit card customer for 20 years and financed a car and boat, without being late on payments.

Trying to decide whether to get my gf on the freedom unlimited bonus 1.5x or just get 200$ for spending 500$. Yes in theory she’d get more value from the bonus 1.5x but she doesn’t spend a whole lot. She still lives with parents so she’s not buying groceries and not ordering food and also doesn’t really travel. So I feel like maybe the 200$ bonus would be the better option for her. Anyone want to add their input?
So I got denied through the link for the bonus, but I called the reconsider line and they granted me the card.. did I lose the bonus from the website bc I originally got denied?
Umm. The Slate card is the lowest. It's complete junk, and I have had it for years. Absolutely ZERO perks, and with my 815 credit score, they still charge me almost 20%. LOL… I have had this card for a VERY LONG TIME and it was 9.99% then BOOM, 20%. Oh, my 2 cars are paid off, my house is paid off, and I am retired. 2% here and 5% there is not a lot TO ME, to jump through all the hoops. I guess it would be fun just to play the game. But BILLION-dollar companies don't usually lose.

What is hyatt again ?

This isn't true or at least isn't universally true. I renewed by united club access through the JP Morgan Reserve Card about a month ago.
