That's always the response. They demand you care and notice. Then question why you care if you question it. I heard it called "face tattoo syndrome". You get a tattoo on your face, obviously so people notice. Then get offended when they do.
@BeepBoopBaap yep now Disney plus shows a 15 sec warning that you can’t skip explaining that “this film includes harmful depictions of cultures blah blah” over almost EVERY Disney classic like jungle book, Aladdin, Pocahontas etc.
I'm beginning to agree with oyu. I just watched the 1938 Pygmalion right here on youtube. Fabulous in all respects and best of all I felt so clear afterwards !
I'm so sad about how bad Disney has gotten. My childhood was full of beautiful Disney animated films that my whole family still quotes to this day. It's gone downhill so fast. Bring back true Disney movie magic for our children's sake! #knowyouraudience
You mean Disney movie magic where a 35-year-old tried to rape a teenage girl? Or when there was hinted-at bestiality? Or when they killed off people left and right? Ended with a boy killing the family dog? People seem to forget how Disney has always been.
Theyre doing it on purpose too. They literally have taken the movie that kickstarted the Disney renaissance and race swapped it KNOWING it would polarize and cause controversy. You reap what you sew, and their latest earnings report doesn't bode well for them.
I used to think this way, then I grew up and learned about the peen they put in The Little Mermaid box art, and the word "Sex" in The Lion King, and the nudie poster from The Rescuers (not sure if it was Down Under or the first one). Maybe when Walt Disney was still alive it was fine, but they've been pulling this nasty groomer crap for _decades,_ and I'm ready to never hear about them ever again. It used to be I'd get excited at the prospect of going to Disney World, but last time we were in Florida, just the thought of going left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm #DoneWithDisney, and I say good riddance.

Old Disney also had conditioning too to play the non white community as bad people in their movies too especially the kids ones. I didn't notice until I got to college.
@@Ylda1007the main reason the “woke” things happen is because they didn’t have the time to slowly introduce it because Disney thought The Owl House was gonna bomb, so they had to rush a bunch of story plots which makes it look so forced.
This!!! And not the live action/cgi-real-looking stuff but actual and good animation, 3D or 2D. There are so many talented animators and storytellers out there! Could have a brand new Disney renaissance of classics and new but great content
I went and saw this movie with my boyfriend as a date and both of us were sitting in the theater wondering what we were watching. The story felt like it was trying to be Encanto with its story but the characters and story were so all over the place that I didn’t find myself rooting for anyone. There was no tension for the “heroes” of the story to succeed and everyone just felt like a one dimensional figure. Which is such a shame because I really liked the animation style they were going for with the more stylized faces. I remember when I was a kid and Tangled, Wall-E, Brave and so many other great films came out that felt magical and inspirational but now I’m here as a young adult, an aspiring animator who wants to tell meaningful stories and help to bring wonder to children and adults again with this art form and it’s being poisoned with all of these woke ideologies and political agendas. It almost feels like the executives have clipboards with check boxes that they cross off for making sure every “politically correct” ideology is represented because God forbid someone gets offended or feel underrepresented.
Same! I'm aspiring to be an animator too and I even have an animated series I've been working on since since the 5th grade. It's such a shame to see how Popular corporations like Disney are know using a media used to entertain with good stories with good moral ethics for kids, to preach ideologies and push political agendas. Good luck on becoming an animator. Praying for you and for Disney to get their stuff together!!🙏
Amen! Funny thing is,. even my liberal leaning moderate parents thought it was BS too since Disney always focuses on LGBTQ+ (which is very unstable in itself btw) and Disney only likes to show certain minorities!
Well, I don't think is blindness but the complete dedication to their willful ignorance, and immaturity in addition from observation from the establishment admitting wrong to commoners is lowering themselves and they can't have that....unless it's "trendy"
@@GejmPlay Such an Anti-Semite that he greenlit his studio to produce Anti-Nazi films? Honestly. More to a point, Disney lived well past the Holocaust so he was well aware of the cause and outcome. The claims of Antisemitism about Walt himself are as baseless as other claims.
The reason many liked encanto considerably more than these other recent "woke" films is that the focus in encanto was actually something kids could understand which is family. It was relatable to everyone because its focus was on the family and not some controversial topics or politics while these woke films were made to please the "woke" people on the internet and they didn't even do it correctly.

As someone approaching 30 who grew up on OG Disney movies like Lion King, Mulan, Marry Poppins, ect., it's just astonishing to see how the political agenda is being pushed so hard. The last good movie Disney made was Encanto. There was almost no political theme in the movie, and it was genuinely emotional with well built characters and AMAZING music.
Fr! As a hispanic, I actually felt like I was looking at myself in the movie. I felt special. There were no woke ideologies, and nothing really political. It was genuine representation with a killer soundtrack and stunning animation to go with it! 10/10
I kid you not I resonate with Pepa so deeply and it is SO COMFORTING to see her family care for her like mine does. It is so often that the emotional character type is represented only as an annoyance or a burden (or just a joke)

I guess encanto’s gonna be disneys last good movie. I remember actually feeling something and was blown away by the music. I feel like a lot of people could relate to it too. The family member who has too much on their plate, the one people expect to be perfect, the one who’s always in the background, the one everyone misunderstands etc. without saying their names you could guess which ones I’m talking about if you seen the movie and you could relate to them and see how toxicity in the family hurts everyone. I guess that’s where Disney decided to put their gravestone. At least it was my favorite Disney movie since the mid 2000’s like with ratatouille, up and WALL·E

Think we all can agree that if someone went back in time and showed Walt Disney what his company would turn into, he'd have shut it down before probably blowing his brains out.
Disney has always followed the money, back in the 1940s and 50s they just made really really racist and antisemitic movies. Like song of the south, a movie following slaves and how slavery is good. I miss the old Disney too, but let's be real here, we miss the middle part where Disney didn't think lying and pretending to give a shit either way would make them more money. Don't listen to this woman, she lies to make cash, she's a Dailywire employee and she's not in her room, she's on a set reading out lines
Here's the thing: the problem that I see most of the time is that when they make a gay character, they make it look like that's their only identity. Characters are not supposed to be that two-dimensional. On top of that, they make it feel like "you're sitting through a lecture that you didn't really want to go to."
To be fair, those that identify with the LGBTQIAMAP agenda basically are their genitalia. Their lives revolve around what their genitalia is, what they think their genitalia should be, what they like to do with their genitalia and with whom.
Exactly! Why can't it just be something as throwaway as the straight relationships in films, and only relevant if there is a romantic relationship between the character and someone else

I feel sorry for your generation. I was a kid in the 1970s. There was no Disney channel, but there was a weekly series called, “The Wonderful World of Disney.” Every week, they showed a different Disney movie, and they were great! If Disney offered a “Disney Classics” channel with nothing made after 1980, I would watch that. I would love to see you and Scheller watch some old Disney movies from the 60s and 70s - live action, animated, or both.
It's almost like catering your business to a tiny tiny tiny percentage of the population who hates your guts and won't buy your products is a bad business decision... Who could've seen that coming?
I also think those at the top are not as clever as we were originally led to believe. If they can't see by now they are not appealing to the majority then they're not doing their jobs. They cannot still believe social media like Twitter is a good indicator of their market. If their marketers keep making that claim they should be forcing them to produce their data. I note their world box office is dropping below US figures when the world having a larger population usually doubles it.. Yet not for the last few films including BP2. Another question the studios should be looking to answer.
My seven year old daughter saw the trailer for this movie in Italian and asked immediately if we could take her to the cinema. We surprised her the day after it came out here in Italy and took her. We fell asleep. It was a *horrible* film and I'm so glad she didn't see the "woke" parts.

Disney lost me years ago when they decided to keep even their older content at full price, limited the amount of copies they put out, and then locked it in their "Disney vault" for an amount of time instead of continuing to print copies of things people wanted.
I know people who bought every single re-release and ended up with three and four copies of the same movie but one was 'silver' and one was 'gold' (with one new feature that wasn't on anything else) and whatever and I never got the point of spending that money... except maybe as like a collector's item thing and sell it for $400 in 50 years, but by then DVDs will be like cassettes
@@gravetiger9333 Yeah, I'll never understand that collector mentality. I just want to be able to watch a movie when I want, how I want, with no restrictions. The movie was good in itself, but the scene where they were just openly expressing it like it was the entire movie's personality. I cringed.
Personally, I'm just jaded with modern films. Most of them are pushing and shoving "The Message" down our throats and any interesting story or characters are thrown to the wayside or just boiled down to their physical traits or who they sleep with. So, any film coming out is really hard to sell to me cause of the way modern films have been going.
YES! THANK YOU! Brett, I noticed the same thing too. Bob Chapek was basically Bob Iger's fall guy. 100%! People have been blaming Chapek for all this woke content, but people do not realize these projects don't get decided and produced in a year, not even 2. It takes years, 5+ sometimes, before projects get released. Iger was definitely the mastermind behind all this. He left when it was still okay, and Chapek ended up having to take the blame for this disaster.

This really looks like it's right up my alley - sci-fi/fantasy thing in a post apocalyptic setting - but I never even heard of it, until today. I think Brett is right on the money - they did some research with focus groups and realized that it was going to flop, so they cut their losses and didn't spend the marketing bucks (which, generally speaking, costs about as much as the production of the film), so I'm not going to bother seeing it. Eventually, they'll learn to get back to basics and focus on storytelling, character development, compelling plot structure, and dramatic tension; instead of focusing on being a platform for tHe mEsSaGe...

@@paulitastic2 basically it's an extremely average, low-effort, basic, cookie-cutter family "blockbuster". Everything about it is uninspired, like we've been here before. The writers were even sure to include EVERY minority group under the sun, not because they actually care about giving us minorities the diversity we deserve, but because they know that including a certain demographic will lead to the members of that demographic giving them millions of dollars.
@@Kingrich_777 ahhh now I understand and agree with you, thank you :P

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy..."

Who you prefer to have sex with should absolutely NOT be in a kids movie.

Me too.
I have an 11yr old daughter and had no idea this movie existed lol and i am totally fine with that 🙂
I went to watch this with my girl, and it was so weird seeing how they were pushing their agenda. I couldn't imagine bringing my kids (that i dont have) to see this movie, but what was more unsettling was seeing all the parents bring their child and seeing them get brainwashed.
The movie was good in itself, but the scene where they were just openly expressing it like it was the entire movie's personality. I cringed.
I cringed too but that wouldn’t make me not bring my kids to it. It’s way better than just watching Fox News
You gave them money for making thus kind of degeneracy and evil. You’re the problem.
How dare they get brainwashed into...accepting other people. What are we gonna do?

@@jukeboxmillie Why are you copying and pasting this reply to every comment on this video?
Personally, I'm just jaded with modern films. Most of them are pushing and shoving "The Message" down our throats and any interesting story or characters are thrown to the wayside or just boiled down to their physical traits or who they sleep with. So, any film coming out is really hard to sell to me cause of the way modern films have been going.
well said
YES!
Yup, I remember a Disney/Pixar "movie schedule" that was something like 8yrs in the future. It all felt so far away, it only burned in my memory because in actuality the movies were coming quick(not the far away that we originally felt)
I immediately subscribed to you because of you’re tone and vocal impact. You remind me of a radio host in the 90s that actually gives a damn.😊
That's what she was hired to do, she's a Dailywire employee, reading lines she was given on a set. Don't believe her to be a good person, Dailywire admitted the goal for doing this is to make more young children far right. yet here she is complaining about vague left leaning ideals in modern media claiming it's indoctrination like that isn't her point of being here.

This feels like a summary of this gen and the negativity along with what the kids will probably become. No correct opinion heck you can't have any opinions without people raging at the opinion and alot of stuff becomes woke. If stuff becomes woke money is lost
It’s insane some people think 45 seconds of a movie was the reason it bombed
Been waiting for you to talk about "STRANGE" World
My stepdad went with my little brother and his friends to see it, he knew the reviews were bad but it was all set for kids to see the movie so no way to back out. 20 minutes into the movie my mother received a message from him with a simple ‘wyd’ 😂😂
20 minutes is an introduction to everything that is happening, no action yet so what you said literally did not dictate what the whole film was going to be about. At least watch the film and gather your own opinion before saying shit wow

@bastiat Yet a friend of mine who is straight liked the movie as much as a I did? What a shocker, you do realize this movie has so much more than just a gay character but that’s literally the only thing that y’all will focus on.
@@riann7707 Nah, for me it was bit boring. Maybe I've watched much more better plot lines unlike this one. The animations are good and flashy but the story is bit of an 'ehhh' to me.
Brett, I think you should have a “super chat” option in your All Access Live events, like there is for RUclips lives. People who REALLY want their question answered can pay a small fee. There are so many people now that it is becoming increasingly difficult to get questions answered. Plus, you could make a fortune every time you go live!

Would love to see Brett watch some of the Disney classics to juxtapose what Disney is putting out now.

If gay characters existing makes a movie impossible to enjoy for you, that's your problem. It's not an example of Disney doing something wrong.

This stupid movie needs to go up in flames 🔥.
Like many, I grew up with Disney. I saw Bambi when it came out in the movie theater when I was 6. I had little 45 records with a player and read along Disney books. They were my absolute favorite! I could sit by myself and play for hours...
"Woke" has killed Disney and an imposter has stepped in. It will never be the way it was. No more Fantasia.
Hey! Another of the “Walt Disney the man himself” era! Though born in 1960 I still very much belong to that era and saw Bambi in 1966 at 5 and had many records (irony is the Bambi I had was the flint stones one-one of Hanna barberas featuring of stories that Disney already told. Anyone recall the flint stones doing Mary Poppins songs?)
Princess and the frog. Aladdin. Moana all those are DISGUSTING. Cinderella snow white and little mermaid the ORIGINAL were the best
They killed Disney long before they became woke.
fun fact! The original voice actor for Bambi later became a Marine! It was his biggest secret.
@@tedunguent156 this is true too. But hey, we have the memories. That's worth something. Nothing really lasts forever. RIP Mickey Mouse.
What was your favorite Disney character growing up?

Honestly, I loved Strange World. Of course I also lived high school science and Terry Pratchett so when got to the near peak of the film I went "this such a cool way to teach body biology and ANK MORPORK!!!" I called my sister and we debated on just how much the writers read Discworld books before making that little reveal.
Probably none.
@@Rai2M Maybe. I am of the opinion that there had to be one writer who suggested it and was thrilled they used it.
