Faye, as a former oncology CNS, I used to tell my medical and nursing students that I would prefer if they pushed the emergency buzzer and it was a false alarm, rather than not pushing it due to doubts or fear of being wrong.
You did the right thing and you will be learning every day for the rest of your life, so that day was no different.

I'm sorry about the situation you experienced with your patient. Healthcare can be so incredibly humbling from an anxiety perspective, then just to hear you rang the alarm for no good reason adds to the stress. But you know? I bet that patient is happy you cared and would have potentially been saved if he were in asystole like the monitor suggested. I appreciate this type of content! It doesn't feel so curated and perfected. Thank you for sharing your life with us online.

hey Faye, as a nurse I promise you, there is nothing worse than a doctor (or nurse or really anyone I work with) who thinks they know everything. ask for help, push the alarm button and also remember that every single person in that hospital has been new at their job. they have all asked for help.
(ps, I think Dylan is right about the food thing: we should all be allowed time to eat. so if you need food (or to go to the bathroom) say so.)

For the situation you should be proud of yourself you made the right call. You thought he was dying/ died and responded correctly and best case scenario happened, it was a false alarm.

I’m love love loving that you’ve kept up with the vlogs. I discovered you in my first year of uni, I’m now in my fourth and final year and your vlogs are genuinely what you do, not an unrealistic standard of every day life that’s unattainable for most. Especially the ones where you’re still in uni

Hi Faye, in regards to the plastic bags for your extra huel scoop, you could look into the small Stasher bags. They have like small snacksized reusable silicon bags that might do the trick for you!
I worked in the ICU as a med student and one time I removed the ekg patches to do an ultrasound but it made the asystole alarm go off on the monitor but I was standing on the other side so I just thought I’d turn it off after I’m done with the ultrasound. Well, apparently the alarm goes off in the entire ICU so everyone came running with the crash cart 🤡 so I can definitely relate to your story 🥲😂
They sell small pots for portioning out formula milk for babies, they’d be perfect for you to pack your Huel for work, you’re doing fantastic well done Xx

As a baby I turned pretty orange because all I wanted to eat was carrots and they had to cut them out for a while. So yes, it’s very true. And I am very pale with a blue undertone.

Hey I know this is not the Video I am referring to but I just needed to get this off of my Chest. I have ADHD and it is so hard for me to stop doomscrolling I am light years behind my peers in university and I just can't focus . Even though I love your videos and I know they could help me I don't have the patience to actually finish watching them. But the other day I remembered that you mentioned that you use Forest instead of the Screentime app on iPhone. And when I tell you this tip has made sooo many things easier for me and helped me with my Time Blindness thank you so so much for this I hope I can keep up with this and make this a habit but I just wanted to say thank you.

Please make sure you eat on your long days. I didn’t for the first few sets and it just wasn’t helpful and I was less productive. There will always be a time to prioritise patients. See the sickest and then eat something then see the more routine non urgent things. It’s hard at the start to not everything as urgent but you have to take a break and you’re legally entitled too xx

Rogue idea that helped me with meal prep - asking chatGPT!!!!! You can get so specific with it (ie eating for hormonal regulation // protein // incorporate snacks etc) 🫶🫣

My protein do a little plastic pot that you can put a scoop of protein in so that it's portable.
I'm sure you could find something similar elsewhere as well though
I hope you managed to get some antihistamine at work! Especially as the sting is so near your eye, that's quite a thin bit of skin. One advantage of working in a hospital, there's any specialist you want just down the corridor or a bleep away

i'm kinda like dylan when it comes to plastic water bottles, i just love having a new bottle to sip from even though i like my reusable one, it kinda just helps me drink more water as it's a seemingly 'new' bottle
You can get protein powder pots, also baby formula pots which are good for things like huel ◡̈

No shade about plastic water bottles but since he's an engineer (if I remember right) he should look at the scientific papers about the amount of microplastics that end up in them from changing temp in transit to stores, etc. This really really shocked me
This is what I keep saying to my scientist bf but still as soon as he buys one it comes back home and sits on the nightstand 😂 The only thing that works is the glass water bottle we bought in IKEA, now he carries it everywhere with him instead (AND IT LOOKS GOOD).

In the autumn, wasps go fucking bananas. I've had countless of them stalking me for several meters until I can get inside, they don't give up!
If I was the patient, I'd rather you think I was dying when I wasn't and get me help. Than if you're not sure and I actually die. I doubt anyone thinks you messed up. Better safe than sorry and now you know for next time.

Wanted to assure you there is no such thing as a fake vegetarian. You can be vegetarian and still eat various meats. I eat beef, chicken, seafood however won't touch anything pig (bacon, etc), lamb, turkey and a few other meats. You are a vegetarian with preferences.
...that is *not* vegetarianism. You have the right to eat like that but don't appropriate a label that doesn't suit you because you want to feel like you belong to that group. I used to eat bivalves (they don't feel pain, therefore the logic that applies to only eating plants, dairy, honey and eggs would still apply) and I didn't call myself vegetarian because I just wasn't. And that's okay, you don't have to make a label fit you but for the love of god stop changing definitions just because you want to belong in a group where you don't belong. And you'd have an awful time trying to fit the beef and chicken into the vegetarianism logic
