nursing student here... in the hospital and being asked to decide a nursing diagnosis or even just understanding what's going on with my patient is absolutely crazy, don't even get me started on understanding drugs and their contradictions. You dont sound ignorant at all Faye, you basically summarized what its like being a student moving from theory to practice! I love you so much, take it one day at a time

please do not worry about nursing diagnoses, i can reassure you that no one else on the healthcare team (other than other nurses) cares about them
I recently started my first "big girl job" and I've also been feeling the same as you. I'm not a doctor but I still felt like I expected everything to just click into place and I watch others at work that are more experienced than me just know what they're doing so naturally and for me it feels so overwhelming and scary!
Just saw that you still call yourself a medical student in your description. After those exhausting weeks it might be a little reward to change it

My word, your channel is fantastic! I am about to be a 40 year old Pharmacy Student in the USA - I love your vlog. I can relate to the lack of sleep, the loneliness feelings, and just spending a whole day eating/napping instead of...well getting things done - due to lack of said sleep. I also work full time on top of all the other things. Nice to see I am not alone. I wish you the best on becoming a wonderful doctor!

This has shown me/ made me realise that to be honest all I need to do is put some effort in to see friends 🙂 so grateful I watched this because not only did you talk about your problems you gave solutions that made me feel that I could actually progress from feeling down - which is something I definitely need. Cracking vlog Faye! Glad you managed to pull yourself out of that dark hole of loneliness. I always found trying to keep a loose routine helps me on days where I'm on my own. I have set things that I have to do every day and it makes me feel better knowing that even something got done. Those things are my non-negotiables! Hope you're having a better week! x

Faye I feel for you so much. Great and honest vlog as per usual. I think routine is key…also scheduling ‘something’ in the calendar is also key. Be it going to the coffee shop, visiting with a friend, doing some shopping, whatever…. Just getting up and into your routine ( bath, dress, eat, exercise, whatever it is) then on with the day…. Sitting doing nothing is okay of course… once the other stuff is done. I’m retired and have the same sort of issues….. so structure for folks who are used to school or working or …is key. ❤❤
I have been watching your channel for years and just wanted to say that I am so so proud of you!
A very important question to ask yourself Faye is , if there were no social media or platforms would you still be a doctor? If your family were not bothered whether you worked at a grocery store or a hospital would you still choose medicine? If your heart's desire is to not practice medicine there are so many other areas which medicine can bring you to such as research, public health, anthropology etc. It takes courage to admit when something is not for you. Go where your heart is called, for social media is limited, and will one day be obsolete. I hope whatever you choose, that your heart may be strengthened. xx Sometimes our ego must be bruised, so our heart may become full.
I know this message wasn’t for me but I really needed to see it.. just like Faye I’m a new doctor and i feel like I ruined my life choosing medicine in the beginning and I feel so lost like what do I do now, where do I go from here?.. really wasn’t the feeling I expected after working hard for 6 years.
@@noraaa8479 I'm sorry that you are feeling lost, if the message speaks to you it is for you also. What you must acknowledge in this, are the skills and growth you have gained rather than what society deems as "failure". Sometimes we must experience what we do not want, in order to learn what we do want. You are resilient, dedicated, and have acquired invaluable life experience, no one can take that away from you. You only have one life, and one chance to find what your heart calls you to. Life is about making a difference in what we are called to do, rather than resentfully fulfilling the expectations of other people and society. You need to rest and take some time for yourself. Please look after yourself, you must help yourself first, then you will know, but your world around you must be silenced in order to hear your heart. Please remember, we also live in a different world from what we did 6 years ago xx

When you're really well staffed, of course everyones gonna be really nice and friendly haha. Part of the reason people are rude and horrible is because they are at their limit and super stressed. Also, if you have teaching you don't "give up" your lunch break, you should still have a break in addition to that.

First, I love your channel and your energy. I am a nursing student and I understand the process of going from student to professional. Being lonely sucks and it's hard. When you became emotional and cried, I did too. I know that making friends in a new place can be both scary and awkward, but it gets better. I would definitely be your friend lol. Your channel is wonderful and real, and I appreciate it.
Bless you. This week looked hard and tough on you mentally and physically. Hopefully the weeks start to get more manageable. Yeah, Faye - I LOVE LOVE LOVE adding Kraft Garlic barbecue sauce to baked beans in tomato sauce (I don't eat pork which is why I don't use baked beans with pork). Honestly, I don't like baked beans any other way. And on toast, of course. And I keep forgetting that I have chicken wieners because I also love beans and wieners. A must try - II swear to God!!!

Her Faye! I'm a yr 11 looking into being a doctor in the UK too but idk what to do because idk if I'll get good enough GCSE grades to get into Manchester uni but idk if I should look into unis further away from home.
Do you think if I do T-Levels, apprenticeships or something like that I could still get there or near to being a doctor ?
you absolutely could, universities hardly
consider your GCSEs and even if you don’t get into medicine the first time you can do medicine with a foundation year (which has lower grade requirements) or could even do another degree and then do post-graduate medicine xx

As a medical practitioner, I think you need to reassess your priorities - RUclips should come way after your health, as you need to be fit for the hard year as an intern!
