So I got the archerC7 wifi adapter to use with this router and when I use it and I get utterly slow wifi as well cant connect to the 5ghz band and pages hardly even load. Its very odd, I dont know whats wrong. But when I plug my old 2.4ghz in its back to normal speeds. Any ideas?

Hi! There is 1gigabit wan port speed from your ISP, but did you test it? Some ppl have an issue , its lower?

Have you done a review on the asus rt n66u? Im in two minds whether to go for the ac66u or the n66u,which one would you recommend please help lol
I don't have any experience with the N66U, the great thing about getting an AC router like shown in the video is that it future proofs your network with excellent speeds. However, I've heard great things about the N66U.

Thank you so much about reviewing ASUS RT-AC66U, it's very useful. But I have question about it. I can connect the ASUS RT-AC66U directly to the internet cabal or has to be a modem between them?
There must be a modem between them, all routers require a modem connection to get an internet connection.

dont forget the latest filmware update 2021, only manual you can do it. its on the asus site filmware download.
Great review! I'm thinking to upgrade my router currently I have a netgear router it's.5 years old lol. It's the year 2015 is this router"asus" still capable to withstand most devices eg new Apple ipads and the new mobile devices?
You cannot go wrong with this router, now in 2015 and for years to come it can hold it's own.

Do you know if they have fixed that update that crashed. I just purchased this router from amazon. So i wont update until i find out it has been fixed. hopefully it has been since this router has been out for a few years already.

I have a question I have the Asus connected to my ps4 and I'm wondering since I named my 2.4 and 5 ghz bands differently when I connect to my ps4 it does not show me my 5ghz one can I assume that is both automatically? Or what does this mean. Same for my laptop only one shows up which is the 2.4ghz.
It means the PS4 and your laptop doesn't support 5Ghz signal. This is quite common since many manufactures don't support 5Ghz signal, same thing happens for my laptop, smart TVs, media players, etc. The most common devices to support 5Ghz are newer smartphones and tablets.

i know nothing about this stuff. do i plug my ps4 directly into this router and then this router uses my wifi that i already have?

Running at a lower band is fine because 2.4Ghz should support more speed than your internet provider can handle. The benefit if using 5Ghz is for streaming content in your home, for example play a video over a wireless connection on a smartphone to a media player. I know people that run on 2.4Ghz and get 1mbps speed.

You can plug your PS4 into the router for the fastest connection possible that your internet provides or you could wirelessly connect the PS4 to your router, the choice is yours. You can Google search for instructions to connect your PS4 to a router, it's pretty simple.

It's possible a recent firmware update allows for that feature on this router now. Google search might give you the answer.

802.11ac is supposed to support speeds up to 1 gigabit per second, not 450 megabits. 802.11n supports speeds up to 600 megabits per second. Speeds attained are, of course, dependent upon the wireless standard of the router AND the devices that are attaching... Good review otherwise!
