- They call the Chevrolet Trailblazer SS the Corvette of SUVs for the LS3 small-block V8 that powered it, but this modified version is far beyond what Detroit imagined. With visual references to sport-import tuning machines, a two-wheel-drive conversion and 1,000 turbocharged, tyre-smoking horsepower, Rob has his hands full with this build. CAUTION: includes gratuitous burnouts.

That wasn't a burnout, that was a smoke-out!! the Trailblazer is (IMO) one of the most underrated vehicles you can still buy whether, it be the Amer-barra 4200 or any of the LS's motors you really can't lose.
This is the epitome of when you modify your daily driver without buying a new daily driver haha.
And along with it a sheet ton of daily fun!!
You and Top Gear is a perfect fit. Great job!

Taking on Rob as a host was probably the best move Top Gear made.

I love the 2001/2 till 2009 Chevy Trailblazer... I own the first 2002 4200 Vortec Trailblazer LTZ. Love my SUV!!!! Will never let her go.... The SS is very cool.... Tom's look like a very nice build.... He can be proud of her... 😊

You know what is actually slept on? The Envoy denali. Same as this truck but it has a 5.3 insetead of the 6.0. You can get them at a fraction of the price.

Sold my 2009 Tbss almost a year ago and well.... huge regret! Solid trucks out the box with an Ls2 powerplant. I'll have another someday. Nice build!

Love clean engine bays wire tucking and and all that takes alot of time and work but its worth it in the end it looks goregous..... Oh and this car is goregous and its not normally something i would be into but i think thats why i like it so mutch its something out of the ordinary and done well gj

Tried to build my own version of one of these a few years back. Had an 06 trailblazer with a ss body kit wheels steering wheel. It had a standard straight six with exhaust sounded pretty cool for a v6. Eventually threw a rod and I bought a 5.3 vortec to put in it. Went to jail for a few months and got it stolen from someone I knew. Cops never did anything but not call me when they found it. Lost my ss build but I love these suv's. The ultimate grocery getter.

Badass! Only thing I wasn't a fan of was a navy blue seats. Also...did he motor swap it? You both keep saying LS3 but the TBSS came with an LS2.
What did you do for the suspension? I can see the rear KW shocks, and I assume they are the double adjustable. Did you replace the rear bags with the coil springs? I have a 2006 TBSS with the coil springs and double adjustable KW rear shocks and KW coilovers in the front. I have AirLift helper bags inside the rear coils with a Wireless
One air compressor for towing my 1700 lb (loaded) motorcycle trailer. Problem is, it rides like crap! Rides better towing the trailer than without it. I can adjust compression and rebound separately on both front and rear, but I can't seem to get it dialed in. Yours seems to ride great! Any suggestions?

Amazing 👏 as soon as I saw the highlight on Google News I jumped right in to see the rest of the video. I would soooo love a TRAILBLAZER SS I own an 03 TRAILBLAZER EXT 5.3 currently 191877 miles and still pushing through hard. Besides a few minor things the only major thing is a dam lifter that has been annoying me for a few years already. Love TRAILBLAZER and hate what Chevy did with the new one 🤦🏻♂️😩🤬 Great looking TRAILBLAZER SS man. Wish I could get my hands on one. So hard to find.

LS2 out of the factory. Love my 07 TBSS. Once it starts showing it's age, I'd like to throw a cam and get some more power out of it, but enjoy driving the shit out of it now!
