Age of Demetrian Titus and Timeline

- The Ultramarines are the first of the Space Marine Chapters to receive a detailed background description in an Index Astartes article. Though back then their background was very different from the 2nd Edition. Since the "Epic Space Marine" supplement "Armies of the Imperium" they were established as one of the "Big 4", the others being the Space Wolves, Blood Angels & Dark Angels. So, the Sons of Guilliman, The Ultramarines are considered one of the strongest and most honoured of all the Space Marine Chapters in the Imperium of Man, and were responsible for almost single-handedly holding the Imperium together after the Heresy. They are held as the benchmark of what an astartes should be, honorable, pure and loyal. Although they are not the best in specializations, they embody the balance of all kinds of warfare. With such honor and glory in their name, one can only imagine the pressure & expectations the individual astartes of the chapter have to uphold. And so this brings us to the Space marine we are discussing today. Demetrian Titus of the Ultramarines. We shall take a look at his origins, his battle experience, his strange anti warp ability and where he has been between the timeline of space marine and space marine 2. This will in the end, answer the question of how old he is and what year does the present set of events take place in.

Easily my favorite space marine character he deserves his own novel and hopefully a 3rd game to his legendary trilogy
A game where he meets Guilliman would be cool especially if it involves one of the Demon Primarchs. Maybe have the Necrons be the initial enemy faction?
no lets play leandros but with ending he turn chaos
They gave him a model when this game was announced
The studs on a space marines forehead show length of service, titus has four gold studs, so he's over 400 years old.
200 hundred not 400
@@arthurmorgan4952it was 100 each gold studs, now they retconned to 50 each
@@MyAlessandro1995 Bronze stud = 50 years Silver stud = 100 years
He has 2 of each if I'm not mistaken.
If we go by the raw dates above, Titus is 331 years old if you count his time in "inquisitorial interrogation"
dot = 50
This timeline does not add up to the lore in the game.
Titus has 2 studs in his head for service in the first game, marking somewhere between 100 and 150 years of service.
During the begining of the second game it is noted by his battle brothers that Titus has 4 studs, representing over 200 years of service (so he cannot have been raised as a primaris originally)
It is also noted that he has served almost a century in the deathwatch. As such it is inferred that he went almost directly from the events of SM1 to the Deathwatch, and served there for the duration of the events of the 13th black crusade and subsequent Indomitus Crusade. We can also note that he underwent the Rubicon Primaris surgery and that Chapter Master Calgar has already become a Primaris as well. We know from the lore that Calgar was one of the first to undergo the Rubicon surgery, so this would have been after that time.
The lore in the game doesn't add up with just the Studs
I am pretty sure that Captain Titus situation was a result of Just a retcon. Originally Captain Titus was introduced in Space Marines as Captain of the Ultramarines 2nd Company, but the invasion of Graia originally was set to happen in 979.M 41 when Cato Sicarius was the Captain of the 2nd Company by several decades in the lore. The original writers at the time admit to the controversy by stating that in the way they saw It, Space Marines game was set in a What If scenario of Warhammer 40k, where Cato Sicarius was not the Captain of the 2nd Company. In my opinion, GW taking note (for once) of the character popularity, retcon the event with the Graia invasion happening around 844.M41. In this way they could canonize Captain Titus without breaking existing lore.
Titus is over 200 at the time of graia and 400 during sm2
Actually if he spend 100 years in stasis under the inquisition that time doesn't count as time of service, right?
Titus = the John 117 of 40k and space marines but way cooler
Nah, that's Sigismund. Sigismund is the greatest space marine to ever live. He 1v1ed Kharn and got in a few swings against Fulgrim.
Current MasterChief of 40K?
@@nutbug445 probably Malum Caedo
I don't know if I'd say way cooler.
@@PhthaloGreenskin He took the FIGHT to Abbadon as well.
He has 2 service studs in the original Space Marine so is over a hundred years old. By the start of Space Marine 2 he has 4, so is now over 200 years old as he was serving in the Deathwatch for 100+ years.
He actually severed in the death watch less than 100 years. They say nearly a century.
@@Adrian_Zamora98 Ah okay, thank you for the correction.
He's over 400
What I find weird is why would the inquisition allow Drogan to research the psychic scourge when he's part of Ordo Xenos, Ive notice the Inquisition really miss handles the offices differently, I remember in a book an Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus thought a Chaos invasion was gonna happen cause a damaged ship appearing out of the warp but it turned out to be Necrons.
Well Inquisition isn't a rigid organization like Imperial Guard or a Space Marine chapter, they are an organization of highly individualistic and independent people so whichever Inquisitor gets their hands on something they get to do whatever they want with it.
Great break down thanks
wait tigurious was there COME ON WE Need to have him IN the game too man
Lmao , all i kmow is Vigilus is in Titus resume 😂😂
they are blue, and everyone know that blue is lucky.
Why wasn't Titus recruited by the Grey Knights, that would of made more sense to me
He isn't a psyker, grey knights are usually very powerful psykers
@youaresociety4035 gotcha, I just figured with the circumstances him fighting demons, he might have gone down that route.
So is there a chance that in Space Marine 3, that Titus becomes a Grey Knight ?
very unlikely, Grey Knights aren't trained to be high level psykers ( i mean they are), they are already very high level psykers. So far Titus has never been shown to be like this, he just has an unusual resistence to the warp.
@@theronealmadin1077 Grey knights have different gene seed, not just training and psyker ability
Grey knights Geneseed is straight from the Man-emperor him self.
Sadly no. Grey Knights are a whole different thing.
Sadly no. Deathwatch is kind of a Space Marine co-operative organization under the Ordo Xenos that any Marine can theoretically join. Grey Knights are their own Chapter with quite a different creation and training process, for one thing you need to have psychic potential to even be considered as a recruit.
the ai looks horrendous
True
Titus was over 200 years old.
also LEANDROS will neer be acepted as chaplain after he call the inquisition and not told chaplain. Space Marine Chapters dont like stool pigeon of inquisition, it shows that he has no honor
Leandros should have been sent On a death quest for breaking the codex Astares
@Supergoku-ew9ol then Titus should have been executed on the spot?
@@wintertrooper7918 hell no
@Supergoku-ew9ol why? He broke thr codex several times
@@wintertrooper7918 I understand that but sometimes you have to bend the rules to achieve results but what leandros did was wrong as hell.
Titus is a Chad
A eunuch chad?
The retcon chain reaction to force Titus into canon status is one of the reasons I can't like this game.
