I live in San Diego and have to make only emulsified body butters... and I prefer them for their hydration, too. This recipe looks dreamy! Thanks for another winner!
I made this yesterday with some changes. I didn't use hydroxyethylcellulose, I upped the ceytl alcohol. I used mica with the cool down instead of the dye. I used Ritamulse SCG. I changed the oils to cocoa butter and mct oil. My preservative was geogard 221. I also adjusted it to have 1.5% fragrance oil. I got it to a balanced 100%. I think if you use Ritamulse SCG at 4% you get a lotion thickness, not a cream as with the emulsifier you used. Next time I will try a higher % of Ritamulse, and reduce the water amount? Thanks for all the videos you post! It's been so helpful and inspiring!
This looks creamy & dreamy, Marie! I’ve never tried that emulsifier - looks cool - but I may have to try this formulation with a sub like Ritamulse. I also need to toss a bunch of old carrier oils and replenish my stock so revisiting raspberry seed oil sounds like a plan. Or maybe a sub. My favourite fruit seed oil I’ve tried thus far is dragonfruit seed oil - the batch I bought from Soap & More here in Canada was absolutely gorgeous smelling. The scent was potent enough to come through final products nicely at 10%+ - so I may try it with that oil instead and no E.O. Yum.
I made this again yesterday and it truly is perfect for summer & spring! I used coconut oil, e wax BP, pineapple extract & pinacolada themed fragance oil 🤤😁
Hi, Marie. I tried twice to make a emulsifier body butter and hand lotion and I used 2 different formulas. Both times I've had a great texture, smell and it's feels great on the skin. However both times I had an air bubbles in it. Maybe You can explain why it happened to me? I used blender like Yours. I also used eco preservative, cetyl alcohol and emulsifyng wax BP. Thank You.
Love this video! So off topic but I hope to see a video on making a non melt lip scrub! I've tried some of your other recipes but unfortunately they melt way too easily :((
OOOH looks amazing! I love your recipes, my only issue is that I prefer natural pigments. I have only just begun my journey into making lotions/creams/body butters so I have not yet experimented with any colors. Can I add pure (unsweetened) beetroot powder to any formulation to achieve color? I'm thinking the tiniest bit should give a lovely pink that won't discolor the skin. Has anyone done this??
Hi MLS! Beetroot powder turns gray/brown in a couple days in lotions. You can add it, but it's not going to give you a product that stays pink. Happy making!
If I want to add 1% of a fruity fragrance oil, ( instead of the eo) do I need to adjust the water amount or oil amount? Could micas be used for color instead?
Hi VB! If you read the Substitutions section of the free partner blog post there's a point on using fragrance oils instead of essential oils and a link to learn more. Happy making!
Hi! I live in Bosnia and I tried something like that with Olivem 1000 and ı also used pink colour which is transparent soup colour. Next time can you give some ideas about natural colours for natural cosmetics please. I just know hibiscus powder and Roman chamomile But Chamomille is very expensive. For example how can I get lilac colour?
Hi! I highly recommend checking out the ingredient deep dives I did into both cetyl alcohol and stearic acid to learn how different they are-that will help you understand why a formulator would choose one instead of the other ❤️ They're both linked in the partner blog post! Stearic acid is not an emulsifier, so there's no reason to treat it like one. Happy making!

Ditto on literally everything you said, Karen! Hi from Imperial Beach! 🤗

Love this new format with the full formulation in the video. thank you

Did you have to change the measurement for the ewax substitution?
@@Shyts_n_Giggles no.
Delicious. It would make a lovely face cream also, since raspberry seed oil is 0 comedogenic rating. Oooh love it.

Very beautiful texture....does PolyAquol 2W really work by adding water to oil , as it is an O/W emulsifier
You asked this on the blog yesterday and I answered yesterday. Please read my reply :)

The only time I used beetroot-it was gritty. Next time I will experiment with a small amount first 🧐

Flawless presentation.
Thank you so much! ❤️ I've really been working hard on making my videos better!
Hi! Will you ever make a sort of smudge proof liquid lipstick?
Oh, I have this emulsifier on hand☺
That looks so pretty and silky. I’m looking forward to making this
Hope you like it! ❤️
Thank you for Sharing 🥰 sounds so amazing
Can I use ICE for this product
Thank you for all of your tutorials 😊😊
Glad you like them!
Hi can you make something like groomers goop degreaser for pet? Consistency is like hair mask but more dense
To do this recipe, I will need to have a great night rest lol

Hi Marie, can I add 2% Cetrimonium chloride to my leave-in conditioner formula?
No; that exceeds the allowable usage rate. Learn more @ www.humblebeeandme.com/project/cetrimonium-chloride/. Happy making!

Use Lavender flowers
Why not stearic acid instead of the cetyl alcohol.
Also lets say i use stearic acid do I need to treat it like an emulsifier?

Great video loved it mam ❤️
Thank you so much 😊
Why don't you make with natural ingredients.
I mostly do. This formulation is over 99% natural!
Becuase you cant blend food and put it in your skin and call it skincare
