Its a plastic Swatch with a Swatch quartz movement, and cheap acrylic crystal. full stop....all that we have here is a Omega case copied with their blessing hence they put their name on .Even the sub dials are different in placement and registration . This is NOT a new Speedie , its Swatch that Omega agreed to collaborate with in appearance only and branding only. Its a marking plan to draw media buzz about both brands. It also screwed alot of watch fans and gave a free feeding frenzy to scalpers. Its worth buying and collecting at not a penny over retail. Their best plan now is to put them on millions of wrists like Timex did with their Ironman and OriginalCasio G-Shocks . Then they will help promote the watch industry and draw attention to finer timepieces. If not its just another Nike Jordan Sneaker hype
I think they're cool but I think there will be some permanent damage to Omega's name. I think in 5-10 years we will see Omega as a brand go down in prestige and overall demand. When you dilute the market with a well known name on something cheap and obtainable, it subconsciously makes people resent it and look elsewhere for that luxury and exclusivity. I know omega can be obtainable easily, but that subconscious bad taste it'll leave people in people's mouth's will hurt the value and brand in the long run.
