These collabs are the best.
Mads is the first, Michael is the second, Nigel and Darren are the third. Well, we won - the audience. Thank you guys so much! Fantastic video!
Brilliant video Nigel and beautiful photos the one with the big wave at the end was one of my favourites thank you for sharing your video and glad you had a great time in Ireland with Darren and the lads
Your video is so much more pro than mine, it almost hurts 😅
Followed
Also, I really like those breaking waves rainbow photos in the end ;)
Yours was amazing! To do that in 1hr without a Rick was special... (ha!)
Mads, I'm already excited for your video.
Seeing you running around like a headless chicken and lacking breath are great spoilers.
These challenges of my favorite photographers is content I want more of! This looked as fun as it was stressful
Black and whites is dramatic and I like a lot 👏👏
Just came over from Darren’s video !! Really enjoy these 🤣
Damn that was such an awesome video Nigel and I loved your rainbow shots! Haha I didn’t know we had to be back exactly at the meeting spot at the 1hr mark. I wouldn’t have walked so far down 😂
Dear Michael: Please take a moment to respond to your Fan. A question about LOCATION in your GMail box since 2019. Thanks so much.
My wife and I enjoyed the challenge and think each of you came up with wonderful images under tough conditions. We thank each of you for taking us along. Here are our votes: Best images, Darren. Runner-up, Michael. Best video. Nigel. Best Comic Relief, Mads.
I loved
- michael's drone shots (he takes risks)
- Darrens energy
- photos of the man facing the sea from Mad.
- and BRAVO 👏 👏 👏 Nigel, you are a great storyteller and image collector (in french, image picker : ceuilleur d'images)
I really enjoyed your take on this Nigel, Ricks footage was also stunning on my "local" playground.. the shots of the waves at the end worked very well... Well done and thanks for including me in this challenge... Until the next time and the rematch :-)
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks Darren. Now was Mads shot 380mm or 400?
@@NigelDansonmight need the VAR :-)
This was really fun - you guys should do more like this. After watching all 4 of the videos I have to judge the challenge like this 1 = Mads 2 = Darren 3 = Michael 4 = Nigel although it was really close all round. The human interest and compression Mads added was the most unique and so it really stood out for me.
Love those last couple with the rainbow in them. Wow!!!!
With the waves on the cliff, both the BW and the color shots were spectacular. But also very different in mood. I loved them both.
Yes, the last wave is simple and beautiful.. your best, but Mads is best so far. Yet to see Michael's.
Black and white 100% love it 😍
Loved this collab! Watched all 4 videos. Was introduced to a couple new photographers. Kudos all-around.
Rainbow shots are beautiful. Interesting topic at 3:20 - if you haven't already made one, a video about when to choose black & white versus colour would be interesting. I have trouble deciding sometimes!
I love these challenges. When I travel it seems like my photo opportunities are more like this. A short stop at some location and minutes to run around and find interesting compositions. At the same time trying to take-in and enjoy the surroundings.
🔴 The breaking Emerald wave & the Jagged Peak Seafoam shots are my picks for thus shot.
PLEASE DO IT AGAIN. ✌️
excellent images Nigel especially the rainbow waves at the end. A key take away from this is to remember to have fun and it certainly looked like you were all having fun
I loved seeing this challenge.
I would really like to see Nick Page in this group.
It would be all in one because you are the photographers I follow most for my inspiration.
At 3:29 definitely B&W. I find that in wave photography at high shutter speeds the power of the water splashing on the stacks and structure is conveyed much better in B&W. I have photographed this exact location on 2 occasions and am inspired to go back.
That looked like a good fun challenge. lucky to have a local like @DarrenJSpoonley around 😉 beautiful part of the country. 🇮🇪
You guys are such good friends. It is lovely to see. ❤❤❤❤❤ The rainbow shot is my fave. ❤❤❤
Hi Nigel, I loved watching this challenge, just as much as your previous Lake District one last year. Please make this an annual event. Great shots taken by all 4 of you. All the best Russ
When you showed the photo you weren’t pleased with it gave me an interesting idea for a video. I’d be curious to see you go on a shoot and show us the compositions that don’t end up working out. I’d love to hear your thoughts during that process and then after the fact.
Love seeing you all getting together for these photo opportunities! You guys are the best of the best!
"have an apple" is really one of your taglines (you did put it in your new composition book, so I think I am on solid ground with that statement
I love your rainbow shot ,I love that 🎉🎉🎉
Colour contrast turquoise and green of the vertical shot is beautiful. so is your b & w
black & White for me
the B&W was nice!
Another great video Nigel.
It looked like all of you had a great time.
You captured some fantastic image's and the waves were amazing.
A great challenge.
Really nice, B/W image looks way better than colour.
Home team in front😊
I wouldn’t worry about the long exposures suffering from UICM, it’s all about the shapes isn’t it and in fact, details in the rocks might even be a distraction. I love ‘em.
3:22 I like the wave photos in B&W, owing to the content is relatively "simple", B&W can focus on details, such as water splashes, with greater tension than color.
8:35 Amazing photo, love it!!
Subscribed.
Amazing photos and lots of fun! So great to see the different approaches everyone has 👏
Terrific photos, but I’ve got to go with Mads’ standing in front of the wave shot as best.
Gorgeous photos! Colour is my favourite 😊
Great video...fun to watch. The fact that you ended up spending most of the time in one spot and seemed to get your best images, or at least the opportunity to get your best images, was a real eye-opener for me. I tend to feel like I always have to find a "better" location when the conditions are great, often leading to disappointment. Thanks, Nigel!
Well that was fun! Maybe a new thing for RUclips videos. I suspect my favorites will change with the day and mood but it was great seeing what 4 great photographers would do under less than ideal conditions in some respects. Of course the wind while less than ideal to shoot in, contributed so much to your shots.
Fantastic video. Maximum lens I have is 300mm. Still, a very good tripod with spikes is essential with strong winds. I was amazed about your last photo.
Loved your photos as always. It was really interesting to see you professionals struggle with a situation and conquer it. It makes me think there is hope for me if I take my time and observe.
Thank you for the video!
🏆 My winning pick is Michael's breaking wave with the orange spot, followed closely by Mads first shot with him in it.
Very nicely done by all ✌️
I was wondering how your B-roll was so steady - well done Rick. Great lesson that there are shots to be found even in less than ideal light.
All of you did an amazing job. I liked Michaels Turquoise video as #1.
🚨 LOVE the Clock countdown. 👏
Another great amazing episode thanks again for your help much appreciated 😊 top guy
B&w for the wave closeups except where the rain bow effects come in
Great video and a lot of fun.......definitely your first 2 BnW are the stand-up for me. We must set up a long lens challenge for our Saturday morning sunrise group 😁.
Stand out.......not stand-up, bloody autocorrect! 😂
Nothing wrong with the colour shots, they're awesome! but the B&W shot made it for me!
Great entertainment and great shots from all it was great to see the different styles. One common tread was no one liked the time limit! Guess that's why we are all landscape photographers, which is all part of the thrill of just taking our time and enjoying the experience and possibilities. BTW colour.
Preferred the B&W Nigel and loved the wave shot @4:22 👌 as you say simpler can often be better 😉 Watched Mads Vlog, now off to see Michael’s and Darren’s
400mm is a fun focal length for landscape photography. Great video! :)
Michael's bird shot wins!
While the colour through the waves is great, the b&w is very strong
Nice work mate. Btw your background music is so good❤
It would be a dream to shoot with you. Wonderful as always
Yor shots very grateful i like it very much colour and bw amazing too🎉
Black & White no question.
Hi. Landscape, my favorite genre of photography. I watched the videos of all the participants of this challenge and concluded that as an empirical experiment, it is interesting. I don't want to assume the role of referee, but even though you disqualified Michael, his photos impressed me more than others. By the way, I am a subscriber to three of the participants, except for Daren's channel.
Very nice!
Black and white👍
🌟 Great job guys.
Ask Nick Page about this concept.😉
DO IT AGAIN !!!
I thought that the black and white photo really popped!
Brilliant 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hello Nigel, if you are looking for suggestions for a future video, if I may so bold to suggest the neutral density filters. I believe you are a specialist in this area having worked with NASA etc. starting with an ND8 up to ND15, as how to get the best out of them, the best ones for sunrise, seas, forests, long explores. Would be appreciated, as I said only a suggestion. Cheers
Fun! 👍🥂
Black and white
B/W
BW although 4:25 in colour EDIT and the rainbow ones in colour. So, B&W or colour? Yes
I’m sorry Nigel but Mads “hero” shot is the best so he didn’t need to disqualify you all😂
B&W looks better
BW
