    It's good to see Dave in so many episodes recently. No other personality delivers the straight, honest advice like he does. Some people need a little tough love or cold water to wake up and smell the coffee and fix their lives.

      My concern when Dave is not on the show is that the personalities seem to miss at least one important point in a reply. A lot of us have commented that there should be a talking point sheet so that someone who asks about annuities, for example, gets the same answers that they would get when Dave would reply.

    As your grandmother nothing is more important than seeing your grandchildren. It's not a pride thing it's I miss my children and grandchildren. Grandparents realize that their time is limited with these with their little ones and they want to see them and get to know them. My only grandparent died when I was 5. I have no memories of her. It's important that your children have memories of their grandparents also.

    NOTHING makes Dave smile when folks are on the debt free scream stage more is when they are listing their debt and then they say they paid off their house! He beams and screams we are looking at WEIRD people here! I can't wait to be there when our mortgage is GONE.

    I always ask this question "would you take out a loan to......" For example, when I talked my husband into paying off our mortgage, because he wanted to keep cash in our savings "in case something happened" I said...."would you take out a loan, so you can have cash in the bank just in case" and he obviously said NO! So we paid it off! Lol

  • @Azel247

    1:17:50 I invested instead of paying down the mortgage, and that's how I became a millionaire at 35. Now there's at least one person who used that method.

    • @EmilyLucille523
      @EmilyLucille523 Год назад

      And that Power Ball winner also became a millionaire without the Baby Steps but Dave is talking about the study he did, the ones he’s asked. Not the outer ones like you.

    • @Azel247
      @Azel247 Год назад +1

      @@EmilyLucille523 True, though he's talking about his study to make the point that paying off the mortgage is always better than investing. He's insinuating that if you choose to invest rather than pay your mortgage, you won't be rich. Also, power ball is luck while mortgage vs. investment is about math/risk/psychology, hardly an apples to apples comparison. Appreciate your input though.

    • @alexbernard6220
      @alexbernard6220 Год назад

      @@Azel247 mostly I agree with you. The math is clearly in your favor. Personally Im choosing to pay off my house purely because I don't like owing somebody or some bank money. It makes me feel less stable.
      That being said I have to disagree that Dave is implying you CAN'T become a millionaire except his way. I also disagree that he says it's ALWAYS better to pay it off. I believe he comes from a similar stand point as me. Paying it off relieves some.sort of burden, that's the main reason. Financially, it's not as good as investing, but is better than blowing it so overall it's a good point IMO. Your original comment is misleading though as the other commentor stated. You originally commented implying that Dave said no body exists that became a millionair your way. When that was shown tk be wrong by the other commenter, you pivoted and basically said that doesn't matter lol. I'd try to pick a lane or just say sorry that's my fault I was wrong but here's what I think lol. Cuz right now you just look like someone who got burned and is trying to save face lol

    What does Dave think about the taxpayer being forced to bail out pensions? It's not the tax payers fault their employers didn't contribute to and manage the pension to meet the obligations they promised. That got passed without any fanfare or people complaining.

    • @selfsufficientus49
      @selfsufficientus49 Год назад +1

      We've bailed out the auto companies on tax payer dime, the banks, and corporations like the place I work for. They increased the sales tax 1/2 percent to my job so they wouldn't leave the state. So I will not feel quilty one bit for taking some help for student loans. It was a complete fraudulent system in the first place.

    There are a lot of this that our tax dollars pay for that we don't benefit from directly, so why should student loans be any different. Maybe we would be able to pay for tuition if we didn't have to pay so much in taxes. Can we divert my taxes to attack my student loans?

    Dude in Salt Lake City - take the truck! If they’re spending $260 per week on fuel that’s $13,500 per year. Not sure why they only think it’s a $11,000 value to you.
    If you run your car at $111 per week it’s almost $6000 in fuel, plus insurance $1000, tires $250, maintenance $500, income tax on pay $3000, depreciation, etc. If fuel prices go up you’ll quickly wish you hadn’t.
    Sell your vehicle, invest the money for when you need to buy one.
