    I plan to swap a Vento cluster for a Highline Polo cluster, the one with the bigger display. Since it's not exactly the same one, I will most probably have to have it reprogrammed, but anyway thank you for taking this apart and showing how easy it is to change its components!

    Good morning, I have a question. I lost the keys to my Jetta, and I disassembled the closter and the screen broke. I looked for another used one of the same model. ? The question would be to program, can I do it with the new one? Or do I have to change the EPROM from mine to the new one I brought? Or does it just read the pin again and it will be programmed?

    How about replacing the dash lights? Im guessing they are small lights soldered onto the board behind the tacho and spedometer... cant find anything online

    I did this but I put a High Line cluster from a GTI 2007 into my low line cluster 2009 Jetta. Car turned just fine but display is off. Either cluster is defective , display is defective or it’s a compatibility issue. Thoughts?

    Hello,
    I tried the procedure on a 2005 cluster on a MK5 golf V (faulty LCD series, that goes black with heat) with another used cluster from 2004 (not exactly the same model, but I find the display better). 861 M -> 851 H.
    it seemed to work as the panels fit together, but the Immo didn't accept it, the mileage wasn't saved and the car won't start.
    I think I need to buy a VCDS and VAG K+Can to program it myself.

      Did you use the same plate from your old cluster on new one ? If it doesn’t start that means Immobilizer doesn’t send signal

    • @willf.8617
      @willf.8617 2 года назад

      @@aslanmammadov2230 I don't know what you mean exactly by "plate" but I did exactly what you did in your video.
      I kept the old panel/motherboard that was in my car (the one in the back of the cluster see video @4:32 ) and I attached it to the spare front panel (the motherboard holding the LCD, dial, needles...).
      they do fit together. but the Immo won't let the car start.
      as of the plastic parts, I think it doesn't matter. there are no electronic parts in there.

      You shouldn’t get airbag light unless you removed clocks spring and steering wheel. You will need to scan the codes to see what it says.

    it's such a shame you manhandled the old cluster.... all i have to replace on mine is the temp gauge as it is not reading right... and the reset button sticks as well.
    my cluster was replaced by the dealer because it had a dim lcd display in the middle, i suspect them of swapping the circuit board on the inside, because the "1000$ new cluster" has dirt behind the plastic, the temp gauge reading to high and the sticky reset button...
    i don't think they did the 2.3 hours of reprogramming... i think it was more opening the new one up and swapping the board!
    so much for that...
    but since i saw your video, i probably go in myself to clean the dirt, see if I can unstick the button, and who knows, if I find a correct working gauge, maybe I can swap that as well?
    Anyway, thanks nice video!
    Any suggestions... let me know :o) 2006.5 mk5 jetta tdi

      The old cluster I had was pretty much toasted because sunroof leaked water and damaged the cluster.
      The cluster has two main part and as long as you keep the back plate which keeps your mileage, you can swap the gages and other parts. Yes I asked dealer as well and they wanted 1000$ for new cluster so I had to come up with cheaper option. You can get same king of cluster on eBay or any local Junk yards and make they look similar and then you can swap them. It’s fairly easy and I think pretty much anyone can do it.

    what i want to say is that little baby can know how to do this video, its simple and your video got no meaning at all, why i'm saying that is because everyone can figure out how to replace instrument cluster, all you are doing is moving motherboard to the new cluster. I dont really call that as a programming, I call that as a removing stuff from bad cluster to new one, I'm going to give you thumbs down

    • @aslanmammadov2230
      @aslanmammadov2230  Год назад

      im sure your little baby already knows that not all the cars have security system built in the cluster and not all the cars have motherboard which can be replaced. On most cars you can just swap the cluster and it will just work. haters will be haters all the time. keep your thumbs down to yourseflf
