Great vid. Thanks for sharing. Good to know there is an option for digital cockpit for non MQB models. The only concern is the reliability but in case it craps out down the line you could go back to the original dash.
I bought a similar dash to this one for my Scirocco and returned it, it had all these issues and some other ones! I then bought a version that had a silver trim on it around the edge and it was lightyears ahead of this, most of the issues discussed here were fixed if not all of them and it communicated much better with the car than this one. The easiest way to identify it is the plug on the back, if it is a white plug like in this video it will be the one with these issues, mine has a green plug with a latch similar to the plug that the original dashboard used that is likely to be the one that works. Things like the time on your dashboard works (my car has a clock in the radio and on the dials at the top as it is an R line, the dash in this video couldn't set them and they were just zeroed but this one did, loads of other small issues like in this video also work correctly. Highly recommend this version of the dash it feels closer to OEM.

So nothing happens when I hook up the USB port directly to my phone. I didn't try with an iPhone but somewhere on the product page I believe, I read that there was addition features for android auto but as far as I can tell it doesn't work hooked up directly.
I think what I am going to do is find a head unit that has a HDMI out port and make sure that it has the capability to send a video signal that is separate from what is being displayed on the head unit if that makes sense.
That way I can have android auto show on my dash and my music, etc show on the head unit. I just need to research which radio has those features otherwise the only option is screen mirroring or that AI box with GPS that I showed in the video.

I currently don't have a check engine light some of the clips were filmed while the acc was on only but I bought new wheels and did not add the TPMS in them so I always have that light on until I buy the sensors
min 17:40 your cluster is calculating Kilometers even though it's showing miles...your cluster is for Eurpean maket, there might be a way to change the settings to US

As far as the power that i dont think will ever be an issue since it uses the factory harness. I am not sure if you watched the full video but the gas thing is definitely concerning ONLY as far as the gallons left though. The actual gauge is correct and i should of elaborated on that in the video my apologies. It does not show codes i have no idea why that is not included smh. Thankfully my radio is plugs into my OBD port and it reads any check engine code. You would think though with how advanced things are now they would include a harness for the dash to plug into the OBD port for all the codes. You do get the light and beeps but no messages unfortunately.

I have a similar 10inch android tablet in my old Passat b5.5 and in two years time it just lost performance so bad that it's painful to wait it respond for every screen touch.

Hi mate just got mine done on my 2014 Vw cc yesterday , just wanted to ask how long does it take for the virtual dash to relearn mpg . Just full tanked my car but showing 300 miles range
are the odometer readings preserved? VW/Audi used to have this in the cluster, but maybe that function moved to the ECU or other modules. I had to replace my instrument cluster in my '07 Audi A4 once (with digital odo), and they actually programmed the old mileage number into the new cluster. They actually asked me what number I wanted them to program in. I was honest, but it was easy to not be honest about it. I now have an eGolf. I wonder if it preserves the eGolf specific analog gauges, like the available power meter. When the battery heats up from hard driving, the needle moves down telling you that the power is limited until the battery cools off. Luckily, the car never dips so far as to put restrictions on the throttle as I'm driving heavy footed.

I dont think this specific one is compatible. You could click on the link in the description and chat with the store and ask them if they make them for jettas but i havent seen them. Support told me that they will try to provide some new firmware to resolve issues that I mentioned to them: - consumption inaccuracy; - lacking mileage to the next service; - configuration for brightness Still waiting for those fixes.
@@Toigan scirocco. After fw update it show better consumption data, but still inaccurate in compare to what original dashboad shows. Also sometimes on cold start dashboard didn’t launch at all.

Just get an Android head unit with HDMI out and mirror that. Use waze. Car Android head units hide the top nav bar.
