CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Turbo (Michael Chambers) dances on the ceiling, which impresses his chicky-babe, Lucia (Sabrina García).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Breakdancing, hip-hop, rap, and a good time are the main stars of this standard teen movie about youths trying to raise money to save their community club from being razed for a shopping mall. Ozone (Adolfo Quiñones) and Turbo (Michael Chambers) are two master breakdancers who have started a community club to teach other teens how to manage the acrobatics of the dance without literally breaking anything. Their efforts create some choreographed, group breakdancing that is rather innovative. But an evil developer (Peter MacLean) sees their property as ideal for a shopping mall project -- and a crooked politician is willing to back him up for a fee. As the teens do their best to raise money to keep their center, some are also battling with restrictive parents or trying to ease into romantic liaisons that offer their own challenges.

@Tee Culture Gotta remember Ozone is a pure poplocker and Turbo was more of a break dancer..

The 1980s, an era where you could get away with weird dress sense, weird hairstyles and walking and dancing up walls and ceilings. Great times! 😀
The 2010s beg to differ..😂
It really was an age of liberty and freedom ushering in many new ideas except the old people, police, and county probation officers were always trying to criminalize young people for enjoying rock music, new age fashion, and art. Now almost everything is accepted social norm, but culture is only dying in apathy. Those were the days when you could crank up the stereo and electric guitars jamming out for most people seemed OK with it though a few were miserables were around trying nonstop to shut down music, art, and free speech using the police. Now days one must use headphones as to not offend others unless you own a place with some space to jam out for the cultural diversity and every style from every era of history isn't mixing and meshing well.

the best scene. Turbo was the man

Man as a kid no one could tell me Turbo didn’t have super powers. Both part 1 and 2 will always be 2 of my all time favorite movies.
You know what, you’re right. This guy controlling brooms with his mind, defying gravity and fighting against pop locking blood’s.
I’m convinced
Dopest part in the movie!
It might be dope but tis is all him
That girl at the end tho (heart pounds)
I was probably 6 or 7 when this came out on VHS. My uncle was 10 years older than me and we watched it countless times, trying our best to break dance at these scenes. Great times.
This clip look super gay though
Big Boy Leader yes, homosexuals are known for breakdancing on their ceilings.

The 80s - fuelled by all sorts of cocaine.
This song will forever be embedded in my brain
What song is it?
Back in the 80's movies didn't need an explanation... Total classic...
For those of you wondering how they achieve this "effect". The room is suspended on a giant hampster wheel that can slowly rotate while keeling the camera stationary. Everything in the room is glued/screwed in place; notice how he doesn't interact with anything in the room?
0:30 I noticed very closely at the blue panel of the ceiling under the window on the far top left of the screen that a slit is exposing where you can vaguely see activity of the hamster wheel in action. Still a great nostalgic scene. It was all producer Menahem Golan's idea to have Michael dance on the ceiling like Fred Astaire.
Stuart Otis oh and next you gonna tell me Santa ain’t real?! Get outa here with that man, Turbo for Prez!
For those of you wondering, this is the autistic comments thread.
I just remembered the movie and guessed it with in the first 15 seconds at 43

This brings back so many beautiful memories. Times were so fun, the art of hip hop, dance, graffiti, all rolled into one. This was such an amazing motion picture about the art of break dancing. Turbo, Ozone and special K.... such a pure time in black culture. I miss this.
I much prefer the 90’s.
I’m glad this movie captured such a splendid fleeting time

This scene wins everything in life. No comparison other than playing David Bowie songs in outer space!!!!

/the revolving room used for this scene was the same that was used for Nightmare On Elm Street when Tina is getting dragged up the wall.

The Good Old '80's! Breakdancing Forever!! Greatest Dancing Ever!!❤
This came out on cable when I was 12 years old. Our brother and I dubbed it on VHS. Now at almost 52 years old is, looking at this now is definitely a Mindfreak 1984 was the best year ever hands down
As a kid I was fascinated with this scene, so much so my Dad painted my room in breakdance style with foot prints going up the wall and ceiling bless him 😂
Best Part In Breakin 2 And I Remember This So Much When I Was Young
IDGAF what nobody says turbo is a legend 💯
I remember watching this in the theatre as a kid and just being blown away not knowing how the did this scene!
It's worth noting that turbo is actually the inventor of what is known as Michael Jacksons "moonwalk" turbo was approached by Mike after he'd seen him do it on a TV dancing show and asked turbo if he could use the move, of course turbo being the guy he is, said it's not owned by him, it's jus a move and he was free to dance the way he felt..
I've heard from someone that the moonwalk actually goes a long way back, but the moonwalk was already being done by individual dancers around the 70s and 80s. Michael definitely made it more visible to larger audiences though. Absolutely love Boogaloo Shrimp and Shabba Doo and their contribution to the hip hop scene with breaking and locking.
Michael Jackson himself proclaimed he learned it from Bobby Brown. We will never know for sure. Others say it was Poppin Taco who showed Michael the Moonwalk
I must correct you good sir as Jeffery Daniels from the R&B group Shalamar was the one who showed Mike what he called the "back slide". There is a history to this that ppl during that time verified, now, not to say that Turbo didn't show him a version that he improved on as the dance in different ways was being executed since the mid 70's but Jeffery was who introduced him to it by and large.
Im 36 now and still find this fascinating
I knew Breakdance 2: Electric Boogaloo had it's point in eternal space time, and this scene is it.
Iconic... simply iconic...
The only reason I wanted converse when I was a kid.... me: I want converse
Mum: why?
Me: so I can walk on walls like turbo
lol converse are my favorite pair of shoes so i understand. this scene is so cool though. it actually made me think he was dancing on the ceiling. I think they still use that effect
@@indirasolis1891 Mike "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers also danced in the Sugar Ray music video for "Fly" which also featured a rotating dance room like this. Only recall seeing the band's lead singer in that room though.
UMMM, THOSE WERE NIKES BRO!!
@@BIGDJCUZOSMOKE,
Boogaloo Shrimp has worn Nike shoes throughout the first film, but in this scene, the Swoosh doesn't appear on his shoes, so they're likely to be Converse shoes.
I tried those moves....especially the wall scene.....but ummmmmmmm failed. Classic movie that steered a generation to break dancing
You fell "Off the wall"
I love these old movies
The 80’s was just epic!
Now THIS is dancing
Just saw this on the TV during break at work today. Where have you been all my life, movie?
Breakdance 2 Electric Boogaloo
No doubt, Fred Astaire was a genius. Love his movies.
One of my fav movies.. Both of them. Saw them both in the theaters. Fed my 7 year old NY suburban love of rap and breakdance culture. No regrets ♥
So this is the “boogaloo” that the feds are so afraid of? Lol
Just take me back already!
Amen!!!
@Dirty Hawk Yep!💥
Sometimes I hate when I'm breakdancing and I'm suddenly breakdancing on the ceiling
The man is on the ceiling, and the woman looks up at the man on the ceiling.
This is an idea added to Fred Astaire's "Royal Wedding".
Fred Astaire dances alone in the room.
And Boogaloo Shrimp took this idea from the horror movie "The Thing".
@@takashi6302 That is what Sam Firstenberg mentions (Fred Astaire) in his interview. Lionel Richie also did it with Dancing on the Ceiling.
Such an Iconic Scene.

Damn, that girl is smokin hot
Yeah she is, or was. LOL. I was hoping to see more of her, but she only had starred in two films.
Sabrina Garcia, so beautiful. She fell away from the limelight unfortunately.
Damn straight!

Gregory Feazell I ageee damn I can’t believe that was the 80s wow
Look this scene was absolutely epic because when I saw this in 1987 I was 5 years old. For a 5 year old in 1987 this was the coolest thing I had ever seen. Plus break dancing was at its pinnacle at the time. Everyone who saw this as a kid understands what I'm talking about. One of the coolest scenes ever in a dance movie. Probably doesn't hold up with time but it's all about nostalgia at this point
The best 80,s
This dude walks like this across his kitchen every time he goes to the fridge...
This scene and this song totally ignited an obsession with music and dance in 8 year old me. It still gets my heart racing when I hear it.
Plus I was in love with Turbo, so there was that...
I wish all i had to do was say YES and my radio turned on
That was the 80's, today you'd say "Alexa"
I'm 41 years old right now and this scene along with his broom scene from the first Breakin is magical still magical and phenomenal to me even though I know how they did em both!! My 2 kids....daughter is 15 now and my son is 7.....I put them on both of these movies as well as Michael Jackson movies and videos as well as Prince.....and alot of other great artists as well and they both love and appreciate them all!
Memories, memories good times
This scene, the music, the execution, is highly underrated. Maybe you hate dancing, but this was very cool in set-up and delivery.
Yeah! The spanish honey is FINE!!!!! And Another great solo dance scene for Turbo who was way better than Ozone! Too bad this movie just didn't feel as real as the first one which I still love to this day...
This film had a bigger budget, so it wasn't gonna be as gritty.. plus, remember the TKO crew blew up at the end of Breakin 1 and became stars of their own show tour. They didn't have to live on the streets and work at liquor stores anymore.
