This movie was not cheesy and will never be!!!! The talent is incredible....Look at the talent and the dancing...It can never be cheesy!!!!! This movie is a legend and it's legacy lives forever and ever!!!
This movie and its actors kicked in nearly 4 decades ago and now I've got a tears in my eyes nostalgia rush. Watching it over and over on my VHS into the 90's. Classic film. Classic dancers.
When they hugged at the end and you saw the raw emotion on Ozone's face almost brought me to tears. You can tell this wasn't just a movie but a movement and a new wave of dance. A couple of quote on quote "street dancers" help define a generation!!!!! RESPECT.
This clip is entertaining and inspiring. He wanted their moment to shine and to prove their talent. And not to be denied. They danced their hearts out and were appreciated. I love the celebration when they finally made it.
Eyes water.....🙏🏾Blessings to you and your family. God may have needed her and with all of the warmth and love she gave you and your family, God has just received one of the best Christmas gifts ever. Stay strong and know she is watching over you!🙏🏾....and don't count her out, she might be showing Shabba doo a thing or 2!
80s kid here! I found the 90s were when it started being cool to hate on anything popular. Hence grunge and flannel and the slow spin down the bowl ever since for the most part. 80's Pop culture will never come again.. but if it does I'll there! Just my 2 cents.
I was born in 1984 in away I wish I have been older to experience this first hand in my opinion the last great decade for culture after the 80's things became diluted the 90's for the first 4 years was a hangover because the 80s was that good that's my opinion of course.
I used to do all that crazy breakdancing myself back in the 80's too. Can't do it anymore. I TOTALLY MISS MY YOUTH!!! I hope that I can dance like this again when I get to HEAVEN!!!
Rest in Heaven Aldolfo Shabba Doo Quinone. he was a great dancer I enjoyed watching you do your thing on Soul Train with the Lockers and the Breakin & Breakin 2 electric Boogaloo movies.
Gotta love those 80s movies! I saw this when it first came out, the theatre was packed and people were seeing this movie 2 & 3 times! Wish I had a time machine I'd go back to the 80s and stay there!
Special k left her dance friends to rock with them. Turbo was just happy dancing in the streets. They both sacrificed to help their friend ozone get to his dream. Awesome
I love this scene! It shows that talent and perseverance pays off. I even love the emotional scene when they hug each other because they realize they have won over adversity.
Yea only ozone amd turbo won, Kelly wasn't facing no adversity, she was just a rich girl trying to be street, but whites always gotta put that white savior role in urban stories and I get it, they never would've got that close without Kelly, so we take the good with the bad
Best part of the clip is when they share a hug at the end of the dance... there was true emotion between the three of them; that's a big part of why these cheesy, weak plot driven movies were successful. I watch them to this day because of the bond these three stars displayed. Great Job, people. RIP to Ozone... He was incredible; My Mother would watch the opening of Dance Fever because he danced every week... He will be missed. My Mother is also gone... life...
A prime example on how the inner city youths have always been stigmatized by those in power, and what happens when the opportunity/chance is granted to look beyond the implicit biases. Black athletes are also a huge example of this phenomena. The Writers/Producers of this movie were way ahead of their time. I'm proud to be a contributor to this movie, and part of a movement.
Anyone that doesn't like this movie or part 2 is just too young to know better . Hell everyone in the 80's loved this stuff . Sure the movie is cheesy but it was fun . The music was great . A lot than most of the crap that comes out now
pcolabrian34 I still live this world all these years later movies are two violent and sexual! If you like this you will love Beat Street Breakdancing forever!
Breakdancers in the Malls... The future really sucks. lol The young people today are so confused and so lost... Worrying about Climate change to Shooting people down in public. Where is the time machine already!
I loved the costumes they had for this scene.. Something tells me that this was probably the last scene they filmed for this movie and those three hugging and crying.. Those are probably real tears of joy as three under rated new actors were given one of the biggest chances of their lives. They made a movie that would be seen by millions and millions of people for years to come and were helping introduce a more open mind for dancing.
OH.. Oh my. I didn't realize Ozone, Shabba Doo had passed. If you all want to see him in one of his earliest roles, you'll have to watch Xanadu and look for him in the final scene. I was like, "Wow! That's Ozone!"
Wow. I just read on IMDB that -- According to Lucinda Dickey, Adolfo Quinones would often try to show her up and make her feel intimidated because of her dancing ability and their clashes within the film rang true with his personal resentment for her which was also shared by their co-star Michael Chambers. So the scene at the end where they're all hugging.. That was probably real. The moment when they finally accepted Lucinda as a dancer and colleague.. That's so touching.
A legacy has made on two Breakin' movie. Remembered vividly these two iconic movies and made me a street dancer too, imitating all their moves. Now in my fifties, still can do poppin and lockin and showing the moves to my childrens delight.
The movie breakin in 1984 was the bomb I was 13 back then when I watched that movie i was living in columbus georgia 34 years ago wow how time flies good old days miss the 80's
Brilliant would not accurately describe this brother. The mere fact that he is from Chicago just confirms why I fell in love with his style, charm, talent and skills. Something about Chitown folks we capture the souls with everything we do. Shabba Doo captivated us in the movie Breakin, he leaves a outstanding legacy. Bravo!! Rest well Beloved. ❤👑
I got my headband and my samurai shirt as a child because of this movie. This movie is one of the reasons why there was a time in my life... I danced. R.I.P. Adolfo Quiones aka Shabba -doo aka OZONE!!! Everytime I lock, it's you who I think of. Thank you for your inspiration. Thank you for your light that shined all over the world 🌎 in the way you danced. Thank you Ozone!! Rest in peace!! Rest in Power king 🤴.
One of my favorite inspirational songs of all time. Love the movie. You can do anything you put your mind to.People still breakdance today, what a legacy. R.i.p.Shaba Doo and Popin Taco.
R.I.P OZONE. Your spirit will live on in our generation as one of our urban movie hero's. What a great legacy to leave.
Sad .. the government is responsible for covid.. that took Ozone away from us .
I love this story ❤❤❤❤❤
This movie was not cheesy and will never be!!!! The talent is incredible....Look at the talent and the dancing...It can never be cheesy!!!!! This movie is a legend and it's legacy lives forever and ever!!!

So many good memories as a kid
Such an inspirational scene too

This movie and its actors kicked in nearly 4 decades ago and now I've got a tears in my eyes nostalgia rush. Watching it over and over on my VHS into the 90's. Classic film. Classic dancers.
