While I would prefer it if it wasn't, especially with someone that has done a role as much as Caron has, it is just how it is. Good on him for being a good sport about it though, unlike some other actors out there that seem to stay mad for over a decade.
TC Carson is a good voice for one liners and a game, Gudge (the new guy) is perfect because he has a voice for story telling and and has a calmness to it so it's not always intense.
TC Carson is not mad or sad about the fact he didnt get the role in GoW 2018 but he is sad because Sony never called him and explained to him why they choosed someone else for the next installment

He is a baritone with a very distinctive texture to his voice, and the unique booming quality further shines as he raises it. He could have owned the role as well as Christopher Judge did, but simply didn't have the preferred physical appearance of the director.

We like to differentiate between Judge's version and TC's version by calling Kratos's different versions young and old, but in the GoW universe, Kratos is an immortal who doesn't age and his voice doesn't change.

His voice actually sounds like an older wiser Kratos. I still play the original trilogy to this day, with the original game from 2005 being my favorite. People say that judge is the best role for kratos are prolly people that never played the og games and that carson doesn't exist but for us og fans carson will always be the number 1 but it's literally a betrayal when they didn't even call him or thank him like wtf.
Ngl, I'm a little salty that in the flashback/illusion of Young Kratos beating up Zeus in GOW 2018, they didn't just use Carson's voice. It would have felt nostalgic in the best way, and realy tied the two parts of the franchise together. It's also completely believable that Kratos's voice just aged from Carson into Judge's. The way they just casually acted like Kratos has *always* sounded like Judge feels a tad disrespectful to the man TC, who was an integral part of this series for *a majority* of it's installments... I dunno. It's kinda messed up to me, man.
I assume it's for two reasons. They didn't want to pay him for using his voice. And second, the game was super top secret stuff, using him in any way would've brought a bunch of rumours up and ruined the reveal. Paying him would've also required him having knowledge of the game too

Actually there was a scene in the 2018 bit while Kratos and Atreus was in Helheim and saw their past lives relived and displayed. There was a scene where young Kratos was brutally beating his father Zues up while Atreus and Kratos watched and during that scene, the voice of Kratos wasn't that of Christopher Judge, it sounded close to TC Carson's. Or perhaps it was Christopher Judge's but with modern tech, it has been manipulated well enough to sound like TC Carson's version of young Kratos, which is a job well-done by the team if it is so.
I'm ashamed to say that until this year, I didn't realize that TC Carson was Kratos for the first few games. I grew up watching Living Single and wondered if he did anything big since then, and apparently he did, just without his face involved.
Much respect to his performance, especially when it's in front of a blank background green screen. It looks more challenging channeling your best performances while looking at all the goofy technical stuff in front of you.

TC is the ONLY Kratos I'm aware of.
Man troy baker is my favorite.. He is such a talented man... Tc Carson did a great job with young kratos
Ngl, I'm a little salty that in the flashback/illusion of Young Kratos beating up Zeus in GOW 2018, they didn't just use Carson's voice. It would have felt nostalgic in the best way, and realy tied the two parts of the franchise together. It's also completely believable that Kratos's voice just aged from Carson into Judge's. The way they just casually acted like Kratos has *always* sounded like Judge feels a tad disrespectful to the man TC, who was an integral part of this series for *a majority* of it's installments... I dunno. It's kinda messed up to me, man.
I assume it's for two reasons. They didn't want to pay him for using his voice. And second, the game was super top secret stuff, using him in any way would've brought a bunch of rumours up and ruined the reveal. Paying him would've also required him having knowledge of the game too

Yes this was not intended to have kratos in at all. They got cold feet amd made the character named him. Thats why its so contradictory in this new series, especially ragnarok

If there is ever scenes where we get to see young Kratos again, they should have TC Carson do the voice work.
Actually there was a scene in the 2018 bit while Kratos and Atreus was in Helheim and saw their past lives relived and displayed. There was a scene where young Kratos was brutally beating his father Zues up while Atreus and Kratos watched and during that scene, the voice of Kratos wasn't that of Christopher Judge, it sounded close to TC Carson's. Or perhaps it was Christopher Judge's but with modern tech, it has been manipulated well enough to sound like TC Carson's version of young Kratos, which is a job well-done by the team if it is so.

I'm ashamed to say that until this year, I didn't realize that TC Carson was Kratos for the first few games. I grew up watching Living Single and wondered if he did anything big since then, and apparently he did, just without his face involved.
