I felt like I had been hit by a truck, wind knocked out of me. Years later, after symptoms from herniated discs manifested into leg pain (radiculapathy), I found out I had broken my back (compression fracture, T12) and broken my ankle. I deal with arthritis from all the soft tissue injury and go to pain management monthly. It altered the trajectory of my life, to say the least.

My uncle was a pilot in Vietnam and his plane was hit, when he jumped out of the plane his shoot wouldn't open. He did exactly what they did in this video and he aimed himself towards trees. Unfortunately he didn't use his feet first but he fell towards his stomach into the trees. One of the sticks went through his eye. But he survived. He climbed off the tree and crawled all the way back to safety. He had a glass eye. He's gone now but he survived it.

The chance of your parachute failing is not 1:1000. The chance of tour parachute not fully opening but still saving you is 1:10000, and the death rate of skydiving is less than 1:100000

I heard about a B-17 tailgunner who's plane was badly damaged in combat and on fire. It was about 1000 feet in the air and he couldn't get out of the plane the way he was supposed to because it was engulfed in flames. His only option was to break out the glass where he was. But, he couldn't get out wearing his parachute. So, his decision was that he would rather die by falling rather than being burned up. So he dove out without his parachute. He thought he was a goner until he landed in a forest of trees which broke his fall. He ended up with only a broken leg.
Yes there was 2 insidents one is a woman, but there is explanations like floated on a pannel landed on trees she was found unconscious and servived.... But not free fall no one ever servived...

1. There have been multiple cases of people surviving falls from thousands of feet using this method
2. The chance of your parachute failing is not 1:1000. The chance of tour parachute not fully opening but still saving you is 1:10000, and the death rate of skydiving is less than 1:100000

I heard about a B-17 tailgunner who's plane was badly damaged in combat and on fire. It was about 1000 feet in the air and he couldn't get out of the plane the way he was supposed to because it was engulfed in flames. His only option was to break out the glass where he was. But, he couldn't get out wearing his parachute. So, his decision was that he would rather die by falling rather than being burned up. So he dove out without his parachute. He thought he was a goner until he landed in a forest of trees which broke his fall. He ended up with only a broken leg.

Yes there was 2 insidents one is a woman, but there is explanations like floated on a pannel landed on trees she was found unconscious and servived.... But not free fall no one ever servived...
