HAHAHA sry I’m taking a marine biology class and this is very funny. This would most likely NEVER happen. Like he said only a Sperm whale can swallow you BUT the thing is, sperm whales eat from the sea floor in the deep. Well some is unknown but they do eat fish and don’t open their mouths wide like baleen whales. They DO NOT EAT PLANKTON like baleen whales. And FYI baleen whales have such a small throat you CANNOT be swallowed. The reason the guy who did get swallowed by a whale got spat out was because they don’t want to eat us, their throats are TINNNYYY and if they do swallow you it’s because they simply didn’t notice you. Whales are very intelligent creatures and have their own language/communication with their clicks and songs. It’s very beautiful but they would never intentionally swallow you. Also what you do want to fear with TOOTHED WHALES (aka dolphins or Odontoceti) (yes a SPERM WHALE is a Odontoceti or a dolphin :)) is their echolocation. Sperm whales echolocation is very powerful and if hit directly by it you can get paralyzed and have organ failure. Never swim in front of a SPERM WHALE where the echolocation signal is being sent. They are very powerful and even being near one while it’s echolocating is dangerous too. Overall be safe and respect nature and don’t fear things. Go out and live ur life. But this vid feels like it’s here to make u fear things that won’t happen. And it’s sad. The info here is somewhat false. So please don’t just assume he’s right. Do your own research.

This comment is beyond stupid, it's just in case you somehow got swallowed by a whale and he already said whales don't find humans as a prey. If anyone even considered the chance of being swallowed they would go away from the whales from the start, just don't state the obvious.
Ffs, I want to make a few points for those who actually worry about it 1. Sperm whales only have teeth on their lower jaw 2. They don't have "four stomaches", they have 1 four-chambered stomach 3. They are incredibly intelligent, they in fact have the biggest brain compared to their size, they don't feed on humans so they are not gonna make an exception just for you 4. The whale with the guy in its mouth was not a sperm whale, it's one of a baleen whales, so the guy obviously accidently got into its mouth for a second, and the whale would not be able to swallow it anyway, because if one thing is truth in this video is that their throat is indeed too small for that. But do make sure you are sensible and respectful and don't get too close to a whale's tale cause that could actually accidently damage you, even though they try to be gentle with humans.
This is basically the entire plot of *Whalefall.* And it handles it in as realistic a fashion as a concept like this could be. The titular whale, a very large bull sperm whale, swallows the human protagonist accidentally, and his main threat is running out of oxygen, though there plenty of other threats in the first and second chambers of the stomach.

They may be giant predators but they don't see us as food at all, but curious aliens in their environment. Whalefall worked because the whale wasn't a villain at all... The act of predation on a human was *completely* accidental and threatens the life of the whale as much as the human peotagonist. He has to figure out a way to save them both... if one dies, so will the other.

How about not swimming in front of the whales mouth??? Why isn’t that a tip. Just said whales don’t find humans as potential prey. Swimming in view of their eyes, or side, on top, anywhere except the blind spot in front.

Ffs, I want to make a few points for those who actually worry about it
1. Sperm whales only have teeth on their lower jaw
2. They don't have "four stomaches", they have 1 four-chambered stomach
3. They are incredibly intelligent, they in fact have the biggest brain compared to their size, they don't feed on humans so they are not gonna make an exception just for you
4. The whale with the guy in its mouth was not a sperm whale, it's one of a baleen whales, so the guy obviously accidently got into its mouth for a second, and the whale would not be able to swallow it anyway, because if one thing is truth in this video is that their throat is indeed too small for that.
But do make sure you are sensible and respectful and don't get too close to a whale's tale cause that could actually accidently damage you, even though they try to be gentle with humans.

This is basically the entire plot of *Whalefall.* And it handles it in as realistic a fashion as a concept like this could be. The titular whale, a very large bull sperm whale, swallows the human protagonist accidentally, and his main threat is running out of oxygen, though there plenty of other threats in the first and second chambers of the stomach.

@@MissesLordiThe funny thing to me is actual Sperm Whales, when they encounter humans, tend to act in a gentle and curious way. They may be giant predators but they don't see us as food at all, but curious aliens in their environment.
Whalefall worked because the whale wasn't a villain at all... The act of predation on a human was *completely* accidental and threatens the life of the whale as much as the human peotagonist. He has to figure out a way to save them both... if one dies, so will the other.

And it's not like 8:28 pm you'll die. It's like it's prior decided. I think it's more of a cultural belief.
