Difference between Modi Govt and other govts Bengaluru Peripheral Ring Road announced 2007 - Requirement: Urgent - Work not even Started Satellite Town Ring Road announced 2018 - Requirement: Not Urgent - Half work already complete
First it was planned between hoskote - attibele. Now The route from hoskote towards south is not going to connect with attibele. It has been planned via on the outskirts of hosur City (tamilnadu). The route crosses from hoskote via chikka tirupati, hosur city outer circle, hosur airport, then again rejoins into Karnataka at anekal. Ofcourse hosur is in Tamilnadu, but the traffic congestion is going to blast beyond Karnataka border(attibele) since the growth of Bengaluru - hosur is becoming like twin cities. So as to plan for the future, the route for satellite town ring road is planned across state borders.
There should be no construction allowed through bannerghatta national park. Instead, take the alignment further south. Forests and wildlife are as important as infrastructure.

There's an existing highway (948-A) passing from Sarjapura - Attibele, is this a part of STRR? Some route maps show STRR passing from Hoskote - Hosur -Anekal whereas some others show Hoskote - Sarjapura -Attibele. So which one is correct?
As a banglorean i can say good job by the govt it's pouring crores on infrastructure now. if previous governments had done the same in 90's bangalore would have been a better place .
Everyone is concentrating more on the advantages of the STRR. Yeah, I too agree that the traffic will be reduced to the maximum extent, but no one is bothered about the fact that it has to pass through BNP, in the "Eco Sensitive Zone", and it is an "Elephant Corridor" as well. Extending the road and the movement of vehicles in the BNP will intensively affect animals' movements. We humans think that only humans are living on this earth, which is not true.
