- It has been 6 days since we placed the eggs in the hatching machine. It is time for us to check which eggs are fertilized and which are not. We are using a simple LED light as a candling light.
I have no eggs.. no chickens.. no hatching machine.. no idea why I'm enjoying this!
Get chickens!
Ur high ma boi !
Start keeping chickens or racing pigeons !! Highly rewording!!
@@bacodebarbari510 I'm sorry.... did you say, "racing pigeons"?
You were supposed to watch the video if you have chickens or eggs😂
this was without a doubt, the BEST video I have seen on egg candling. thank you
06:37 Candling process start here
vikram vicky Thankyou
Thx
Ty
thanks!!
Thanks
Never lose that passion you got for animals. Its great. Thanks for nice vid
This is one of my favorite things to do with our children, especially at the 2 week stage where they move around. A little miracle in each egg! :-)
The Restoration Couple
Your children are lucky... my parents don't want anything to do with eggs or my birds
@@inactivechannel7439 my family feels the same about my bird I'm getting. I'm not a dog person but everyone owns a dog and I find it really annoying how they're so pushy about dogs but yet hate birds. It's like comparing apples with oranges, a personal preference. Nothing more.
Absolutely fascinating! But even more fascinating is that the process you are helping along has been going on for millions of years. Thanks for sharing your and your family's world.
It is fascinating.
Thousands of years.
Give God the glory!
Thanks.
Wow I could see them when you moved the camera back so you could focus on the eggs 😹 that was surprising I did not think I,would see it from that distance . I noticed the veins before the heart plus the air pocket I noticed was different to the unfertilised eggs. Thanks for sharing that it was something I have not seen done in almost 40 years when I had the chance to do this on the farm I stayed at when Mom remarried when I was almost 6 I had fun on the farm even learned to drive the tractor as well 😹😹😹 only down side is when I fell, out the low bedroom window right on top of a bed of stinging nettles not a pretty sight I can tell you😹😹😹
Another excellent video from SH! Candling is def a really cool look at life from a very intriguing perspective.
you have great videos . I was raised on a small farm and how great the knowledge you have given would have helped us 60 plus years ago , I love ALL of your videos and will continue to look for them . so keep them coming when you can thanks and wishing you and your family a super 2017 year'' a subscriber thumbs up""
Onlp😅
I live in a condominium and have some physical disabilities, and at my age now, I could never dream of doing this now. But I love watching your videos and wish you all the best in all your endeavors. In my prayers.
This is the best candling video I have seen on RUclips! Thank you!
Really appreciate your videos, thank you, your children are fortunate to have you to learn from
I am new to hatching and this really helps me learn. I'm going to set up a similar light and candle my first batch of hatching eggs in a few more days. Thanks for a good video!
How did your hatching turn out?? I’m waiting for my eggs to arrive I’ll be doing this later this week!
Thank you for all of the great videos. God bless you and your family. With Love, from Michigan - U.S.
Thank you. Blessings to you too.
I really hope the family is well. Your videos have helped so many people. Your teaching skills are superb.
Thank you for this video. I just put 57 eggs into my incubator and I am going to want to candle them. The toilet paper roll idea may work for me!
thank you for sharing...I really enjoyed seeing the process
thank you
this was a very good description of egg hatching. im even thinking of making my own hatching machine now i got all this information
My bro what do you use to check heat in side incubetor
This is a great video!! Can't wait to show my daughter! We're hoping to have a few fertilized eggs.
I've made my simple automatic incubator , but the incubator on this video looks great , nice candling demonstration too.
gr8 vid....instead of the tape on your light try using the cardboard center of a toilet paper roll....it wont let any light bleed out through it like i noticed the tape does.....its very flexible and forms a perfect "seal" around the egg....i use it on my flashlight when candling my eggs and it works like a charm especially on very dark colored eggs
Thanks. I like that idea.
@@simeonandalex careful the egg isn't smaller than the hole. Most chicken eggs are and will fall through.
Really cool. The egg at 9:45 was a really good one. Thanks for sharing
Hi Guildbrookie - i enjoy your Vids too!
Thank you for sharing your video I really enjoyed watching it.
I just found you and I hope you are well and wanted to tell you I enjoyed this old yet wicked video.
You brought back a childhood memory ,we had about a hundred geese and in the spring after nesting was over we would gather up the dud eggs and have a egg war sometimes they would pop and stink real bad ,what fun we had .thanks for the videos
Haha. That sound like fun.

Great video. You explained candling very well. thank you
If I had a higher capacity incubator I'd get more eggs! 😂 Right now I have a clutch of 7 silkies in the 'bator that were shipped to me. They're only a few days in so far but I believe so far there's only one I'm questioning on if it's viable. Which is good. I can't wait to see how they are this weekend! :D
And yowza, that LED is great! My candler is 12+ years old. That bulb hasn't been changed ever. I need to try and get a brighter one Friday so I can really see into those eggs...
Great demonstration and helpful information. Thanks!
Very cool. Well done. Thanks for showing us. I'm looking forward to having my own chickens one day.
Go for it. Chickens are awesome.
Watching from Texas...love your videos!!!
Thank you so much. I thought I had detached air sacs, but....I have floating embryo! Yeah... Thank you! Plus I love your incubator...
I'm trying to hatch duck eggs. this video is very helpful and I can't wait to start doing mine.😀😁😀😁😀😁
I already did mine in ducks but some not been hatched so I cracked the egg to get them out
If the incubator was moved to the left you could take the trays out and put them to the right and prevent a possible accident by knocking into the window and dropping the trays.
I like your light, it seems to work better than my candler.
Nice incubator…I learned a lot from this, thanks so much!
I am hatching Bielefelders also. Can’t wait.
I bought some chicks of same breed and eagerly awaiting their arrival
I had to look this up, because I unfortunately candled incorrectly this morning, using a phone flashlight. 5 eggs were non viable of the 6 I tossed. The 6th had a fully developed chick in it, and chirped when I tossed it into the woods and it hit a tree root. Grabbed my 22 to put it out of whatever misery I put it in. Thanks for this video, it'll help me ensure it never happens again.
Awesome video! It was very informative, thank you!
big thumbs up from me!!!! love it!! Merry xmas.
I love the way you xplain brother,,thanks for imporming us
That was awesome to watch, thanks!
The spark of life, manyfold. Very good. When I was very young, I saw an old man doing this by holding the egg against the sun. Same principle I suppose. Nice treat for your kids as well, when they hatch at X-mas.
This is great, thank you! I am learning.
AHHHH!!!
I was blinded at 0:47. O.K. Simeon, you will be hearing from my attorneys.
I will settle out of court for a few dozen pastured eggs and some maple flavored bacon.
hahahhahahaha you made my day 😂😂🤣🤣😂
I never knew you could check the egg for an embryo. Thank you
Great vid!!!! I am doing all of my research in getting ready to hatch some in incubator...love your chnl!!
I am new to this my eggs have been in six days ive checked them all embryos growing no bad ones i am thrilled make sure you get a descent incubator mine has auto turn and shuffle a led light and humidity control and temperature ?
Great...thanks for all the tips!!!!!! Hope it goes well for you😁
You shouldn't shake the egg like you do in the first candling, could shaker the embryo loose so to speak. If hatching rate from the incubator are low, that might be cause you've shook the eggs. And as a lady wrote, move the incubator to the let, so the table at the right side is free for you to put the frames on while candling.
Is he doing anything differently than a mother hen would shuffling them around?
I just candled my 14 eggs at day 6 and I have 12 forsure babies growing,, I'm unsure of the 2 so put them back and I'll check again in a few days. Thank you for your video!!
They move a lot if alive. Some look dead but after a few minutes you will see movement or change in the shadows.
Very cool. Cheers from Ottawa, Canada.
beautiful video that for the info because for some reason the hen was of her nest eggs went cold but she went back on so i will test and also hopefully the eggs are all ok it was like since the 4 that she was on them due date is on 25 of may thanks for sharing
Great videos, I am just learning about chicken husbandry and this is a valuable resource!! As for life only coming from life... In a short term view this is of course true... in one week a rock does not turn into a chicken... life took billions of years to emerge on Earth and has been evolving for billions of years since then. Human history is only a tiny speck of that and in an even tinier speck we can selectively breed and control the traits of species like chickens for our own particular needs. To me that is the stunning thing about life... it is adaptable, flexible, resilient.
Great video, thanks for sharing
I’m watching this cause I found abandoned eggs! I did not know what to do but now I know how to check if they have babies inside so this helps.😓🙂
Omygoodness! Thank u, this was sooooo interesting!!!🙌🙌👍 you are excellent!
An eggcelent video, very informative!
I have a bright heat lamp, can I use it for incubation light?
Very informative,easy to comprehend!
Hello! I am new to this channel. This video is SUPER helpful! I am trying to hatch some chicks of my own and now I know how to candle them! Thanks! :D
Awesome video. Thank you.
Just did this. Yay, we have babies growing!
I just did mine on day 6 and I also have 12 babies 🥰
Very interesting, thank you.
i really like this i want to do the same am pretty excited about this we are wanting a big incubator are little one just is not cutting it but the eggs got cold also and some froze
That was great...Good job....
Have you tried geese? I have a pair of Toulouse geese and tried once to let her sit on eggs and got none to hatch then put her eggs in the incubator and got none. For some reason they are not being fertilized but don't know if it's the goose or the gander. I'll try again in the Spring
Thank you for the information
Could you tell me where you got your incubator? Thank you.
For broiler eggs do i have to check each of them to see if they are fertile or not? and if so how long should i kip dem out of the incubator?
really awesome..thank you again..wow
Thank you, insightful information am modifying a candler now .lost 35 eggs turns out they were unfertile
This video was very helpful. Thanks for making it
Thank you. Learnt a lot.
I'm barely a month into raising chickens (as an adult), hence my late viewing. 🙃
Your incubator looks nice (I'm a furniture designer)...
I subbed, too...
How did you record this? Like what type of camera? I can never get it to show up on video.
no.. the egg was first.. lol you just threw that biogenesis thing at the end to generate discussion and engagement.. and I fell for it.
Can someone tell me what the dots on the shell mean? They are paler in comparison to the other areas. Is it linked to the structure of the eggm
Appreciate yr sharing yr wonderful vid..👌
Thanks for this great video
Wow amazing my eggs have been in five days so i will check mine tomorrow im so excited thankyou for your advice ?
My eggs should hatch in a few days
What you did for turning?
Very helpful information. Thanks
wonderful creation
Turning tray or egg rolling In this incubator?
# I show, put egg on round stic.
Great video. 😍
Thank you for Sharing. 😍
What brand of incubator do you use?
May I ask what kind of camera/ video are you using (brand) and how you made your candling light so it will hold egg on top and shine so brightly through it? Thank you so much!!
I would love to know what kind of incubator you have? Where you hot or bought it? Please .
Thanks it helped me a lot.
Your incubator looks beautiful. May i know the brand please?
What kind of bulb you are using for your lamp?
Thank you for sharing, keep safe
Doesn't the mother need to turn the eggs now and then if she sits on the nest? It helps the heat to evenly distribute and the air sac to be where it needs to be?
What brand incubator do you have?
informative video....Do you have a video on building an incubator?
Congratulations simon you are father now.. Positive 🤣🤣🤣
Funny, I subscribed to you when you were Swedish homestead... I see this candling video, see your names and click on the video; Then I notice I am not subscribed to you?! RUclips
Some one help. I’m new to this. I just candled my one of my eggs. One half is dark with movement and the other half is clear. Is this normal? I have an automatic rotating incubator
What incubator are you using?
Beautiful.
What is the make of that incubator? Nicest one we've seen.
