- A little egg survived and became a sweet friend. The mother had an egg binding problem. Fortunately I knew my way around budgies by now .,.
When the time's right, when she's a flight expert, this little parakeet will return to the owner of her mother.
For those of you interested, here's how to help a bird (such as a budgie, or a hen for example) with egg bound (a stuck egg):
"A warm bath followed by a lubricant such as Vaseline or olive oil placed just inside and around the vent may help pass the egg. Place the mother in a dark secluded place to nest away from other birds. Seek urgent veterinary help if she's still unable to lay the egg and is showing signs of distress."
If no vet is available, softly massage the egg out. Please take your time, be patient and do not break the egg if not necessary.
Preventing egg-bound is mostly possible by giving the right diet, enough calcium and a proper nesting place.

To think of the love and effort put in to save this unborn parrot while we live in a country where women fight for the right to kill their child in the womb up to eight months and have the nerve to call it healthcare. I hate bringing politics into this but it’s the perfect example of morality vs. immorality. We have become a collective who support immorality and I’m glad there are still people like this in the world who have the heart to do the right thing.
Life is amazing. From beginning to end life is a miracle.

This brings back sweet memories! Years ago, I hand reared a budgie chick whose mother died unexpectedly on her hatching day. I didn’t have an incubator, so there was nothing I could do for the other eggs, but I was determined to save the little hatchling. Everyone thought I was crazy trying to raise such a tiny baby. She was too small to eat from an insulin syringe, so I would put a few drops of hand-feeding formula on my hand and let her lick it off my hand. What an amazing experience it was! So tiny but so determined to survive. She grew up strong and healthy and I had her for 7 years.
Strong men being gentle with tiny fragile creatures really hit a soft spot in my heart.

I, too, had tears in my eyes after having experienced the love that this noble man had for this tiny just-hatched baby bird. This gentleman cared for this little sweetheart bird from its just-hatched babyhood up to its maturity as a confidentially flying little bird.

Ive raised 7 myself after they were rejected. It's a very daunting task especially when they're in the first week. After a week to ten days they scream for the formula syringe lol.
I love that the warm breath technique is something you do. I also did the same with baby birds and after seeing you do it I don't feel odd anymore.
Every single one of these little feathered dinosaurs is special.

@@sherriehaynes8811 there are mixes of different kinds specifically for baby birds. It's like a mush that smells like vitamins. Available at pet stores here in the US.
@@IWoVex I had so many keets. At one time I had about 40 total. I thought breeding would be a fun project 😆 My favorites were the first two I had to take from their nest after being attacked by their mother. (I'm guessing stress or that particular bird just wasn't equipped to rear her young so I never had her with males after that) Bubby and Tweety. Two sweet little sisters. Budgies usually don't prefer human attention when you have a colony but those two were always sitting on me preening my hair. They also became excellent surrogate mothers. They would both together take any babies that needed to be moved for any reason and usually did an excellent job even if they weren't theirs.

@rs yes it possibly would have, but I mean it still needed human intervention to remove the egg from the dead mother. If he hadn't removed it and given that egg a chance, it unfortunately wouldn't have hatched and would have rotted with the body because no bird is going to recognize and sit on an egg half-inside a dead bird.
@Purplelight gaming no parrot would have worked that hard to keep her alive and hatch her from inside the dead mama bird. In this case I think she got better care from stepdad than any bird could or would have given her. No other bird would have dug her out of the dead parrot mama. I meant only in this case it's better.

I actually saved a baby blue Jay from my cat last week and successfully reunited him with his parents yesterday. It was amazing. I’ve volunteered to bottle feed baby animals for years. I notice how you never complain about the nightly feedings.
Everyone, this man is probably feeding this baby every 15 minutes AROUND the clock. Which just makes you more of a hero bc we all love our sleep. ❤❤

She looks so much like a little budgie I used to take care of. By the time he entered my care he seemed to be quite an old boy, and about a year after I took him in, he suddenly passed away in the night. My heart never stopped hurting for him.

I once had a very similar rescue. I was breeding budgies last year. And the mother budgie neglected the youngest and smallest. 😢 she was less than two days old! I decided to call her Ferdy. And hand fed her until she became big enough to eat on her own. She could feel lonely I could tell. So I got her a little male friend. They never had babies together sadly. 😅 but I’m happy I was able to give her that second chance that gave her life! 😊❤️ thank you so much for doing what you can do for all the animals you’ve rescued!

Love your video. I did the same thing with a finch that the mother had thrown out of the nest. I didn't know, but the mother knew, that the baby had a birth defect and that's why she threw him out of the nest. His little legs were deformed and he was unable to perch. So he lived in my shirt and when we were not together he stayed in a little nest at the bottom of the cage. I named him Lucky Ducky. I loved that little bird so very much.

I love budgies.We had them when we were children,they could talk too ..When I had my own family I was lucky enough to have had a couple of young ones and they both talked.Not as talkative as a real parrot,but they have a few sentence they will say.This one is beautiful.Lovely bright blue 🥰
