I know this is late but I wanted to ask if you have tried an ear bonnet on Stevie? You can get some that help with the noise or even ear plugs designed for horses. It might help for future shows with speakers

In that class. Julia was sitting up nice straight. And Kate too. Hopefully the girls get the highest places in that class too. Come pair to the other riders. P.S. good luck girls. And win big girls. Anytime! They were just on sale last week, but if the sale is done, keep your eyes open for the Boxing Day sales. They will almost certainly be on a big sale. I usually get them when they go on for $20-$29 each, the Sport ones usually go on sale for around $49. Good luck.
Thanks 😊. Would thing those two are attached at the hip, but the funny thing is, at home, Duke and Stevie don’t hang out at all. It is Duke, Luna and Kylah that are always together. Stevie is usually with Foxy and Jack. I guess since their friends aren’t there, they are settling for each other 🤣. They are getting a little better each show, and we have another one tomorrow that will be more practice. Wish us luck!
Hey barn boots and country roots family I do t know if you will see this or not but what brand are your show jackets from? I am hoping to have my first show on my thoroughbred mare soon and am looking for a nice but still simple show coat, thanks!
Kate’s jacket is “R.J. Classics - Essential Collection” from Bridle Path Tack Store and Julia’s is “Elation” from Greenhawk. We got both jackets on really great sales so hopefully you can get yours on sale as well! 🤞🏻If you live near a Greenhawk store, they usually always have the show jackets on sale at their massive warehouse sale in the Fall. Good luck in your show!
Stevie is such a cutie. Are you able to bring her to lessons with Duke at Brandans ever? He might be able to help with some exercises and also just get her used to time off the farm. Duke is definitely calmer than he first show you tried. Also love the bows!

hi! just letting you know that i noticed the height of your boots seemed super short from what i could tell in the video. not sure if they are half chaps or tall boots but you might want to look at some taller ones in the future!
Yes, you are absolutely right. We actually have the “tall” version of the tall boots… both girls have long legs (but Kate especially has VERY long legs and it is always hard finding clothes/ footwear that fit). We have been to lots of stores and tried on lots of different boot brands but the girls need boots with slim calves, so Ariat boots are the best fit (and even those are not tall enough, but they are much better). Our only real option is to have them custom made but that is not in the budget right now until they have stopped growing and will get more than one year out of them. So, we are just waiting for the Fall warehouse sale at Greenhawk to purchase new boots for Kate. They always have amazing deals there 😊.
We always bathe the horses before the show, but this time we used a new shampoo! Lots of people commented on how shiny she was 😊. I will have to video what it was in case anybody else wants to pick some up for their horses. We really liked it.

Maybe 🤔 … that was all she did and she was perfectly fine after that. There were a lot of people, horses and commotion she was getting used to. Once she got those couple of hops out of her system she was ready to go 😊.

We get their breeches from Greenhawk. The usually wear the Elation Red Label or Elation Red Label Sport ones. They always go on sale, too!
