I can’t wait till we get the traction bar on and get everything aligned!
Go with Innovative, then u can run the front engine mount when you go B
Hell yes! Innovative make the best!
Hey Chris, how's your CRX? I'm a fellow crx owner up in canada. Just ordered a fullrace traction bar and wanted to ask how easy the install went for your innovative one
I don't know if he'll read this but it's an easy install. You shouldn't really have any issues.
@@GarageBuiltHondas Sweet! The only vids I've been have the engine pulled. I'm assuming that's not necessary though? Love your channel man, thanks for replying
Chris went from "My buddy Jon got me into this CRX going to budget build track car" 4 videos later "PCI,Ktund, possible B16.."
1. The first song, had me the SF reference.
2. Best bench bleed for a MC explanation on YT.
3. I know you guys were under the car but that cloud time-lapse was great!
Glad you enjoy my vids, I like sharing what we're up to with all of y'all in our neck of the woods!
Been waiting for a CRX vid!! 🔥👌
It took us a few weeks but finally got it finished!!
Yours, pfi, and Honda vlogs, videos are the only vids i look forward to on youtube.
**tight lip slow nod** lol
Honda Vlogs foo I knew I was forgetting someone lol I corrected that shit before I seen yo comment. Looked down and it’s yo ass. Lol
Nice work! Good parts going on that crx. The view of the mountains looks really Nice!
I see your vids and just have to be thankful I don't see those temperatures here. 😀
@@GarageBuiltHondas ugh, don't remind me 😂👍
Hahaha
Pretty much my favorite youtube channel - content is always amazing!
Thank you so much!!
Thats cool scenery where the clouds move while you working on the car!!
Thanks, tried to make it visual appealing as well because watching us drop us drop a gas tank can be boring.
Hell yea, The Rex is a classic. I'll never let mine go.
Im working on my wifes 97 CRX Si. :)
Nice! Did you mean 91?
Vacuuming the spiders was my favorite part 👏🏽😆👏🏽 this car is really coming along guys. Looking forward to seeing track footage of both yall’s cars
🏁🇯🇵🏁
Super gross too. I'm afraid to dump out that vacuum now. Lol
This makes me want to build a honda now.
Yup, it's time Bailey!
Love your videos and all you do for us EF lovers out here
You got it buddy!
Thanks for sharing and actually showing the details. Helps us nuns out 👊🏼🔩
You're welcome, hope some of it helps!!
Looking forward to seeing this build progress! Gives me motivation to work on my 89' Maybe I should start vlogging it aswell!
Please do, and if you do let me know. Always enjoy watching "diy builds" here!
Track season is upon us again boys! 🏁
We're excited!
Man I need to move down there with you guys, too many clean EFs! I'd have 30 of each chassis.
You and me both brotha! Man, if I could afford to work on that many, I definitely would!
I wish I had a couple more Wrenches to play just like you guys! 😍👌🏁
It really helps, keep doing your thing, you'll find like minded individuals!
Those are some good looking parts!!
Chris (crx owner) is balling, right?!
Garage Built Hondas everything he did was legit.
When dealing with spider webs I always spray some brake cleaner in there to kill of anything that may still be alive. I do try to refrain from lighting them on fire though.
Haha, lighting a fire right there probably would've been a pretty bad move.
At 9:00 is exactly how I 1 man bleed my brakes from the caliper nipple to the res. Just hop in car and pump away and keep fluid topped off. 100% way of bleeding all the air and you can see when the fluid is clear coming through cuz of the clear hose. Just get hose from Lowe’s etc for $5-7.
Nice, I use the one-man bleeder kit which has been the easiest method for me.
Looking good and very purpose built for sure.
*high five*
Man.. to tackle some old part of a car and not have an extra day of work just dealing with rusted bolts! Found some original fogs for my civic, one was ok the other needed all 7 screws/bolts drilling out :(
Great vid! so jealous as my MB6 cant fit any subframes or decent ARBs :(
I had to deal with a rusted LCA/trailing arm side bolt and it was such a pain.
@@GarageBuiltHondas Reminds me of a few weeks ago, changed the ARB but both drop links were rusted solid into the LCA holes, had to cut off the drop links on both sides! The up side is my Civic is getting more rust free and healthier with every task ;)
That's so true, it'll be very well put together and you'll have less to worry about.
that rear toe is a BIG "B" to install and remove but its sooooo worth it!
I've changed my ones and it can make more speed in a straight line when you get it aligned, my alignment is near perfect for me. i run a square setup (no camber) and all 4 tires have great contact patch on the floor, my rear toe is toed in a lot but still in the "green zone" of OEM Honda
I agree, it can make or break a setup especially when the car is lowered. It need to be aligned after a dropped setup.
I want an EF/CRX so bad lol
Let's do it!
@2:04 that is one nice looking rear end!!!
That ASR subframe brace/bar combo is pretty badass.
Guys, you should make some videos from eg hatch improvements , I love the crx but it’s hard to find a decent crx unmolested cherry here in FL Miami. Most are Botched.. but yeah dude get someone doing an eg hatch improvements n I will continue looking for a crx 😁
If we get a chance to work on Chris's dad's EG I'll record some of the work!
FINALLY A NEW VIDEO!!! 😩😩😩😍😍😍
It's been a while, I've been slacking!
I like those tie rod end links!
They're a slick design, i want!!
You should start doing car reviews driving your friends cars that would be entertaining to watch
I like that idea, but I don't know if some people could take criticism well. I'm not sure dick by any means but some might get butt-hurt, ya know? Maybe I'll try with some of my closest friends.
Garage Built Hondas yeah I mean anyone who you know has thick skin and can handle a little honest review aha
Very true. I'm gonna ask, I think that'd we a lot of fun!
Garage Built Hondas that’s all it’s about is having fun and slamming gears😎
Really love your videos!
I'm so glad to hear, thanks for letting me know.
you almost have as much as i do now 😂 just needs fullbodies and da front sway bar and traction bar of course cant wait for next vid
Traction bar is next! He already had the DA front bar, and he won't be going full bodies anytime soon, he has the Illuminas with custom spring rates. Maybe after those get old. 👍
I want to see the crammed b20 in action ,u just teased us with the install
Soon, very soon. Just finished installing a wideband in it and got the s300 p28 installed. Hoping to get it tuned in March!
@@GarageBuiltHondas nice if its the v3 it basically tunes its self ,in the sense it tells u how much fuel to add or remove in Each table
I wish. I got the V1 in a p28 from this parts car. I can't complain though, made out like a bandit in parts for the price. ruclips.net/video/mcJ7c4nebE4/видео.html
Another great video 👍 thanks
Man.. I taught McLovin was helping you out.. he sounds like him
I have a question that nobody's been able to give me a straight answer. I've noticed my car smells like it's running slightly rich, my spark plugs look as if cylinder 1 is running really lean and it gets worse, cylinder 4 looks as if it's black, covered in soot. My hatch runs pretty well no check engine lights, I'm just stuck trying to figure it out emissions coming soon lol. If you have any insight on this subject I'd be happy to hear anything you think it might be. Off topic but you're the man when it comes to Honda's lol
What engine and what obd? Any mods?
And thanks man, I'm flattered at the comment!
D15B2 automatic transmission dpfi ODB 0,as for mods just the basic cold air intake, header, full exhaust, but this problem was there before the mods.
Fuel injectors original? It kinda sounds like the spray isn't even anymore since one is lean and one is rich. It could be either the primary or secondary injector. I'd start with that.
I'll look into that, thank you again!
You're welcome. Try grabbing a set at a yard first just to see. It might make a difference. If not, you could send both off and have them flow tested and cleaned. Look up Oside Tiger injectors. They do a nice service to get them running optimally.
Nice parts for the crx track car!
More debt created successfully!
Those are some nice upgrades. That little crx is gonna be quick on the turns..#TheSilverBullet
I hope do, and anxious to drive it!
I believe you were using a duralast 15/16 on this CRX, I just bought that same one. I have a 90 sedan DX with stock drums. I plan on upgrading to rear discs soon, just waiting on parts. In the meantime my MC is really bad and I need to put the 15/16 on…Can I use that bigger reservoir on my stock set up? Some people told me I had to put my stock reservoir until I went full disc. What are your thoughts?
what you have to understand about the CRX: it's the cutest car ever made, hands down
They sure are.
Is the event you are attending at NJMP? I plan to attend. Though I hope my car is relatively done before late March.
Unfortunately we're in El Paso, TX. We go to ASR Superlap out here in New Mexico.
What rear trailing arm bushings are those? Are they the urethane ones? If they are, he might want to get hardrace instead. He will likely experience snap overstear at the limit if he keeps the urethane ones.
Dale Engles is that from personal experience or online forums? Cus I’m looking to replace mine and the urethane one looks easier to put in compare to the hardrace one
Dale is correct, I've read that too. But I've also read people that like the way the Energy Suspension ones feel also. If your car is a daily driver, you're never going to push it to the limits as you would at a track. I've had the ES ones on my 91 Si for about 6 years now and it feels great for daily and some spirited fun every now and then
He's using Blox Spherical.
@@Tec-fv2xb Urethane is easier, but yes, this is from personal experience. The rear will come around on you if you're really pushing it. Not an issue on a street car, but definitely on a track car/autocross car.
would technically all the air be out of the master even when you take the lines off, seems like air would get in there once you remove them and install the lines from the car
We ended up bleeding the lines after just to make sure there was no air in the system. I think Jon mentions it around 1130.
Awesome CRX Si! What master cylinder did you buy for your replacement and booster? I just replaced my 92 Accord Master Cylinder on Saturday and had to fabricate the lines and fittings to be able to bench bleed the fluid. It was the exact replacement to the original from NISIN, probably the same as yours and there weren't any fittings included unfortunately.
It was the 90-91 Civic sedan EX. All 88-91 Civic/crx masters are interchangeable.
I see before the subframe brace he just had a tie bar in some of your cars you also just have a tie bar! Are they worth it? I purchased a EMUSA brace but install with stock swaybar (15mm) was horrible bolts did not match up. So was considering just tiebar for now till I can afford asr brace and swaybar
I don't know if the tie bar does a whole lot but it probably does help strengthen the entire area slightly.
What did you use to connect the wires of the new gas pump?
Because if you use insulation tape when in contact with gasoline, it takes off
Maybe the next change of brake fluid can you use a racing fluid like motul or another
We soldered them together and used heat shrink over the solder joints.
He'd like to upgrade the fluid eventually, just not really needed yet.
Coming along nicely. Now time for a swap.
Not yet. He wants to learn how to drive it well first.
Jon, yeah I totally get it. In due time of course.
Crx with a swap is so much more fun!
Y8 head
For the break booster i wold have just bent the nipple to A 45 degree angle and bam got it.
It was too close for the check valve to fits, and we didn't want any weird routing of the hoses. Once we put in the b16 well probably tuck it.
I thought you were just hooding the smaller bar up to show the difference in size, I didn’t think you were going to try use it.
Hooding? Not sure I get your meaning, sorry.
Sweet video as usual !
Thanks KJ!
I wish i could still work on my car outside this time of the year...
We're pretty lucky down here. We get plenty of time all year.
What’s your take on PU bushing for the rear trailing arm?? It’s gonna be a daily driver
Responded on the other post.
Iove ef' so much.
Great video
Thanks Gustavo!
Day 3...same green boxers.... Lmao you nasty cuz!
Holy shit, that's funny AF!
J5imms lol keep in mind these days are actually separate weeks lol
Awesome project, I need a rear ARB myself, does anyone know which other Civic ARB's fit on an EF? These are hard to come by here
What am I missing? I don't know what ARB is?
Anti roll bar - swaybar :)
OMG, lol. Any of the EF Si bars will fit. You car may not have the threaded holes already for the bar mounting brackets though so you'll have to figure out how you'd like to mount it.
I have the holes on my LCA's but not on the chassis so I would just drill through the trunk and put bolts... but EF parts are veeery hard to come by here so just wondering if any other chassis swaybars fit
DA probsbly too. I'm going to mount one for a friend, maybe I'll make a quick video of it.
What year and make is that Honda CRX?
What bolt size did you use to install sway bar mounts or did asr included them with purchase?
All hardware is included
What are your plans and goals for the motor set up?
Eventually drop in the b16 once the D16 blows. But it’ll be a mostly stock b16 with a few bolt on nothing crazy.
It's not gonna blow, things gonna run forever! I'll take it when we do the swap!
Hey Jon, I see guys running EX master's and DA master's. Do you know the difference by chance?
CRX came with 7/8th MC's (90-91's crx i think) and EX and DA's came with 15/16th" to 1". I'm sure Jon will correct me but if you go to 1" might actually just be too much for the little car. Maybe not too much but un-needed or maybe it does mess with the brake bias. idk
@@HondaVlogs hmm ok. I'm running a 13/16 MC and a 2040 prop valve. Rear disc conversion and front DA knuckles and brakes. I was hoping to get a little better stopping power out of it, I can't ever get any solid info from all the forums
@@stunnasam21 Honda-tech is your friend if the info is out there. I still always end up there when i need to figure stuff out.
honda-tech.com/forums/tech-misc-15/reference-master-cylinder-sizes-928201/
Used that to confirm the MC sizing.
You can use LS MC and some people use i think a 4040 prop valve
Christian (Honda Vlogs) hit it right on the head. I like the complete EX setup (master cylinder and front knuckles) to go with the DA rear discs and 40/40 prop valve. The setup to me feels very neutral/balanced as if it belonged on the car that way. The 1" MC might be more helpful on something with 200+ HP but I'm not too sure on that as I've never had a car that powerful.
Jonh I have a question do u know where I can buy that seals for 1990-1991
That goin in that engine bay wiredwall ac delete
Headers and other seals on that engine bay
Hondapartsunlimited.com will have everything as long as it's not discontinued.
Why not go with DOT4 brake fluid?
Gotta drain and flush the entire system. You don't want to mix the different fluids, as their boiling points are different. If you're already running 3, it's fine to stick with it on a mild track setup.
James Haulenbeek oh K thanKs for response...my crx was DOT3 it’s entire life & I switched to DOT4 in 2007 & haven’t had any issues. U have a nice blade crx, I can’t wait to see some auto cross/track videos! 😎
More coming soon too!!
What booster should I use on my crx since both my front calipers have been changed to integra calipers
Stock is fine
Thanks
Did that magniful come with that motor or do u have a video of how u changed it ??
I'm not sure what you're asking about. What do you mean by "magniful"?
Like is that the stock one that came with that motor or was it a smaller one the little black magniful
Still lost man. I looked up the definition of "magniful". It's not a word. You'll need to be more specific.
🤣🤣🤣 lol

@@rolla.18s87 😁 its stock in these engines.
any suspension mods to benefit the car makes it supper dangerous!
(in a good way)
one day you be sloppy and hate your car.... after instal "DAMN! its Beautiful"
What size wrench did you use for the tie rods?
22 for the inner tie rod but and a 19 for the nut that holds it to the steering knuckle.

All that you've replace in this video
Maybe $700-800 total
Thanks dude
Coz I'm planning to upgrade my ek this comming summer
I'd check around and do some shopping, you'll find deals sometimes too.
What was the lube in the blue tube you used for the bolts?
Blue loctite! Put that shit on everything!
What does it do? Lock the threads or something?
@@kindledlight yes, but unlike the red loctite, it's not a permanent thread lock. Use blue if you want to be able to remove the nut, screw, or bolt in the future. Use red if you want to have to cut, drill, or burn it off.
@@jameshaulenbeek5931 So it's basically like a sealer that holds the bolt and prevents it from being a pain in the ass to remove (from rust) in the future?
^^^^ that.
Use anti-seize on threaded parts to avoid them rusting together and galling.
J2 front arms , good ? Not good ?
Unknown. He's only used them at one track event and it's not a daily driver.
I hear they break after a while is that true?
I've heard about them snapping also. I'd hate to see that happen especially since he tracks the car.
The bench bleed wasn't done yet. Those small bubbles are what you're trying to get rid of. The cylinder should be actuated way slower than he was doing it. If I'm using a helper I always just tell them to go PAINFULLY slow. He was going really fast, breaking up those bubbles and making it take longer. One of those little guys stuck in a corner of your cylinder can ruin your day. If you don't spend way too much time bench bleeding, you'll spend way too much time line bleeding. It generally just sucks. lol
Thanks for the tip!!
I subscribe it..Good Channel.
Thank you!
You didn't spray the new holes you made to prevent rust.
New holes?
@@GarageBuiltHondas The holes y'all drilled into the cargo floor for the swaybar brace. You just left raw, unpainted metal. You need to seal it to prevent rust.
Ah, it's been a long time since I've watched this video.. we live in the desert. It'll be fine.
What fuel pump did u use??
Link in the description!
I got one similar but when I get low fuel the engine stall same on curves and when I make suddenly stops? Any suggestions?
Did you use the pump strainer it came with?
Garage Built Hondas Yes...and its not pointing forward its poiting to the side?
That's the problem. We didn't use the strainer. We went to AutoZone and bought the correct strainer which dips down into the gas tank.
You should make an off road Honda Civic mud tires lift and put a garbage can on top of it 😂
I've been wanted to so bad. Something to just tear through some dirt roads and desert areas we have out here!
Hello stranger haha
What's up man?!
all this and still has an a6?
Yup
I used these Tie rods before. the car became very unpredictable and felt like on ice especially in the wet. In fact the Ktuned tie rod ends are from the same factory which made the hardrace spherical tie rods. you might be better off with the HONED development complete geometry correction kit. honeddevelopments.com/product/honda-civic-cr-x-efed-complete-geometry-correction-kit/
I haven't heard one bad thing about these yet. Did you have it professionally aligned? The guys over at Refine Movement have a set on his track EK and he didn't have any issues either.
@@GarageBuiltHondas I've also heard bad things. It over corrects it.
Any links? I'd love to read about it. I've never seen those tie rods until he had brought them over.
Oh and mine snapped. Thank goodness it was just low speed and up a carpark ramp. Even when i tried giving it so much toe in, its still feels like its on ice. On the track i dont see any difference as compared to the standard tie rod ends apart that they give better feedback due to the rose joints.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll have him keep close eye on them.
