  • Front seat POV on Wild Wild West (now called Bandit) filmed in analogue in 1999 when the coaster was brand new. Sadly the coaster was pretty bumpy back then (when the park was known as Warner Brothers Movie World) and nowadays has a reputation of being a ride that sucks!

    This ride is one of the most rough rides I have ever rode. It really is brutal.

      Agreed - it was rough when brand new - that's never a good sign!

    Good old Warner Bros. Movie World times.. back when this ride and the whole park was brilliant

      The park was pretty good, this coaster wasn't great from day 1 however...rode like it had square wheels.

    They must have re tracked this thing recently because I rode it in April and it was pretty good for a classic wooden coaster

      That's good to read...it was painful and juddery when brand new!

      davidjellis It was definitely one of the better wooden coasters on my trip
      No where near as bad as Loup Garou at Walibi Belgium!

    Hi David! Would it be ok for me to use portions of this POV in an upcoming video I am working on? I will give full credit to your channel of course!

    • @davidjellis
      @davidjellis  3 года назад +1

      Providing it is not monetised I have no objections - just include a link to the original video in the description (credit to David Ellis). If it is monetised there is a risk my channel management will claim copyright, but if not monetised the risk is pretty low. Kind regards, David.

    the most painful ride in the world ! :-(

      +psyclonesteve I have ridden worse...but not many!

    • @davidjellis
      @davidjellis  9 лет назад +1

      +psyclonesteve I can do better than that and name a few...Son of Beast (Kings Island) , Tornado at M&Ds...then there is the Dragon at Adventureland, Ninja at SF over Georgia...and there's probably a few more I would place over this one...but that's not many when considering I've done over 1000 coasters!

    • @psyclonesteve
      @psyclonesteve 9 лет назад +1

      Your probably right David, I didn't get to ride Son of Beast, I rode the others you mention but none of them caused me as much pain as this monster .. No, not even Tornado ! ;-)

      @Hypernukeleosis_ 8 лет назад +1

      +davidjellis Haha, that's hilarious you mention the Ninja at SF over Georgia, everytime I went there as a kid that ride would give me a headache, just smashes your head back and forth, even made a friend throw up over the railings afterwards. I imagine it hasn't changed.

    Was this ride themed to the movie? The film Wild Wild West was also released in 1999, and was a Warner Bros Production. I’d be surprised if this ride didn’t have some sort of tie in to the film.

    • @davidjellis
      @davidjellis  6 лет назад +1

      Yes I recall it was tied in with the movie...shame it was so rough, even as new!

  • @Anrhok

    I dont know what the Problem is. I love this Coaster, its a bit Bumpy, but still, the oldest Wooden Coaster of Germany! And yes, definetly really bumpy.

    • @davidjellis
      @davidjellis  5 лет назад

      and that's the problem - coasters shouldn't be bumpy...this was bumpy when it was brand new...that's totally wrong.

    • @Anrhok
      @Anrhok 5 лет назад +1

      @@davidjellis I dont know how the original in Australia is, but if you tested it yet... well, at least its still the first and oldest wooden coaster in Germany.
      Try to test MP Express, its more Bumpy and hurts you.

    • @davidjellis
      @davidjellis  5 лет назад

      I rode MP Express when it was newer...and that was rough too. Not sure what you mean about an original in Australia...Wild Wild West was a clone of the Coney Island Cyclone in New York - there is no wooden coaster like this in Australia. It's a real shame that Germany's first wooden coaster was such poorly built.

    Talk about a long wait time before the drop, it practically stopped.
    Why does the ride suck now? Did they smooth it up and slow it down or something?

    • @davidjellis
      @davidjellis  8 лет назад +1

      +Hypernukeleosis Kirby I believe the slowing to a stop on the lifthill was a precautionary measure as the ride was new and they deliberately slowed the trains until the other train was safely though the final set of brakes. Was effectively acting as a block brake. The reference to the ride sucking was a comment raised by a number of club members on the most recent club visit to the park - fact is, the ride sucked from day 1.

    Wow, I got a headache from watching it. Sounds like they should have a nurses station at the exit handing out headache medication to the riders. Ouch!
