- How to make a tall floral design using gladiola and delphinium in a line and mass arrangement with twisted branch detail
Ingredients - gladiola, delphinium, ivy branch, heavy container and kenzan / pinholders
Both the materials in this design are long and linear - but we don’t have to use both in the same way. One can be linear and the other broken into units and then arranged to create mass.
So, this design has high impact as the materials are visually strong but used without other materials detracting from their beauty.

Superb
Literally just today I was working with sea holly at the store and didn’t know what it was called, so now I do! Gorgeous work as always
😊 thank you so much 🌼
I love the way the flowers look like they are growing next to a fallen tree. And the way you turned the delphiniums into meadow flowers in a cluster is amazing! I need to order some Galds from the florist tall and with the leaves still on. Back 20 years ago when I worked at the flower shop I would always make sheath bouquets of 7 stems with the full length. It was always fun presenting it to someone when I arrived to their home for dinner or a party.
Thank you 😊 that’s a good idea for a bouquet 💐
a sheath bouquet? post a pic please and share pls! I am intrigued, a designer in Canada, and I've heard of that style
@@flowershpGirl its like a flat tied bouquet - so for lying down, or over the arm. Looks like a single ended spray but tied 😀
Wow. every time your works are amazing! love it!
Its really the flowers that do the work - 😀🌼🌼🌼
Love this!!
Thank you 😊

Hi John! This sort of arrangement is right up my street! First off, I LOVE gladioli, especially white ones. I find they give great impact. And delphinium certainly satisfies my love for true blue flowers. I suppose it's because spikey flowers are most often tall, and I really am fond of large designs, that they are among my favorites. I really love snapdragons, too, tho' they are not so often used these days. At least not that I've seen. In any case, I so appreciate your talent and your ability to see, even in some ivy, a focal point for your designs. Hope you have a wonderful week, Friend!
Thank you so much 😊 I have seen snapdragons now for sale in bunches in supermarkets - in fact the range of garden type flowers available is now better. So we can all enjoy a bit more variety 😀
Thank you for your support - hope you have a great week 👋🌼🌻
Genious to see the potential in that ivy root, John! And I'm so glad you placed the sea holly in, I like it's unique texture among the delicate delphinium and smooth foliage of the glads 🥰. Thanks for a wonderful design!
Thank you 😊
I just ripped some dead ivy on my bricks. Interesting stems for sure but didn’t have the big wood cutting as you did. I was tempted to keep a few ivy cuttings for armatures but didn’t. Loved your linear design!
Initially I just had a big pile of waste ivy, but I remembered that bit and kept it when the pile was shifted! Maybe I’m a bit of a hoarder 🧐 but I’m happy I did with this!
❤Love it!!
I'm not sure your style, but you should get a antique picture frame to put your Flower Joos sign into and hang it on the wall. Great idea using the delphs as a lower flower element. They reminded me of forget me nots.
That’s a great idea! 😀 the sign was on the wall with Velcro but has developed a slight curve so fell off - it be needs to get hung back up - maybe in a frame!
@@FlowerJoos Maybe a shelf with some vases, a painting or photos, and/or a wreath too?
I think that's a beautiful piece for sympathy
beautiful John, but transport fan be problematic😂😂😂😂. thanks for Always the great idea. A darmi greeting. Saluti Nadia
Thank you 😊 yes - with transport we learn the hard way 🤪 🌼
love your arrangement! Will it be hard to move?
Thank you 😊 it wasn’t to bad - the wooden branch really created a good support for the whole design. But I wouldn’t put it in a van for delivery 🚚 😀
'promo sm' 😅
