Hi Aneesh, thank you for sharing this. I've been searching for an updated hair tutorial in Blender for the past few days. I've found some good ones but they're using the old Blender.
quick tip on the blur on top of the quindow you will find two menus "view" and "weights" there you will find a smooth option, good for cases when you don't want to do it manually or don't need to do it that way :)
hope you can answer, im doing a dog, a golden retriever, so i got the uv map for the texture paint, , now i want to add hair color , i did the same as you did, chosing vector for hair patches, like the tail and the back of the legs, legs, body and head, that part is ready so what i need now is the color, can the hair have the same color pattern as the texture paint? if so how you do it. have a nice one
This is sooo great, thanks! How should I export if I just want to export the hair / beard as a wig for a facefilter? I can only export it as an fbx with the face attached..
when i tried to color the particle(hair) for the viewport it always ends up applying the color to the whole mesh can you help ............nah im good solved
after export, the hair becomes very thin and there is no possibility to restore color and originality.? what to do before exporting? that is, it loses its quality after export the color fades ? how to export original hair (obj fbx abc)
hey man, really appreciate the tutorial but I can't figure out what you're saying at 5:30, when you turn on the children to interpolated, it doesn't do anything me. Can anybody help me figure this out please?
Great video! Im just getting into hair creation in blender and this was just what i needed! Was wondering: do you have a video series explaining what each setting does in more detail?
is it possible to add a character with hair and beard made like this on a website ? I want to know if they are visible or the character would be rendered hairless there ?
The character would look hairless, but you can do a thing here - you can convert the hairs to mesh after your grooming but it will become very high poly. websites can handle hair in polygon cards.
Would be helpful if someone explained how to use hair particles to make cotton or felt like materials where you can notice fibers hanging off in the render.
Why do you subdivide the first two keys? Is that so that they stay protruding out and they keep their root shape always? Does it essentially make the first three keys a root rather than just one? thanks!
So if I wanted to use this tutorial for polygonal hair (or hair for a game in in unreal engine) would I just use the screw modifier and create it as hair cards first? Any help or guidance from anyone is appreciated. DW
