Looks great, Taria! Thanks for the tour. You gave me an inspired idea. I've sketched with urban sketchers in NYC just a couple of times. (I'm a little intimidated) I do have a small toned sketchbook and that makes it more "doable." I'm thinking - bite-sized scenes. Your people sketching is looking good! Thanks for the encouragement from the southern hemisphere. (Love that you included Duncan. ) Cheers.
This is the best sketchbook you’ve ever shown online! It‘s absolutely adorable ❤ To leave your comfort zone made really the biggest difference. 🤩🤩 I will try to find the toned paper in my studio tomorrow. Thank you so much for inspiring me. 🥳
It's kind of funny that you struggled with the toned sketchbook, because you're the one who put me on to them! I LOVE the Nova series. My local Jerry's is getting rid of all theirs. They have large black and grey ones on clearance. If I had the money, I'd buy them all, but as it is, I did pick up a large black one. I already have the tri-tone one. The Nova series handles watercolor surprisingly well, but I mainly use ink, colored pencils, neocolors, acrylic markers -- all kinds of things. I also use gouache in the black sketchbook.
Really enjoying this sketchbook. I bought a grey toned sketchbook, drew in a few pages and then got flummoxed with where to go next. Going to try some of your suggestuons! ❤ thanks!
I love my Strathmore grey & tan toned sketchbooks. They're wire bound, so I have to be careful with them. I will make my own customized & durable cover, eventually. I am knew to sketchbooks so I wanted something inexpensive to learn in. I do like your S & B nicely bound toned sketchbook. Lots of great tips. I am ordering colored pencils for mine. I am still deciding on acrylic & brush markers.
I’m getting more into markers because I realized how much faster I can move when using them. Almost no dry time. I love watercolor but for urban sketching.. I might be switching to most watercolor markers. Do you have a fav brand? Winsor newton, albrecht dryer, tombow, ecoline? I have only one by Winsor newton and a bunch of tombows I want to try albrecht durer soon though
Silly question that I should know, what method do you use to best affix the tissue paper, receipts, etc. into the book so that you can draw and paint over them?
I would love to tray a toned sketchbook soon. Nice sketches!
This is brilliant, I should grab a toned sketchbook ☺☺
iI actually really like the feel of this book Taria.
That was really helpful, thanks 😊

Never used toned paper. Maybe one of these days I’ll try a toned sketch book. I enjoyed this video.
I'm glad I am not the only one who messes my perspective
LOVE ❤❤❤ your toned sketchbook. Especially love the collage paper added. What type of fixative are you using ? TFS all your amazing work 😊

Are you using any watercolor on toned paper or just markers
