This is one of the greatest movies ever. And as SCI-FI film, for 1991, probably the best one ever.
Fun fact: the camera crew refused to shoot the helicopter flying under the overpass scene because of safety reasons, so James Cameron filmed that scene himself 😊
And hired some crazy vietnam vet to do the flying, since it was indeed too dangerous for stuntmen.

14:22 love this screen, makes me feel included. Its just souch a inclusie movie before they even started trying.
I was 12 when I saw T2 in theater in 1991 with my dad. It was really mind blowing. Even today, I am still not bored watching it. It was nominated movie of the year and won several oscars and awards. One of my favorite terminator movie until today.
I was 17 when I saw the film in the cinema. I was so blown away that I saw it four more times the following week. I didn't want it to be over and have to experience it again and again.
That's how we all felt back in 1991. I was 9 years old. The theater which featured the BIGGEST 70mm screen in town was PACKED. The sound in this theater was phenomenal. We all jumped out of our skin when that first endoskeleton crushed the skull. We would never look at movies the same way again.
Today, I think it's safe to say that Terminator 2 Judgment Day is the greatest action film ever made. T2 is also one of the Top 3 sequels in film history, the other two being Aliens and The Godfather Part II.
In hindsight, it's a real shame Linda Hamilton wasnt nominated for T2. Her Sarah Connor is among the Top 3 greatest, strongest, most iconic female characters ever put on film.

"You have to lower me in. I cannot self terminate." so sad.
RIP 😭
Arnold became the highest paid actor in the world when he got paid for this role, 15 million. 20 years earlier he came to the USA speaking no english and having 20 dollars and one bag. Only to lose a bodybuilding contest. Then he stayed, and he never lost again, pretty much at anything. Stud.
Absolute legend 💪🏻
The demand for Schwarzenegger skyrocketed because of this movie. T2 made him a legend in Hollywood
These films do NOT operate with a fixed, fated timeline... the entire premise is based on machines and humans trying to change events. In the first Terminator film, Sarah asks Kyle if he's from the future, and he answers, "One possible future", meaning that changes made in the past DO affect future events by creating alternate timelines.
A deleted scene from part 1 shows Sarah getting taken away by ambulance crew and then the camera pans up and you see the building is called Cyberdyne. Plus another deleted scene shows a technician show another technician the broken chip and a cop walks by and says don’t touch anything until investigators are finished. So the technician pockets the broken chip.
I was 10 years old.. my old ass 60’s grandparents, my uncle, my dad, we HAD to see this. We drove an hour to see it. It was amazingly unreal. Best sequel ever.. ever!
I dropped many a quarter on a game over, at the arcade in the 90s. The peak decade of American society, in my opinion.
I wish i could watch this movie for the first time again but its great to see others reaction to the protagonist reveal
Was born in 82, so I grew up with this movie. The toys were awesome. 😂
fun fact- patrick (t-1000) used to be a sprinter in track, , and he practiced for this movie. they had to do 3 takes cause he kept catching up to the motorcycle and catching john lol
1. Linda Hamilton should have been at least an Acadamy Award for best actress.
2. My guess is that stove is hot🧐
3. We have limited AI now, so does China.😱😱
4. Arnold did many, but not all of his own stunts in this movie, including riding the motorcycle. At one point he was injured, and they had to stop production for a couple of weeks so he could recover.
5. Arnold is not left-handed, but the way he works that shotgun is impressive
6. The twin security guards also play in "Good Morning Vietnam".
7. GOOF: Enrique's dogs don't respond to "Uncle Bob" as a Terminator.
8. "I need a vacation" was ad lib.
9. This is the action movie GOAT.🤩
Those twins were also the cloned scientists in Gremlins 2, and the adult versions of the Tupperware twins in the Foreverware episode of Eerie Indiana.
The stuff they keep calling AI is nothing like Skynet, that's just what they want people to think so it seems more impressive
I, too, saw this in theatres when it came out. The T1000 was mind blowing! It was the coolest thing we had ever seen and freaked us right out. It was definitely at the forefront of the FX available at the time.
Side note: I watched an interview with Linda Hamilton and she said that she’d been trying to get her parents to come to the set and watch her work. They were finally able to make it…on the day they had to film the scene where the guy licked her face. They had to do the scene multiple times and she was mortified that her parents had to watch it lol
Also, Linda has a twin sister and she is in this movie, too. The scene where she’s looking on the playground and it looks like Sara is there with a bunch of kiddos is actually her sister. I believe her name is Leslie.
Not only does the CGI hold up, but at the time this movie came out, it was cutting edge. No one had ever done those morph effects so extensively and integrally in a movie before.
I remember when this got an Oscar for best sound. They showed the clip of the fuel leaking out of the trunk with the battery connectors sparking the ignition.
Bloody deleted scenes
I was in my early 20s when this movie came out, and yes, it's was cutting edge stuff! It's almost like Arnold's character arch was spread over two movies.
What made you think they were both Terminators?
When the Narration says Skynet sent two Terminators back in time, she means the one from the last film and the one from this film. That's why it's a twist that Arnold is the good guy.
Yep 11/10. 30 years later and it's still one of the best of all time in every aspect. And it hits so hard, that thumbs-up at the end. It was a MAGIC time to grow up with this kind of cinema, I feel bad for every generation before and after.
I saw it in the theater. It was mind blowing. Unfortunately the trailers and hype blew the surprise that Arnold was the good guy. It is a blast watching a whole new generation react to this without the spoiler.
You are right. I watched this movie as a kid(despite my parents forbidding it) and by that time's standards, the special effects and the action was completely out of this world.
💯
I was in the theatre at 91 to watch that masterpiece about 6 times when i was 16. 😅 Best Actionfilm ever… period!
_"...fixed point..."_ Somebody's been watching Doctor Who.
This is the greatest sequel of ALL TIME, and my favorite movie of all time.
Evil terminator is Robert Patrick. He did X-files for a while, but my personal favorite (outside of this) is he played Dr. Benway in a real fucked up (and real GOOD) horror movie called Autopsy. If you ever get into horror, that's DEFINITELY one to check out.
He also plays a really great bad guy in Reacher season 2
He absolutely nailed the T-1000
Which interestingly co-stars Jenette Goldstein
@@Gurra88 Is that really the same chick, the foster mom or whoever she was? Wow!
A comedy called 'Wayne's World' has an excellent spoof of this movie. It is only about 15 seconds, but it is worth it.
How would he know that they sent 2 terminators back in time? That’s not what Sarah says in the narrative….
They were able to send a lone warrior, a protector for John = terminator dispatched?
I saw T2 in theaters with my father about 3-4 times when i was 5 years old (yes, my father was crazy LOL). T1 and T2 are my favourites movies ever.
PD: My ranking: T1 > T2 >>>>>>>>>>> T4 > T5 >>>>>>>>>> T3 > T6
Seeing this at 10 yrs old at a drive in movie theater, my number 1 movie experience hands down. The Dark Knight is my 2nd, T2 will reign as the best action film for me, nothing today has come close
Hell yes Cap, so excited to watch this one. T2 is amazing. Honestly, the first 2 are the only ones I care about even though I've seen all the others. Cheers, bro!
Edit: So glad that the fact that Arnie is the good Terminator didn't get spoiled for you. I was 9 when this movie came out and I remember the trailers coming on TV and they completely gave away that twist!
🫡
By the end of this movie, you will FULLY understand the hatred that every sequel post this one has gotten.
Welcome to the other side.
Geez Louise you got me nervous to watch the rest 😳
I saw the movie on VHS when it came out, but unfortunately not in theaters. I managed to see Jurassic Park in 1993 though, that was sick.
I saw this on the premiere night in London Leicester Square and it was like a riot outside the cinema. I got lucky and bought a returned ticket at the box office.
I was at opening night, first showing at midnight on 07/04/91. The line went through the parking lot. It was like you said.
this is what made the 1887s awesome after the old westerns so when they ended up in mw2 it was glorious. also Stan Winston and his studios are legend. fam took me opening night and was the only movie i shed a tear to ever at the time. would carry that arnie T800 battle damages action figure everywhere as a kid.
Big Arnold and Silvester Stallon Movies Rules! They are noth Numero Uno among many other performers. Once again, I enjoed it too. Have a Blessed Day. Adios.
Didn't see it in cinema, we were far too young, but my friend managed to get a pirated copy on VHS, filmed via camcorder in the cinema lol.
So the quailty was really bad, you could hear and see the audience more than the film for the most part.
I guess it's quite interesting, as it's an early example of a mass reaction video. You could even hear some people gasping and saying "what the F!" when they revealed the twist of Arnie being the good guy.
Pretty sure the tape is still at my parents somewhere, would be interesting to clean up the footage using modern techniques and upload it as a genuine OG reaction video.
Your reaction was great too. Yes the FX back then were crazy. So was the hype, everyone at school was talking about it.
Cheers!
The actor that played Dyson also played a guy named Henry in the TV show Eureka. Fun show if you like sci-fi stuff.
back in the day it was common for adults to compliment you on your childrens looks.. happened to me all the time because i had blue eyes.. it doesnt happen these days because everyone thinks you wanna be a creep...
Great review - best movie of all time. Loved it when it came out - had movie posters on bedroom wall and landmark movie in history
20:30 Edward Furlong. Unfortunately, he was another actor who fell victim to the child actor Hollywood curse, and although he is still alive was robbed of a lifelong prosperous career. The only other movie worth seeing him in is AMERICAN HISTORY X
Yeah I read about him after watching this. Quite sad and unfortunate but he seems to be doing well these days 🤞🏻
My all time favorite film
Amazing movie
Fax
Could I imagine being there in 91 and seeing this for first time? Yes, I was there. Lol it did make a big impact because cgi was in its infancy and this was a big leap. Jurassic Park only had bigger impact and that was just a year after this. Together it was kind of a coming out party for CGI, brought to you by james Cameron and next year Spielberg.
I DIDNT REALIZE IT WAS CHUCK, I LOVE THAT SERIES
How good!!!
T3 is actually not such a trainwreck in and by itself, but its problem is that it wants to be the sequel to the masterpiece that is T2, and that was always going to be an incredibly hard act to follow! (Also, it necessarily became ever harder to hide that Arnold is actually an aging human like the rest of us, whereas the Terminators are supposed to be identical models from an assembly line. The more recent sequels try to sell us the idea that over time, the flesh cover of a Terminator can "age" just like a human would.)
The post-T2, non-Cameron sequels are best regarded as "fan fiction" by other writers and directors. If you find something to enjoy in them, well and good, but we don't have to take them entirely seriously or treat them as "canon." Terminator proper is a duology consisting of T1 and T2, period.
8:45 yes he's a Terminator sent back in time to kill somebody wants him alive to kill him that makes perfect sense or if you were listening in the beginning two were sent back a protector and one to kill him
10:00 no he's not trying to kill John he just feels like hitting him on his bike with his truck for no reason
Based on your comment on how they think they are changing things when it may already be fixed in time, is why I suggest watching Terminator 3. I thinks it a good movie with a profound message.
my exwife LOVED beauty and the beast series with hamilton, i watched it with her just to see linda lol
You know your shotguns. I'm impressed!
I played too much call of duty growing up 😅
@@CaptainTinny LOL!
9:14 my God it's like he's a robot can that explain why he runs so fast DUH
WHEREVER ARNIE GOES HE GETS THOSE LOOKS NAKED OR NOT LOL
I saw it at the theaters. I was an adult. To be honest, I didn't like it very much. First, it reeked of money. At $102 M, I thought it was lacked the rawness of the first one. Second, Arnold had become a big star by now, so to me it was a cop out to make Arnie the good guy. I went specifically to see him play the bad guy and was disappointed. Third, I wanted to see Sarah kick his ass again but now she actually likes him! I thought it was flashy, the story not as original as T1 and with all the fancy FX basically it was made to appeal to 10 yr old boys. (Example, the super sentimental thumbs up ending. 🙄) Anyway, at 16 times the budget of the first one, Cameron did what he wanted to do. He made a bunch of money and said "Good bye" to it.
12:42 do they need a ride down in crayon for you they're DEAD
Greetings from Finland man!!! Great reaction and I'd like 2 see your reaction to Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation witch is the best sequel after judgment day if you ask me!!! Edward Furlong played John Connor is great in American history x and you should definitely check it out!!! "I'll be back" 😎
HASTA LA VISTA
10:38 wow really what's your first clue he's a different kind of Terminator I also could not have figured that out
I recommend The Witches of Eastwick. 1987 with Jack Nicholson. I didn't find any reactions to it, maybe you're interested. I love this movie. Genre: mystical comedy with elements of black humor and horror.
I’ll add it to the list ✅
You watching Terminator 2 Extended Special Edition 2h.36m.
16:39 how are they going to kill him I don't know but I have a theory and that is if you keep quiet and watch the movie you'll find out how they kill him
The Greatest in Action / SciFi cinema and my favourite film of all time! Every movie after this is shit. Plus the story is kinda done on this film. I will say I enjoyed the film Terminator Salvation but it's no T2.
Terminator 3 was produced under another licensee. They purchased the rights to Terminator and wanted to make another movie for money. It sucked and a lot of people do not consider it a sequel. The story sucked and the acting kind of sucked with mostly unknown actors. The only reason why people would want to go see it was because Arnold was in it.
Of course you should watch T3. Is it as good as T2, possibly the best sequel in movie history? No, it’s not. Is it better than 99% of anything made in the last five years? Easily. It’s kind of a cash grab with fan Easter eggs mixed into n. It’s just a lot of fun. Remember back when movies just needed to be fun?
Its not the directing that makes t3 sub par, its the really poor script.
Ironically the ending is pretty decent. Everything up to the ending make little or no sense.
It's a shame we didn't advise you to watch the director's cut or extended version of T2. The scene that were cut really added to the storytelling and were fun to watch. And about the dog at his foster parents' home, John told the Terminator that the dog's name was Max, but when the Terminator mimicked John's voice he called the dog Wolfie. Because the foster mom didn't question the name change it's assumed that the foster Mom, and Dad in the background, are or will soon be dead.
thats not first time watching
Fun fact no one wants to mention: John's age is a huge continuity error. He's supposed to be 10 years old in this movie as it's set in 1994. The terminator literally says judgment day happens three years later (1997). However when the T1000 looks him up in the computer it says his date of birth is 2/28/85 stating he's 10 years old. Then the movie should take place in 1995 despite the terminator saying judgment day is three years away.
In T3 John says Skynet tried to kill him for the second time when he was 13 which stirs the pot even more. So John is 9, 10 and 13 at the same time in this movie.
The film does take place in 1995.
Don't watch the Turd one
Great! It is very interesting to see your detailed reactions to the films Terminator 3 and Robocop. These are cool movies 🦾🤖🔥
Do you have any plans to do it?
