Today, I wanted to talk about the PLAYSTATION 3: Sony Computer Entertainment's 7th Generation Video Game Computer Entertainment System. The PLAYSTATION 3 / PS3 leaves behind an interesting legacy as Sony Interactive Entertainment focuses on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation VR, and even PlayStation Vita in some territories.
The PLAYSTATION 3, would originally launch with the 20GB and 60GB models alongside the PLAY B3YOND Campaign, one of the most interesting and in some cases, strange marketing campaign in PLAYSTATION's history.
Join me as I tell the tale of the PlayStation 3, and Sony's 10 long years on the market place.

Hello everyone!
bought a ps3 at a pawn shop for $80. i havent regretted it one bit
Don't forget it's also a BD 3D player, its Cross-Buy, Cross-Play, and Remote-Play capabilities with the PSP and PSVita, you can easily replace the hard drive with a 2TB laptop hard drive, a multi A/V outlet for the old school games, and you can wirelessly connect your desktop, laptop, and/or tab so you can download, upload, and/or stream your videos, music, and pics to your tv and/or your PSP and PSVita while on the go.
Too me the first gen PS3 is the ultimate PlayStation system backwards compatible!
the PS3 had a huge blunder at launch and lots of issues but despite that, the mid to latter part of last gen Sony did a miraculous turnaround
Got a PS3 near the end around august 2011. Some of the best memories in gaming with Uncharted 2,3 and Last of US, God of war 3 and Tale of series. Great console :)
I bought a PlayStation 3 near the end of its lifecycle in 2012 and I loved it, it made some fond memeries for me playing it
The PlayStation 3 really was two completely different systems in its lifespan, but what it is right now stands as one of my favorite consoles, full stop. The library of exclusives is insane, it has so many unique RPGs that came out in the late part of its life. Also, the amazing library of digital PSone titles
Man, those Kevin Butler ads were golden! I wish they would’ve kept him even after those contractual conflicts.
Great video!
you forgot to mention that it's the only system that uses XDR DRAM for ram. GPU has GDDR3.
Kevin Butler sold me my Sony Sexbox.
PlayStation 3 is the best console especially with PlayStation Home. Such an underrated service
Ok so the PS3's achilles heel when it launched was the price but like mentioned in the video the Ps3 actually cost way more than what it was selling for... So the claim "Sony became greedy" is wrong or was Sony too ambitious?
I still have and play my 60 gb ps3 and I’ll never let it go. There are soooo many great games to play on it
I remember when these PS3 commercials almost always came on at night and it freak me out
I still use 2 old fat ps3s for media devices. One sits next to the ps4 pro proudly hooked to the 4k
I was lucky enough to be able to buy the 60 gb model the year it came out. I still have it, I've got Road Rash one of my favorite games ever. Today I used my Playstation 3 to watch Jurasic Park in 3d blue ray. This system was by far the best of the best and I wouldn't ever get rid of it for a slim model. I will most likely buy a PS 5 when that comes out, however the Playstation 3 in my eyes is one of the greatest things that's ever been invented ever.
Your hair is so luscious.
