I agree no walks in extras, however I think if you get 5 balls the strike count should reset to 0. You need to penalise bad/inconsistent pitching.

When Chris Rose was talking with Patrick Mahomes right after the Super Bowl, you could tell Rose’s heart wasn’t in it. I mean, that was just some football game. He was clearly thinking about the Warehouse games.
Wish Mahomes could play in the Blitzball tournament. Him and Kyler or Russel Wilson as a team in the future? The “baseball player” NFL guys getting in the warehouse would be great.

@@Reavezz nah he was basically the same the whole time as I saw it. Up until two outs in the 2nd inning he was dealing then he just got yipped up. Definitely needs to work on some command still but the movement is insane

I think Zo got some electricity ⚡️ put in him when he hit that outlet. Gets up to the plate at blasts 3 HR in one inning. Super hero origin story stuff ⚡️
Jimmy is a dangerous hitter. Very patient. Will wait for something he can drive. He is going to be an extremely difficult out for everyone. He'll quickly get the hang of pitching too, ie knowing where the hot zones are and begin to avoid them. He uses many different arm.angles and motions. Trust me, his off-speed stuff is filthy. First game was a feeling out process.
Fantastic game overall. The extra inning rules still just feel awful to watch. Essentially rewarded Dan for not being able to locate.

Jimmy and company knew EXACTLY what they were doing setting this matchup as the opener of the Warehouse Cup and boy did it deliver.
Yes I agree there should be some penalty for balls in the swingoff...HOWEVER it literally wouldn't have mattered here, it was a strikeout on a full count if I counted correctly. But the idea of strikes resetting after 5 balls makes a lot of sense. Who knows if they change something going into the next game since these are all pre-recorded, but they could since the "balls don't count" rule doesn't technically do anything in this game.
I think 5 balls is a run, balls reset, strikes don’t. So you are up until you: get a hit, strike 3 times, or ground/pop out. But every 5 balls is an extra run.

This has to be my favorite single Warehouse game ever played. Knorp fits in so well, and this game had everything. Maybe my four favorite people now.
not gonna lie, still hate the extra innings rules, just rewards wild pitchers with no control because you're allowed to throw an infinite number of balls, and punishes disciplined hitters who know how to work counts
i get that it's in the interest of making more entertaining content but it just feels noncompetitive. at least do something like, if you throw 5 balls the strikes reset to 0, or if you throw 5 balls they get a free lob pitch or something. there needs to be some sort of punishment for throwing balls aside from just "they have to throw more pitches!!!"
The swing off has at least one major flaw. All you have to do is use your wild pitcher. They don't pitch often anyway so they aren't worried about fatigue. Then the batter has to wait forever for a decent pitch, and the wild pitcher has no consequences for throwing 20 bad pitches in a row. It's not a bad idea but the swing off can be exploited.

‘Total # of balls thrown’ should still be a swing off tie breaker. Incentives even more strikes quicker and prevents multiple innings of swing offs.
Or have the strike count reset to 0 if you get balls.
As I think Dan's wild pitching made it hard for Zo to get his eye in.

For extras you could start with the bases loaded, or runner on second.
I don't doubt that the pitchers don't want to throw more than they have to and I totally agree that ending a game in extras on a walk would suck, but there has to be SOME tangible consequence for not throwing strikes. Some ideas after a quick think and a brief look at the comments:
1. Balls reset the count: Could be too harsh, but would penalize pitchers with higher pitch counts and encourage more risky, over the plate pitching.
2. Balls accumulate into bases: Essentially this what a walk already is as 5 (or however many) would add 1 base to the hitter's total, but they could continue their at bat as usual and everything else stays the same.
3. Balls as a tiebreaker: This would track how many balls are thrown during an at bat and should the batters tie on base count, then the batter who saw more balls (not necessarily pitches) would win. You could make it more balanced by saying this only comes into effect if both batters actually record bases so that the game can never end on a ball.
Love the work you guys have been doing and maybe there are some other conditions that we just don't know about encouraging this decision, but it's really unfortunate that the most liked comment (currently) on such an instant classic warehouse match is about the scoring of a silly overtime period

No ball rule there sucks. No penalty for missing the zone means the hitter has to work harder/cover corners more and the pitcher can nibble all the want. I get ending on a walk sucks but there has to be some penalty for the pitcher

The 5 run limit/inning is a great rule HOWEVER, I think runners on should be able to score. For example, if you’ve scored 4 and the bases are loaded when you go yard you’d end the inning with 8 runs. Surly this has been suggested before?

People need to throw Jimmy risers. There’s no overhand riser in MLW, so he pretty much has to learn how to hit a new pitch
Jack has got to get it together. He’s not been good in his last Warehouse games

Drawing walks is hard to do, especially with a crop of talented pitchers. No need to penalize people's ability to do so. Watching a dude throw like Aroldis Chapman and hopefully luck out into a strikeout isn't compelling, especially when he can bean as many people as he wants.
SUGGESTION: when you get 5 runs in the first inning, the outs you didn’t get should carry over to the second inning. Like in this case Ice scores 5 and made 2 outs. So it should be 4 outs in the second inning.
So nice to have Chris Rose back! After Ball in Play, I’m dying to know who’s gonna ride the D to the championship!
