That's a nice running machine, Joe! I like how it essentially takes care of itself, from the time you hit the power button until you shut it down. That's sweet! Next step now is to throw some meat at it and see what it does. This is actually the first *new* cooker you've bought since the little Weber, isn't it?
Hi there awesome video. I just got my ys640s few days ago. Ran the burn in process and did another test run after that. Just had a question. My smoker was much hotter on the right side like almost 100° hotter on the right. And the temperature were all over place. Was fluctuating like crazy and wouldn't stay consistent at the temp set. Was wondering if you had any tips for how to control the temp and also keep it even throughout the chamber.
Thanks for the info. I ordered mine today but won't have it for another week or two. Your presentations would be better if you can work on the sound..........Sorry but it made it difficult to keep track of what I though you were saying.
great video Southern Coastal Cooking hey I love Yoder products I have a Loaded Wichita a very fine cooker but I'm looking into theses pellet cookers would love some feed back on how's the smoke ring and smoke taste it would be nice to have something that is a little easier on the cooks but still have the great taste and color have good one
I want to make the jump to electric smokers, but i dont want to lose that charcoal flavor. Could you put small chunks of broken up charcoal in the burn pot?
SmokeyGoodness Well on the thickness of the metal alone on the pellet hopper I can see why it probably insulates the fan noise so much more and I would think the fans in these bad boys are a little more high tech than in my old smoker
+Southern Coastal Cooking ™ hey man I'm going to do my burn process today but I have a probe port and I can't get it sealed completely! Is that gonna be ok to go ahead and do the burn in? Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't matter
+Southern Coastal Cooking ™ thanks man bought it from grills of Mississippi lol I'm from meridian so not to far from you but I wanted to make sure I don't wanna mess anything up I have it sealed pretty good but I can still see a little space in the probe port?
Is this machice capable of slow cooking without an over powering smoke flavor? For instance if you wanted to cook chicken wings, can you do it without the smoke?
+pscans1234 yes you can cook with very little smoke if you would use a light flavored pellet like 100% Maple and pellet smoke is a lighter smoke to begin with
I appreciate the video. Thanks for the tutorial. My burn-in has commenced.
Mine arrives Wednesday, and I'm a visual learner so thanks much for the video and information man!
Good deal let me know what you think when it arrives
Just finished the first cook with 2 pork butts, the damper is going to take some getting used to but came out fantastic!
Anyone out there finance the Yoders? Asking for a broke friend....
I’m literally about to do burn off on my 640. Glad I watched this first! Thanks bro!
Why the hell would someone dislike this video? Idiots.
Because he made it too complicated. All you need to do is start it at 350 with everything in it and let it run for an hour.
Yeah real nice Smoker Joe, you are going to have fun with that one. I can't wait to see what you do first on it.
Lumpy Q thank you very much, I piled some brisket and pork butts on it Saturday turned out real good
What differences have you noticed in the smoke flavor in your meat between a pellet smoker and a traditional offset wood burning smoker?
Mine was delivered 20 min ago. This video is awesome. Thanks brother
Thank you, I know you will love it
