- Welcome to 狛猙拳 (Hak-So-Ken), a unique martial art that blends the rich traditions of Shaolin Kung Fu with the principles of Roman Catholic faith. Named after the cherubim depicted on the Ark of the Covenant, 狛猙拳 embodies the spirit of reverence, discipline, and love.
At 狛猙拳, we believe in fostering not only physical strength and skill but also the virtues of human dignity, self-discipline, resilience, and love. Our classes are designed to provide a comprehensive training experience that nurtures both body and soul.
We offer three distinct courses to accommodate practitioners of all levels and interests:
1: Dragon Course: This intensive program is designed for dedicated individuals seeking a deep immersion in martial arts practice. Participants undergo rigorous training, including sparring sessions that test their skills, resilience, and ethical understanding based on Roman Catholic faith. Entrance into the Dragon Course requires a demonstration of English proficiency, sparring ability, and a commitment to upholding the ethical principles of our faith.
2: Wolf Course: The Wolf Course offers a balanced approach to martial arts training, suitable for those with less time or experience. Participants engage in regular training sessions supplemented by shorter assignments, focusing on developing physical fitness, basic skills, and an understanding of Roman Catholic ethics. Entrance into the Wolf Course requires a basic proficiency in English, familiarity with radio exercises (ラジオ体操), and a willingness to embrace the values of our faith.
3: Rabbit Course: The Rabbit Course prioritizes health, well-being, and emotional balance through martial arts movements. Open to individuals of all backgrounds and beliefs, this course emphasizes gentle exercises derived from combat techniques, promoting physical fitness and mental wellness without the need for sparring or religious affiliation.
At 狛猙拳, we believe that martial arts training is not just about physical prowess but also about cultivating the virtues of the heart and soul. Our curriculum aligns with the principles outlined in the Roman Catholic Catechism, particularly paragraphs 2263-2267, which affirm the right to self-defense while emphasizing the importance of proportionality, necessity, and the avoidance of harm. We strive to uphold these principles in our teachings and practice, guiding our students towards a path of virtuous living and spiritual growth.
Join us at 狛猙拳 and embark on a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and love through the art of martial arts.

Is this a joke? 😂
Thank you for your comment! If you’d like to see how serious we are about Christianity and martial arts, feel free to check out our other videos where I’m not down from injury. In those, you’ll see the dedication and seriousness we put into our practice. That said, I understand the confusion with this particular video. Due to my hands being fractured and having surgery, I was low on energy and ended up teaching in my t-shirt and underwear, which had a two-inch hole exposing more than I intended. I had to censor parts of the video to avoid issues with RUclips. Despite the humorous moments, including my comment to think about funny things to help my students relax, we take our practice very seriously. I appreciate your understanding!
