    Notice that when the Orca gets closer to the boat, she did a barrel roll which signifies that she meant no harm to the boat or to the people in it, she was just having fun. That roll is one of their best way of saying hey calm your nerves and don't be scared for we are together.😀

    Lucky you!! Orcas are the most magnificent creatures alive. Such massive power and intellect, with a brain of such advanced emotional section..bonding, family..that we can't even fathom.

    I wonder if they can sense our excited vocal chords through echo location and the find that funny and entertaining if they show there tummy's to you I feel like it's been playful

      they make a shield for the prop to protect marine life, now. It should be mandatory.

    I believe the worst noise for sub-aquatic marine life is submarine pings (sonar) which are very loud (240db) and depth charges and other ordnance fired by navy ships during training and testing. I also believe that when whole pods of whales and dolphins get stranded on beaches it has to do with either one of these two things.

    Fascinating and intriguing, until reflecting on the harmful impact that human sub-aqua noise is known to be having on marine animals.
    (And standing on deck in an open boat without a BA...which is another story, but I saw him stumble...hmmmmmm.)

      You’d be surprised. A lot of marine mammals know the safety zone. Like a lot of times you see orcas and dolphins riding with boats is because they’re actually interacting or just playing. They learn by experience like we do

      @@tanneradams20 Have you seen the horrific injury new Zealand orca named Ben suffered? You can't learn by mistakes if you're chopped into pieces.😓

      They may well be able to identify the threat better than humans, their awareness under the water is something we would have no concept of. But a hard fast moving object is something we all as animals have instincts about even the smallest animals have threat awareness. But humans can also walk in front of a car so accidents can also happen.

    It's illegal to run your engines when an Orca or any whale is that close in both US and Canadian waters.
