- 'Sister Wives' star Gwendlyn Brown is keeping it real when it comes to her family's drama! The 21-year-old daughter of Kody and his ex, Christine, posted a candid reaction video on RUclips to episode 2 of season 17 of the TLC series, which originally aired back in the fall. When it came time for fan questions, they were quick to ask Gwendlyn about Kody's only remaining wife, Robyn, whom he's legally married to and whom many have assumed to be his 'favorite.' She admitted, 'I don't really like her as a person. Watching her [on 'Sister Wives'] makes me like her less, for sure.'
"So for us, plural marriage DOESN'T work."
"For us MARRIAGE doesn't work."

The intonation and cadence that you hear is a Utah "accent" for lack of a better word. As a native Utahn myself, I love to hear this pattern of speech. It's heavily influenced by our Mormon faith. The Browns are not mainstream LDS, but the two faiths share the same roots. I think it's lovely!

Christine has done a stellar job raising her kids and also helping raise Janelle’s. That’s a lot of kids she took care of. And yet Robin “needs “ a nanny for two little ones when she has older kids to help AND she doesn’t work outside the home.
She doesn’t need to put the responsibility of “helping” with the younger kids on the older ones. She chose to have kids and she has her hubby all to herself. The parents need to parent their kids!

What is wrong with “helping” that doesn’t mean the older have all the responsibility know the difference. I’m sure you need help at some point in your life. As we get older we ALL need help.
By choosing a favourite wife, Kody is responsible for the breakdown of his marriages and relationship with his chilldren. Now that the show will have to be cancelled as there are no more "sister wives," he will have to go get a job

She sounds like a very sweet and mature young woman. But I wish she knew that it’s her father‘s job to reach out to her not the other way around. She has a big heart just like her mother and I know she doesn’t want to pick sides. But it’s never a child’s responsibility to try and have a relationship with a parent. It’s always on the parent.

Parent-child relationship, sibling relationship etc.). You have your favourites and that's it. And it doesn't matter who gets in touch first.

Robyn says she has a nanny to help her for when Kody is gone and with the other wives! What the heck?! She only has two small children. The other children are pretty much grown. She can’t handle that on her own?! I raised my four children alone as a divorced mom from the time they were practically babies! And I didn’t even have sister wives or family helping. What’s Robyn having kids for if she can’t take care of them? I’m feeling she really isn’t mother material.

Totally agree. I’m so glad she’s happy and happy for her mom. Robyn seems to not be able to have any conversation without FAKE crying !!! And is just so mean towards everyone except Robyn. There’s not one thing that has happen that he did that he will take the blame for. Not defending Kody at all, can't stand him or his one man pity party but the wives knew when they entered a plural marriage and each of them had kids that he would have to divide his time between each household. Unless they all continued to live in one house, there was no way he could be there 24/7 for everyone. Do any of the kids feel any resentment towards their mother for choosing that way of life?
I think they understood that but they didn’t anticipate him marrying his “soulmate” and completely not wanting to be around them anymore after decades of marriage. Savannah described that he behaved like a visitor which means that he showed them how much he was itching to go back to Robyn.
Ultimately, he has a responsibility to his children and to see him treat another man’s kids better than his own must hurt. It’s the real “knife in the kidneys” lol

She needs to quit reaching out to her dad. It just feeds his ego adding to his delusion that everyone still needs him. Gwenlyn, IF he wants to truly be a father to you and part of your life, HE will make the effort and find the time. If not, then let him go. Once you realize that your father is just a man, another human, and not this idealized version of what fathers are supposed to be, you'll be much happier and freer. Trust me......I know.
