This is the voice I fell in love with. Perfect tone (richness, beauty), vibrato, resonance and power, all while being very sad and affected. I guess aging is no good for anybody. She still has a good technique and can belt some high belts, but the magic and youthfulness of the voice is definitively lost.
Her life got really hard in 2016. Up to that point, she still sang like this. She doesn’t seem very passionate about anything since her husband died, except her children. I think her husband and brother dying within three days of each other in 2016, both of cancer, and then her mom dying earlier this year, really took it out of her. In interviews now, she seems kind of listless. It’s really sad but that’s life, I guess.

It just dawned on me that that this incredibly talented singer only had a piano and her amazing voice do the song..when she sings thats the way it is and now this Sinatra standard, I get emotional and I don't know why!!
