My theories:
The Jean that gave birth is actually Madelyne Pryor
Because of the baby, Scott will be conflict on his position in the team and Storm forces him to leave and be a father by fighting him like in the comics
Both episodes were X-cellent
I love the build up and surprises.

It's amazing how with all those movies, they never got Storm right, and right away, X-Men 97 nailed it. I loved these two episodes. And the early nerfing of Storm is leading to an arc. I am TRUSTING this writing after seeing these two episodes.

Exactly. Those FOX-Men films got progressively worse after X2 and even the first two films didn’t quite get the X-Men right.

That is so lazy. Trust the writers. What you mean is. You've never read any comics, and your entire base of reference was the animated series. The writers had nothing to do with how xmen movies turned out. That was done to the studio pushing things to appeal to a more white male audience. It's why storm had such a reduced role
Magneto’s devotion to his own code and his respect for honor has never wavered. “Don’t make me let you down” is the hardest statement I’ve heard in a long time. That tear drop was crazy!!!
They finally got my girl perfect. The Mohawk, the power increase, and they got rid of the corny dialogue. Storm was finally the goddess she should have been. Then they take away her powers and make you FEEL IT. that was brutal.🥺😭

I think it was, narratively, a smart decision. It's hard to write a compelling story when you got an "omega level" hero. Thus they showed how powerful she is in order to visualise for the viewer the reason why she had to be removed from the narrative. Else it would be the Captain marvel problem all over again.
Magneto dropped that 1 tear like DENZEL in GLORY. That's that "I'M PISSED OFF TEAR DROP" He knows exactly what he's doing. There's only 1 main thing everyone does when making an omelette.....

I was honestly waiting for a mutant birth, and the actual sentiment of Jean expressing that to Storm of all people was the feeling that Black mothers share in common. Just to wish our children were "born human" or at least worthy of human treatment.

I’m so bummed Storm lost her powers because that’s scene was soooo epic!! One of the coolest animated X-men scenes ever!! And now we have to go through the whole Forge Storm love story. Hopefully they adapt it and don’t make us go through three years of this.

marvel will never do that. They're always tunnel-visioned in that if it's an x-men story then characters rarely interact with non-mutant heroes and showcase a deeper and connected universe. The only time we go that was the wolverine and captain America story

And in so doing I own an 80 year collection of superheroes live action film and tv series along with cartoon animation of entire series I’ve collected in the Marvel brand of superhero comics. I saw Blade in theaters with my father, who passed before the first avengers had assembled.
Asking how to ground and multiverse in Spider-Man 4 is as easy as reviewing TAS where Carnage & Venom crash a Stark expo, Warmachine and Spidey intervene, and with Stark pulling out the tech ends up in the hands of Kingpin, enter a daredevil atom holland storyline, the time dilation portal projector creates the Spot, enter live action Miles Morales,… which Madame Web’s film should have had Sony birth in 2003, rather than a privileged Peter not attached to any film. Had Mike Epps been Officer Jefferson Davis, Donald Glover setup as Prowler Aaron Davis would be evident, let alone 2018, Miles would be 15 & Into the Spideverse

When Xavier was assassinated he relapsed and almost went full Mutant warfare on humanity but dialed it back to give Xavier one last fighting chance to live and for the last year has been in isolation, hopefully making amends with Wanda and Pietro.
@@leonardobraynen1524people don't just change cold turkey. There are subtle nuances in their behavior that show you, and that goes over time. It's called character development. It's the reason people like the Hulk aren't mindless idiots. Or why Magneto is a hero in the comics now.

Omg the copper/ mystique and magneto working together on this makes complete sense.
I was impressed with the way Jubilee pushed Wolverine back with her plasma sparks and her dancing animation. I loved seeing Storm wreck those sentinels. There are probably a lot of people who confuse Cyclops' optic blasts with Superman's heat vision.
The Apocalypse line was HILARIOUS
That alt world where Magneto was leader was WILD. The X-men are also fighting Marvel heroes in that universe. The Avengers (minus the heaviest hitters) and Daredevil I believe. And I did like the AoA vibes giving us Mimic and Blink.
I definitely got Mystique vibes from Copper too

New rockstars you really need to go back and read the 90’s X-men. So much of what happened on the show was based on what was happening in the comics at the time with slight variations. It looks like they’re following the same pattern.

I was too baked watching these, they got me with Morph’s Deathstrike then when Jean showed up at the end I was like wait how much time has passed since they left the mansion, after just watching them talk in that room 😅😂 then I see Scott and Jean in the back and it all just hits me like wait that’s Madelyne Scott just had a baby with? Which makes sense as Nathan is Cable, son to Scott and Madelyne, like I said, too baked 😂

I really don't want Magneto to have planned everything. I do think it is fine if he expected rioters to break through and he will have intervene to show his goodwill, but I really want him to genuinely want to protect them all, and would not do something like take away Storm's mutation.
The fact that Magneto being able to be redeemed feels important that his crusade was genuine, and the demonisation of freedom fighters who don't do things the cleanest way are not lost.
Gambit had potential to be omega level but that was before he went to mister sinister oh and scarlet witch is too

As someone who didn't grow up with The Animated Series, But is a Big Fan Of The X-Men, These Two Episodes Were Fantastic!!! It made Me really Happy to see a really Great Cyclops in these Episodes because while I Love The X-Men Movies, Cyclops never got to do that much in them, So It's Nice to see Him Be The Leader that He is! And it was So Sad to see Storm lose her Powers! I hope we do see her again at somepoint because She is Such A Great Character! But Magneto was The Star of These Episodes In My Opinion. To see a Version of Him where He's This Antihero who's Leading The X-Men is So Fascinating! He's such a Great Character! And I Loved the use of "To Me, My X-Men" from both Scott and Magneto. And The Animation was Phenomenal and The Intro with The Iconic Theme Song! These Two Episodes were just Amazing!!! 10/10!!! I'm very Excited to see what Happens Next!!!

We have the X-men, we have the acolytes , we have the brotherhood , we have the morlocks, and then the government teams of mutants . I am not going to mention all the other non mutant focused teams or the mutates or magic users .
I think when Jean had that vision I think she saw Amahl Farouk aka Shadow King. Now with Prof.X out of the picture and Jean distracted with Nathan, its possible that the Shadow King emerged from the Astral plane once more. Storm having lost her powers may go visit her son and then be tempted by the shadow king who may be able to restore her abilities in exchange for something.
I like that theory! Definitely Shadow King has history with Storm when Mijnari was possessed. Could be how Charles comes back in, on the Astral Plane to defend her, too.

A Reminder though, when the X-Men Animated Series was playing in the 90s.. They weren't really separated from the rest of the Marvel Universe. There had been cameos of other Marvel characters in the cartoon (Captain America, Spider Man, Ms Marvel, The Avengers was in that alternate world sequence vs the X-Men and Magneto.) Which is why in X-Men 97 they still have properties like a Starks Industry sign, or the Daily Bugel paper that flies by the Camera.
Charles is already back. He's in Magneto's mind. And I bet we get Onslaught in season 2.

In the comics, Omega level doesn’t mean you’re the best in your ability, it means that you haven’t reach the limits of your ability.
The fact that Professor X needs Cerebro shows that he has a limit hence not Omega but an alpha.

I’d say Magz planned the whole trial thing, but not the executioner being there. He was PISSED about storm! He shed a tear. Earlier he said she’s the closest thing to a Goddess earth will ever witness and he MEANT that. Storm losing her powers was literally the biggest blow to Magneto’s ego because she was a representation of Godhood made flesh in his eyes. The embodiment of what mutant kind could be.
I hate that they nerfed Storm in episode 2. Hope it doesn’t last long. It was awesome though!
I like it, I think it could lead to an interesting arc for her. Besides, she probably won’t stay powerless. We’ll get to see plenty of her either later on the season or in the next one.

I agree. Cooper is Mystique. She wasn't scared when Magneto was doing his thing because she wasn't in any real danger because she could transform into a flyer, and when humans are in major danger it's because of what she orchestrated. She was even visibly sad about Storm getting depleted of her power.
Him saying that's Mystique posing as Val Cooper turned such a huge lightbulb on in my brain because Mystique actually does do that in the comics.
In Age of Apocalypse, Rogue and Magneto were a couple and had a kid. Cooper was Mystique in the comics.

I've always loved Scott Summers/ Cyclops.
I've always been so surprised by everyone's disfavor of him - from the studio execs and the writers, all the way to fellow fans of superhero stories of mythologies.
Glad to see appropriate improvements being made towards Scott, and I am also extremely excited to see how the rest of X-Men '97 is going to turn out!

Storm opens her own coffeshop location, starts franchising, names it Stormbucks with a logo of her face wth 2 lightning symbols on each side. She eventually realizes the elements have never truly left her mind and heart. She's goes to the roof of headquarters, connects with her ancestors, gets struck by lightning and regains her powers.
First off this show is pure gold…secondly WOW I didn’t realize but you’re absolutely right, THATS DEFINITELY MYSTIQUE!!!!
Wait!!! What the hell y’all watching…I didn’t see that part with Storm. I hear everyone saying "both" episodes but I only seen one and I was up at 3am ..please tell me where to watch it…I’m here for Storm.
Omega Level Mutant mean that a mutant whose power is infinite and dominate and unsurpassable even if that OLM passes away. When Magneto passed Polaris nor Joseph was able to take the title. Jean is an OLM "telepath" and Exodus is an OLM "telekinetic" now in the comic Jean and Storm powers cannot be suppressed because of how their powers work and they are able to suppress the power of others as well as Vulcan who’s OLM also. They dominate in their power set but while Jean has nigh-unlimited power and range Professor X still has the most skillful at using telepathy and range is still galactic level with Storm backing this fact during a secret galactic meeting stating that Charles intercepted his Shi’ar daughter’s psychic cry from galaxies away and was already resurrecting her.
Storm and Wolverine relationship already happened in the previous one and don’t need to happen again hopefully she goes to Wakanda and hookup with Black Panther before returning.

Omega Level means the apex…the most powerful type of mutant there is in the universe. There is nothing above them. And there are ONLY 15 Omega Level Mutants in the Marvel Universe. Again…only 15. And Storm is one of them, as she is a goddess and the most powerful commander of nature, ever.
Jean and Iceman are the other 2 X-Men who are Omega Level and regularly fight with the team.
Most telepaths are NOT Omega Level. Professor X is the worlds top telepath and he is not Omega Level. Not even close.
@@PookaList There can be multiple Omega-level mutants for one power type. An example would be Jean Grey and Quentin Quire, who both qualify as Omega-level telepaths.
The writing is incredible. Way better than the 90’s version.
The omega mutant statement was incorrect as per the recent Jonathan Hickman breakdown, Stryfe and Exodus are both Omega level telekinesis, Jean is omega level telekinesis and telepathy, kid omega is omega level telepathy

To me, I think this is leading to the Mutant Massacre since the Morlocks have been introduced. Storm losing her powers is in line with the Fall of the Mutants storyline. Magneto coming to the school is also in line. Gambit now has reason to betray the team leading the assassins to the Morlocks aka all the gravestones. And hopefully we get a new team including Colossus, Havok, Dazzler, and Psylocke
