i have one on my truck it works hands down im about to put one on my wifes truck too. i would run it, PCV to catch can, then from catch can to the top of the manifold. and just put a little filter on the passenger side valve cover

I have one of these on my boosted Honda. It's small so it fits in tight spaces and quality seems good plus it's inexpensive. Fills up quick in the cold months and where it's mounted I can sometimes smell it. Ok for lower boost though or if you're tight on cash or space.
If you have a vent can just go as big as possible. The only point is to catch the liquid the piston ring blowby and crankcase windage that the combustion process creates besides relieving pressure in the case of course.
I keep getting oil spraying out the breather with these. The 'in 'is from the rocker cover breather and' out' goes back to sump. Should I change them over or block one off?, I notice there isnt a filter inside it just a baffler.
The question here is, how do pcv pressure gets sucked into catch can? I mean supercharger intake sucks the pcv blowbys through vacuum...but when you run the pcv outlet directly into a catchcan, how do blowbys get sucked into catchcan? Don't they go back into pcv or accumulate in pcv hose before fully reaching the catchcan? I haven't seen anyone discuss this important point anywhere on youtube! Cheers.
In a naturally aspirated engine you run the catch can in an inline setup. Where the engine draws vacuum on the pcv and the catch can filters out oil vapors before the engine recycles crankcase pressure back into the intake. In a boosted application it’s better to just vent your crank case pressure to the can and let it collect oil vapors that never get recycled, boosted engines naturally have more blow by from more cylinders pressures and looser ring gaps, so the catch can needs to be ventilated, that’s when you see a filter attached to the can.
@@BoBuilds Thanks for your swift response...my car is boosted BMW E92 M3 supercharged (Vortech V3-Si), and I understand your second part of explanation about boosted application (like mine), but I assume you would also need to block off the supercharger intake elbow port (inlet) where PCV pressure used to get sucked through there and pushed into manifold, and eventually burns in engine...I would ideally like to keep the supercharger intake, manifold, intercoolers oil-free where mine all were oil-coated, and I heard this would dilute the air/fuel mixture and reduce octane, and hence causing detonation, retarding timing and eventually less power, correct?
@@BoBuildsyou don’t even realize how much you just helped me out. 5.9 24 valve here… seen a couple other people install this as a naturally aspirated setup and they came back and said it didn’t work and they had oil everywhere basically defeating the purpose they bought it for. All while after seeing that video I was regretting purchasing all parts and hardware … unfortunately I have to fab my own bracket and make my own light weight steel wool filter 😂. I can’t thank you enough for making this video. I do have a question though.. 5.9 24v….. is it absolutely necessary to mount can below my crankcase original filter ( gravity ) related ? Thank you in advance sir

Should I get one with the filter on top like this for a 2014 f150 3.5 ecoboost? Or should I just get the normal ones without the filter on top?

I ordered this same one, but mine didn't come with a bracket.
The steel wool is supposed to go in the small black cup on the top lid. It should unscrew.
It can also go in the bottom. I wouldn’t do it personally but shows on the sellers page to do it

Most throw stainless steel scrubber pads in them to catch oil.
Don't block them off.

I run my NA motor vented. I replaced my Pcv valve with a open 1/2 in barb fitting as well.

Don't run these in freezing temperatures lines will plug.
