Ummm. This guy almost types faster than I can read. I think this really is an amazing illustration of what our brains are actually capable of. Just think of every tiny little thing that has to happen for you to type one letter from visual input. The lenses in your eye have to focus the image, which then is sent through neural pathways to your brain to be processed as "a letter" in the English alphabet which your brain has a historical database of. It then processes that this letter needs to be typed so it sends a message back through the neural pathways in your brain to say you need to use a finger to do that, then which finger. Then it sends the signal to the nerves and muscles to engage that finger to move in a precise pattern to strike a key and enter the letter. This is not even taking into consideration the countless other processes happening simultaneously in your body, with and without regard to this action, that are regulated by the brain. And this is just one key stroke out of, say, 15 per second that this guy is performing. Absolutely astonishing. The fact that this all came about through the process of evolution that was guided by external environmental pressures just blows my mind to think about. We truly are remarkable.
yeah this is just a list of 200 words, your brain already knows these words and it processes the whole word along with the next 2-3 lol not individual characters, maybe if you're around 60wpm you do that

Me too! It was not until last year that I realized I had a talent for typing. I used to type 105 wpm on 60 seconds but now I type 175 wpm. I have like an increase of 3 words every other week so far. Keep up the good work

Just hit my new pr on short quotes of 141.71wpm!!!! Never though I would make it past 90wpm. Soon as I focused on accuracy my wpm shot up between 20-60 more words per minute by not wasting time due to mistakes. Will I ever make it over 200? We shall see! Cheers boys! 🍻

at 240WPM it still takes you 40 minutes to type 10,000 words, i hope you'll have improve when you hit that 100,000 mark else it'll take you some time to finish the whole thing x)

Numbers are not hard, but generally punctuations, capital letters and more words would slow him much. Here he types 200 most common English words

Question, so I have been typing with four of my fingers (2 left 2 right type beat) should I switch to how you type with all 10 of your fingers. To give some insight I avg 90 wpm 15s in monkey type with 95% act and 82 wpm in 30s. I haven't touched 60, or 120s I always thought about switching since it could drastically change my typing speed. I pretty much type like tyler one but I use almost all my fingers without having them layed out on ASDF and HJKL
i would suggest it (even tho you probably won’t see this lol) i averaged around 110-120 on my school chromebook with all 10 fingers

Ended up here from the MonkeyType leaderboards (as I _slowly_ type this at 110wpm lol). Steel Series? Have you ever thought of a custom mechanical keyboard? I've been in the custom mechanical keyboard community for a long time and I like to use the trades as a comparison... An artisan woodworker is going to have a Festool saw, not a Ryobi. As a professional/competitive typist you, or anyone on their keyboard all day, should have the best!! A nice keyboard sounds and feels soooo good, not the CRUNCH you're experiencing here lol. Alternatively, I completely understand sticking by what you know... That and the keyboard scene is full of whackos willing to pay thousands for a single keyboard. BUT if you're interested I'm one hell of a builder!! Hit me up!

I do from 60-90 wpm
Mostly 70s
250 is nearly just genetics at that point. Lets assume you use the 1 minute test and get a 72 on average. I started around the same and took just under a year to get to 150wpm. To get 250 could take 5 years or maybe 15 years
