- In this video, I installed Alpha Rex TCMBST Tacoma TRD Pro Style LED Headlights. (linked below) These headlights are awesome! They do a special light dance when you lock, unlock and start your truck. They also have an amber sequential blinker and larger daytime running lights. I chose the black on black option with the TacomaBeast Logo on the headlights. I think this was a really cool option to get the TCMBST logo on the headlights. I also went with the REFLECTOR style instead of the PROJECTOR because it was much cheaper and I like the look of the reflectors just as much as the projectors. These headlights are a great upgrade from the stock headlights that came on the truck.

Dude thank you for this! I’m installing another alpharex model on my TRD off-road, I looked for different vids to verify I didn’t need to put the add a fuse in my fusebox. You’re the man!!! 🙏🏽
Wait what did you do with the TRD adapter on the passenger side? Is that spliced to the gray wire along with the driver TRD connection?

I bought a pair of alpha rex trd pros for my 22 Taco trd sport. Followed your video. Discuss wire route planning and calm everyone down that the passenger side light install leaves two in used connectors that had me scratching my head. Why even bother with the passinger side pigtail connector as it goes unused.
That said both lights perform as advertised. Good work. Thank you.

I must admit that this video is the best install video. Everyone else's videos are not as descriptive as yours. I was going to go with Morimoto Headlights, but after watching this, I am going to go with your Tacomabeast Headlights.

Sooo you spliced the grey wire to connect it to the passenger side trd adapter

TCM Beast doesnt have an option for reflector or projector style anymore on the website. Does anyone know which style they sell?
are you able to keep the drl as amber always instead of white?
Yes it’s two mode for drl , amber and white, you can switch between them

I went with the AVS aroskin. It is really low profile and looks clean. I have thought about it.
This is a long shot, but I ran into an issue today where the DRLs are NOT working. Everything else works fine, but I don’t get the light show or DRLs when I lock/unlock w my key fob.. the light show works if I flip the switch inside the truck. I noticed that it looks like a wire has disconnected on the passenger side, but cannot for the life of me figure out where it disconnected from. It’s been about 3 years since I installed these so going off of memory is a big NOPE. The disconnected wire is on the TRD harness on the passenger side. Any helpful info from anyone is greatly appreciated! I’ll note that my switch inside is always set on Auto.
Same here the trd passenger side got disconnected, but I reconnected the wire . But they only give you one yellow for driver side not passenger side
I too have stock halogen headlights on my truck and planning on buying the same lights, but is the wiring harness something extra you have to buy or are they provided with the lights. Thanks and great video of the installation

Should the DRL LEDs stay on all the time (whenever the truck is running) regardless of what the headlight selector is set to…… or do I have something wired wrong?
Mine is the same way and was wondering the same thing. For reference mine isn’t a trd model
The did finally reply to me via email that they do stay on always. Had I known this, I would not have purchased.

I have the TRD SPORT 4x4 2022, I was wondering if it fits on that trim and year. Also, I just want to get a clarification on splicing, Do we have to use it and what is the reason or can we put it in the fuse box instead. Let me know, planning to get it soon for black Friday! Thank you!
Yes these headlights will work on your trim!
is there a way around splicing?
@@robertobutacjr.8064 on the nova version you can avoid splicing if you don't care about the drl 'dance' when locking unlocking. You would just use the short grey converters and take out the additional harness that connects to the battery.
Why is all the splicing necessary? Why don’t they just make them 100% plug n play?
The splicing is for the light dance feature

Yes you can adjust the headlights to aim for downwards. I’m pretty sure I should lower mine too..
Did you have any issues with the battery and warning lights coming on after hooking it up? I connected my harness to the ground like you did and got brake and oil warnings and it all resolved when I completely disconnected

@@jessestone294 I installed in my sr5 and had to use the add a fuse, turns out the fuse you pull from the slot the add a fuse goes into also needs to go into the open slot on the add a fuse. Worked like a charm after that trouble shooting

No you shouldn’t need the TRD adapter to make them work

When you say trd model do you mean trd pro? Trd off-road? Trd sport???
I’m pretty sure all TRD models. Or trucks with the led drl headlights.

Absolutely! These lights are definitely a great UPGRADE from the stock headlights

Yes they will I just got them for my trail edition. Make sure you get the version meant for halogen lights not for trd model with led

hey quick question... on alpharex website they list the colorways of this head light as "alpha black" and "black"... do you know which one you have? also, tacomabeast has the colorways listed a bit differently as well... they have "black on black" and "black"....
Great question! I found this a bit confusing as well when I purchased the lights. I bought the lights from the Tacoma beast website and I got the black on black!
The ones you got are the alpha black..they consist of the gloss black housing with the smoked out lights..the black has a matte black housing with clear drls (non smoked)

Great video. But for the passenger side. My amber marker light doesn’t turn on but driver side does. Any idea why?
And my DRL on passenger side works as I unlock and lock the car. But when I want to run my DRL driving, only the driver side is on. Unsure what the problems.
