Mexican here. It's all about the attitude, don't be scared of the comal nor the tortilla, throw it FAST, flip it fast, no fear. Train the resistance to heat of the tip of your fingers, that'll give you the confidence, mexican hugs and abuelitas' approval.

Can patch paper be used for the tortilla press instead of the plastic paper to make tortillas?
Yes, you can use parchment!
Is your masa harina the same as maseca?
Thank you for your question! Maseca is a brand, like Masienda, of nixtamalized corn flour (masa harina) but Masienda masa harina is made with heirloom corn sourced from smallholder farmers in Mexico; we think you’ll taste and smell the difference!
