kief is awesome but if you have access to buy it then don't take it out of your flower just to add it back in.
If you have other access to kief, take the screen off your grinder and buy kief to add to your bud or to make hash from otherwise you have to make your flower weaker to have the kief for later and it can take time to collect it.
I also find that a larger grinder with more metal mass will keep cold longer and you'll have less condensation.
Gloves to keep your body heat from the grinder helps as well.
Just putting your buds in a bottle in the freezer and shaking them around will do some little kief collecting.
Finally emptied all my grinders got about 4 bowls of Kief. Was bout to be out of weed too. Was a life saver 😂.
Come on man now you’re high and running out of weed, that’s possibly the best recipe for paranoia, well for me anyway lol

That's exactly why I don't mess with my kief. When I get low and can't get anything it's a life saver
If your screen gets clogged up, take a clean unused toothbrush while the tray is still on and you collect the keef from the screen. Don't go crazy and push too hard just lightly brush the screen and collect the goods.
Don't like freezing the grinder. Condensation can build on it/in it.

Actually, don't drag your bud across your grinder screen if you want high quality kief. Dragging will produce more, but it will be greener in tint due to having plant material in it rather than golden in hue due to being more pure in trichomes. Instead of dragging your flower, lightly shake (left to right, not up and down) your grinder side to side, letting the flower lightly roll around on the screen. You will still produce more kief this way, and it will be much higher quality than dragging the bud across the screen
this is what I thought too [since when making hash you want the golden hue I've heard]
I got one of those massage guns. Blast it for 15 seconds every time I grind up a doob.

Which kind of grinder do you use?
The coin and freezer methods do work. I used to use them all the time. If you have a grinder that you use often then using both methods at the same time, like putting a coin in, then leaving it in the freezer and shaking it after will produce immediate results. You’ll see a lot of keef built up super quick.
Another technique ive used to get in really small/compacted creases in my grinder is to dab a little iso on a fine paintbrush and that'll get in really tuff to reach places. (Obviously being wary of brush combs)
I can never save my keif lol! I always add it back into my final bong toke of the sesh for that incredible flavour hit 😍
imo keef hurts and tastes the same, but it gets you way higher than flowers do. cewpins compares it to dry sift hash because thats basically what it is especially if you press it together into a keef chunk

I know this is a little over the top but I brush my Space Case grinder from top to bottom with a little brush I got with my S n B volcano after roughly every 2 to 4 grams that goes through it... only ever needed to give it a proper cleaning 2 times since 2018.
brushing the screen lightly really helps to keep it clear from clogging.
The storz and bickel brush is the only thing that gets more work then my actual volcano haha. That things amazing for cleaning grinders or loose leaf vapes. Perfect size and the horsehair is super fine yet easy to spot if one comes loose while dusting around.
It's not over the top, you're keeping it nice and useable

If you want to get more Kif, bruise the stalks on your flowers as they're growing in the last stage.
About 40 years ago an old Hawaiian showed me where he had pinched a bug that was eating a flower the day prior, and the next day the plant frosted up with twice as much trichomes as the rest of the plant.
He started bruising the stems of the flowers, and he became famous for the best flower on his Island
Just curious but how would bruising the stalk make the plant produce more trichomes?

A friend of mine in Hawaii went out in the morning and found a bug eating on his tree.
He squished the bud and damaged some of the flower.
It was during the flowering period and the last flowers were just emerging, basically the flower stage growing trichomes.
The next morning he came out and the trichomes were doubled on the area of the plant that was damaged.
After that he started stressing the stalks bruising them, and became the most famous grower in Hawaii

If you bruise or stress a plant in the green foliage stage, it will only grow more green foliage, than the whole plant will stretch out.
If you bruise or stress the plant in its flowering stage, it will only grow trichomes and flowers.

Also to get more trichomes or more kief you can use an air conditioner in your grow room and carbon dioxide in the grow room.
My friends in high elevation California brushed snow off their trees before they Harvest them

Put your grinder in the freezer & let it sit until the any condensation drys, put some bud in there & put it back in the freezer. Tap a little, grind a little, return to freeze, tap a little, grind a little and you'll shake more kief into your kief screen as you grind.
I'm surprised you didn't mention shaker boxes! Also some grinders out there come with removable screens + replacements

Its good to have your own personal kief on hand just to mix it up once in awhile. Plus i like to make my own moon rocks. Only smoke top shelf exotics
love kief! probably best not to leave it in your grinder-especially if you live in a humid environment. After you tap everything out, pour the contents into a smoothee for better preservation!

If you have a titanium nail you can also take straight kief dabs. I used to do this when I ran out of dabs or bud. You have to hit it like red hot cause it’s actually burning it but you can get a crazy hit off only a little bit.
Best way to get kief i found was to use a coffee grinder with a spherical lid, all the kief builds up on the lid to where you can use a spoon to get it out
Freezing works but I found that if you aren't careful you end up sifting green material threw the screen. Only a few shakes is enough to drop a bunch of kief in the bottom of the grinder. The entire bud will become brittle when you freeze it so remember that.
my keef is for emergency use only. i also leave some ground up bud in there so its easier to roll + put it under keef so i dont waste it by sucking it through my piece

I have pressed old school hash from grinder kief, several times. It is very easy. I use the freezer technique. I do a light grind on some super good plant material, and pop the grinder in the freezer for up to 20 minutes, and shake and knock it around, I DO NOT put a coin or anything else in the grinder because I just want TRICHOMES, not foreign and extra plant material. I check the bud to guage how much kief is left on the material, and if I feel that it could use another run in the freezer, I run it again. But that it 2 runs is the max. If I have good bud, I will get a good clean return, and pretty much all of it. Much simpler than using dry ice, or an Ice water bath.

Kief bowls are my favorite, I put a little nug at the bottom of the bowl like a screen. Nug plug
One time when I wanted to try out my pollen press I would sit in a cold area and grind up a small nug and drag a needle lightly across the screen through the ground bud and it actually filled it half way by the time I was done too

I definitely notice a significant difference in kief especially if I grind up some bud and leave that in there while it’s on the freezer then shake it like a Polaroid

I always just take something like a screwdriver or a table corner and I bang my grinder on that while spinning it around and I also shake my grinder semi often, I get tons of keif, I also use a keif brush for my grinder

I cleaned my grinder with everclear kept liquid and let the alcohol evaporate so the dissolved goodness would precipitate out and I could pour off the water scrape it up and mix it with more keif and it’s not bad stuff.

I have an electric coffee grinder I use it’s the best thing it collects kief in the lid amd it has blade that chopped the bud in seconds
Btw that method of using a coin eventually collect coin dust from the coin due to friction. Be careful
And yes you can clean it, most of the time when it gets extremely clogged with isopropyl 91 soak is prob the best, make sure you have something for the lil creases

Cut open those Kind Tree type plastic seal bags. Kief is holding out at the folds! Crazy lipped jars too!! Get a small brush!

I use a Sharpstone with a kief collector and what I like to do is accumulate enough kief to make my own caviar (aka moon rocks)
i bought a mod for my arizer that came with a small brush it’s the best tool i have sweep in all that kief top to bottom on my grinder lol
Nickel is a good idea, also try freezing the grinder with the weed in it

I gots a cookies electric grinder it’s great, I got a scraper from another grinder so easy to scrape and I’ve noticed every bowl you pack is basically 15 percent kief

Well I used to use cheap grinders years ago and they would produce a lot of kief but the last grinder I bought was a space case grinder and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t produce as much as I’d like I’ve had it for years now and it’s minimal at best I’ve cleaned it a couple times I guess it Doesn’t really help that much do you recommend any grinders I should look into?

If you’re gonna use alcohol to clean your grinder use ethyl alcohol it won’t tarnish the metal it’ll keep it nice and shiny

Kannastor 4 peice grinder has different micron screens that you can purchase and unscrew and screw the different one in
Instead of coin grinder I use bubble bags and a shit load of nickels and I sift it on a paper mat for about a couple minutes each round. I barely lose any bud too and I make the sift into hashish
I just use a screwdriver and create friction on the mesh to release the build up
when its cold outside i get like 10 times as much kief
Idk if this is dumb but I’ve put my grinder with my weed in it for an hour or 2 and take it out and grind it up and I get a shit ton of kief through my 4 chamber
I scratch the mesh with a sewing needle to unjam the holes, it's very effective
And super satifying when I get to see through it

Get a 70-80 micron screen. Grind your buds and dump them onto the screen. Use your ID and softly scrape the buds

I remember I ordered a 5 layer grinder one time, my friend was so mesmerized by the concept, he was high as shit and couldn't think up a reason why there'd be a 5th layer. I essentially told him the only logical explanation, coarse and fine kief instead of just one particle size... Sadly, I fucked up the order and Amazon cancelled it lol

Yo question about bongs! I know lots of people pack biiiiig bowls in their bong and just do a bunch of small hits and empty it out when it’s all ash but lots of people I know tend to pack it medium and take one big hit and pull the hot ash all the way through the stem into the beaker, all I’ve noticed is that you gotta clean the bong more often doing that but are there any benefits/downsides to either approach?
Snapper 1 hits are the way to go. If you’re worried about ash get a ash catcher
I'm new here so you may have already touched on this before. I smoke almost exclusively with my water bong. I feel this is the best high and most tasty for me. However, I have always wondered if using a screen is safe (or are harmful even through filtration, when/if the heat breaks the metals in screen down?
You can buy glass screens but they do breakdown form the heat after awhile

There’s no thc in stems its been proven recently though studies. Youd have to have like 20 pounds of stems to get enough thc out of them to get high. Just throw them away fam, sorry :(
