The song sequence from this commercial is chiseled into my memory. To this day it'll crop up out of nowhere and I'll find myself singing, "Come with me, my love....Hey, Hey Paula....Many a tear has to fall..." Didn't realize this was from 1988. I was just a punk kid.

I ordered this CD set in the mid 1990s from Razor and Tie Catalog in the mid 1990s and ordered some albums from them. I loved the catalog then and still have them today.
I remember seeing this commercial and my mother ordered it for me for my birthday and I insisted on the 4 records because I wanted to feel like I was from that era, I bought the CD collection as an adult off of eBay
Are you sure this was 1988? I think ran this commercial for several years. Back then I think they use to have these offers once a year before the internet made music widely available. I just old prom dresses with elbow gloves, the guy tuxes are fine too.
He had a soothing voice that'll make you feel comfortable Buying products, not like the other voice overs, they're kinda threatening and a little bit scary.

His most prominent roles include the narrator for the OG Transformers cartoon, Tirek from the first generation of My Little Pony, and various toy commercials for Hasbro and Milton Bradley.
