Man Ties Balloons To Lawn Chair, You Won't Believe What Happens Next

- Опубликовано: 20 фев 2020
- It was one man's dream to soar amongst the birds and the clouds, except he forgot to tell air traffic control that he would be flying across the sky in a lawn chair tied to giant balloons at 16,000 feet! In this insane true stunt, a man crafts a homemade flying device and breaks some laws and records while soaring across the skies.

People be taken my comment idea.
In Brazil we had a similar history. A Catholic priest flew with balloons too, but he disappeared, probably died. He won the Darwin awards in that same year.
WHAT 😰😥
Flew right into the heavens
Oh no
@M P eeee o boi he might be in heaven but you are going to *h e c k* for that joke...
Wot_Studios why? It wasn’t a very bad or dark joke
And then in 2009 Carl Fredrickson goes to the next level by flying with his house tied to balloons
xxXyeeshot69Xxx Up!
Lol
That gives me too much nostalgia I think I'm overdosing
😂😂😂
And then David Blaine comes and flies up like 25000 feet with only balloons and literally nothing else but a parachute

Imagine ATC. They get a report of a guy in a lawn chair at 10,000 feet with a gun.

ATC? You mean ATF?

My Old man would have carried his shotgun. The pilots would have understood he was guarding his porch. hahahaha

So he buys a parachute but doesn’t use it. What a waste of money.
True, he was at 16,000 ft. He only needs to be at 4000 - 4500 ft agl for beginners to deploy a parachute.
I mean the guy would still have the parachute... it’s not really wasted if you can still use it

Why does everyone hate florda ;-;
Well, actually I can fly too. The problem is that its only for about 4 ft. And maybe only 10 inches high. But The cape I wear is cool.
True this; Larry was my hero as I had read about his flight in college. He inspired me to become a pilot and today I fly a business jet for a wealthy family. Thank you Larry.
FAA: Do you have any idea how much trouble you caused!!!
Also FAA: You could have taken that bad boy to 50,000 ft
Yeah, doubt he'd survive being 15,000 meters in the sky without some protection like a partial pressure suit and oxygen mask
Sadly Larry took his own life a few years later. It's a crazy story. I'm happy he got to live out his dream
why did he take his life
According to wikipedia. Ol lady left him, couldnt find a stable job
I read somewhere else (BBC Radio 4, The Unbelievable Truth, one of the truths - can't remember which season or episode) that he killed himself because the media mercilessly made fun of him for his trip. I might be wrong, though!
Of course he did. Nobody of sound mind would do such a thing. He was nutty upstairs.
And they left that part out?
“Lawn chair test run is a success! Prepare the house!”

Tash how? Up is a completely different story than this. An old man and a kid in a flying house is something quite different from a random dude flying in a lawn chair.
He's got a point
@Jordan Robshaw i mean. Up will cost much much more like about a few millions

His cautiousness helped him survive
Everybody Gangsta until Ned Flanders is flying 3 miles off the ground
After this happened, Lawncair Larry was imitated by a guy called Kent Couch.
It would have been awsome if he tied his balloons to a couch but he too used a Lawn chair.
Extract from wikipedia:-
"On July 7, 2007, Kent Couch, a 47-year-old American gas station owner from Bend, Oregon, reportedly flew 240 miles (390 km) in his lawn chair, landing in a field about 3 1⁄2 miles (6 km) NNW of North Powder, Oregon, about 30 miles (50 km) from the Idaho border.[4] Traveling an average of 22 mph, Couch used plastic bags filled with 75 litres (20 US gal) of water as ballast against the 105 large helium balloons tied to his lawn chair. Like Walters, Couch had a BB gun on hand to shoot the balloons in order to initiate descent. After the flight, he developed a way to release helium from the balloons, allowing for a more controlled descent.[4][13] During a second flight on July 5, 2008, Couch realized his goal of interstate travel when he landed safely in western Idaho. The trip totaled 240 miles (390 km) and took 9 hours and 12 minutes"
