This is the content armwrestling fans need!!!! please do more
Totally spot on 💪🏿
Love this always wondered how itd go
I was just about to say this. We need more of these little candid interactions between minds that discuss these kinds of specifics. A discussion that isn't dumbed down for an audience, but instead is just stated as is. At some point in our journeys, we are going to need to hear this specific advice about static center-table strength and protecting your pronator against those who attack it from the starting position.
Beautiful stuff. More, please.
Your comment nailed it..
This is what we need
Armwrestlers**** as well
Its good to see the comunity is united, and the best europeans are opened to give advises to best north americans and vice versa..
I was thinking the same thing. There’s a chance the stupid meet up in WAL one day. So it was very nice to see this
Awesome. I noticed the glass table breathe a sigh of relief when that was over!
lol
Great comment 😂🤣👏👏👏
🤣🤣🤣
This is actually extremely good advice. Competing against Zoloev and Kazakhs turned Janis into a master toproller.
Which Zoloev?🤔
@@bmad1386 Khadzimurat
That shows how Janis level is way above us pullers
Working as a chiropractor etc gives him extremely knowledge of the body
@@PumaTomten i thought janis was a physiotherapist?
Haha they don’t call him “The Jedi” for no reason!!
@@4Morfius yup
@@4Morfius That's the correct term yes!
Can't even imagine what kinda beast RVJ can turn into after training with a master like Janis or Engin for a solid 6 months. He really has incredible potential.
@RUclipsInsistInBanningPeople was that an irony or are you that naive?
People have been saying "Rob has potential" for like 10 years lol
@@johnkatsigiannis299 Having potential and realizing that potential are two different things.
@RUclipsInsistInBanningPeople but he probably is still stronger than any one in the comment section 😂
@@MrDarkpaf Not probably. He is 💯 Hope he uses this for fuel and comes back better than ever!
Most guys that go over to Europe get beat with the hand and wrist. That's why John was so good no matter where he went dominate hand and wrist and really only armwrestling that European style makes you stronger there.
Athlete must learn to close their hand in order to shutdown opponent and dominate them
@@cobrarhodes5220 too many people think of armwrestling as a pure strength sport and that is totally wrong

Got concerned about that glass table a couple of times...Awesome video. Very insightful.
😂 Yeah Rob definitely made the right call at the end there LOL
Use this knowledge RVJ. And come back and beat Sasho :) Great match. Both of you!
Rob should do a 6 month boot camp with Janis' crew and they will fill the holes in his game. Would be amazing youtube content too. Kind of like Devon living at tri-star.
It would be awesome. I was born and raised in the same area as Rob. Problem with Rob is he runs a construction crew. These days the sport is not his life like it used to be. The pandemic made him focus more on his job. Hopefully this loss sparks something in him. Watching that match with Sasho it was painful because Rob is much better than that. He was only training for few weeks or a couple weeks before travel. Can’t do stuff like that against those Europeans
Being away from your wife and kids for that long is pretty tough for most people.
@RUclipsInsistInBanningPeople He has the strength, but seems to be lacking more on the technical side of things. I'm sure if he had that insight before the match, he would've looked better. Not saying he would win or get any pins, but he would've been able to apply more pressure in the areas Janis was showing him in this video.
Engin would help Rob the most (:
@@studyingpain1590 I'd bet you're only a plane ticket and a few exchanged messages away from pulling them
Man...Janis really is The Last Jedi
All of a sudden Devon and Dave's micro movement trainings arn't so crazy huh... 🤦♂️
You can teach an old dog new tricks
Until he apply successfully all of that in a real match, we don't now yet.
A humbled RVJ.
Janis is up there with Engin and Devon as far as being a genius at arm wrestling goes.
great masterclass by the Jedi!
I know rvj has been around for a while even longer then all of them there and even now he is learning new things and actually embracing it aswell. He is definitely gonna get stronger with this loss
@BPJ I'm sure rvj has one of the strongest hands and pronation. He just has to change some techniques to pull against these European pullers. After all it was his first time pulling a European puller
in what galaxy is rvj around longer than janis? you must be very young to think that

Rob soaking up that Latvian coaching. 💪💪🗣️🗣️
Im 6 times Georgian national champion and i think i have a knowledge in this sport to say it.
RJV is good, well rounded armwrestler hes not bad in toproll, also not bad in hook. but at this level
If u want to be great its not enough to be not bad at some moves, You must be PERFECT at least in 1 move(toproll hook or something else)
thats what Sasho Andreev is doing, hes so great with his 1 movement that no one in his weight can make him play with other technics rules.
same about Irakli Ziraqashvili and Terzi, they are very good in theyr toproll so almost no one can hook them. all im trying to say is: its easy to force average well rounded pullers like RVJ to play
with your technique rules.
sorry for bad english but i hope some of you will understand what i wanted to say.
I’m a big fan of robs so this video made me really happy because we have not heard from Rob since the match and I was worried that this loss was going to have a negative affect. I was thinking he was just laying in his bed waiting for the plane. Watching this video though shows me that loss might spark something inside Rob.
rvj trained 6 weeks for this after almost 2 years sitting on the couch
RVJ would benefit greatly from a European training camp.
I like these kinds of vids honeslty, its refreshing to see people talk on the dinner table as oppose to nice looking gyms or studios lol
RVJ saying that the lowhand dragging toproll is "new" to him is so funny. He has the classic Dave Chaffee curse here -- guys so naturally strong that they never bother to learn fundamental technique. Hope that after this he decides to work more on his technical game.
Right? I'm sure he's acting a little bit naïve here, simply because he lost the match and he's among his peers, so it'd be ridiculous for him to act haughty and arrogant. That said, how do you not completely learn one of THE MOST fundamental movements in armwrestling after that long?
Strong guys are strong, but in armwrestling, you need to have the athleticism and kinesthetic intelligence to combine multiple complex movements into one fluid vector. It's like boxing, you can be as strong as an ox, but if you don't have that neurological connection to really fire all those muscles at once and snap your arm out in front of you with a lot of acceleration, that strength will likely never avail you anything.
@RUclipsInsistInBanningPeople in his defense this match came out of nowhere, it was on, but then cancelled so rob started drinking and quit training, and then last minute it was back on. All the while sasho never stopped training, that being said, sasho definitely looked strong
@@peterfenter8800 It's not Sasho's fault that his opponent does not keep himself in shape... another lame excuse imo... it was canceled for both of them but one chose to train and be at his best regardless and got rewarded so i see no problem here
@@peterfenter8800 No excuses. This was a reality check for RVJ.
I was born and raised in the same area as Rob is from so I am a fan of his. I’m glad he still went out there and competed because he was only training for a couple weeks so he Put himself in a really hard spot. I hope this loss lights a spark under him. From watching this video it looks like that spark has been lit because he’s taking pointers from one of the best in the world rather than just sleeping in his bed and waiting for the plane.
Quality information small adjustments to increase technique 💪🏽
janis and ray has just so much knowledge man
Wow. That's simply great. Thanks for enlighten us all.
Simple yet brilliant video 🦾
Wow, great quality content, amazing
RVJ needs a professional ArmWrestler to coach him about technqiues... e.g Engin, Janis, etc...
Engin said in his video today he would like a chance to train Rob as he can see he is naturally very gifted.
It just shows the difference between American and European. Rob is one of my favorites and I was hoping he would win but those guys over there in your train like every day it’s crazy
Janis the Jedi master
This is beautiful
This is awesome stuff, the behind the scenes technique talk ❤️
Learning from Jedi Master Janis you shall...
Great content, coach! Thx for sharing!👍
Love the sharing of knowledge. More of this please.
The Jedi doing some great teaching!!
That's the kind of video we need...where more knowledgeable Arm Wrestlers share their knowledge and help everyone progress... If RVJ learns more about technique and become professional...Even at 40 he can improve much more...He needs to be humble and learn and think more about the game...Hope he does it...
This draws parallels to what Dan Gable discovered during his wrestling travels. He realized that the Americans focused more on hard training, but the Russians focused more on technical proficiency in their training. Very interesting stuff.
Definitely interesting
Janis isnt Russian
Loool thats so wrong…. Its nothing like that man. Rvj is extremely technical. You dont make that level just training hard.
And if you knew the history, youd know europe were the dumb brutes at the time, and a guy named john brzenk (smaller guy) from america was killing the giants in europe and russia.
Janis just is from different era and is just brilliant.
The Americans don't train harder, nor do they have the technical proficiency. Americans like to arm wrestle in the backyard while drinking beers and having a good time. They treat it like a social event, while the Europeans are drilling technique and doing arm wrestling specific lifts down in some dungeon in Bulgaria or wherever lol.
@@alexanderthegood3076 gable is an american freestyle wrestler. He was talking about freestyle wrestling. Not armwrestling
wow great vid! so instructive!
RVJ's right bicep is huuuuuge
You should see the how it looks in person, its like a glute rather than biceps
Awesome content, cheers🍻
i love Janis :) great guy
lol, "we would definitely shatter this table". Perfect closing to this video, lol.
This is goood stuff
Very Very Informative video
Man , it was so cool meeting all you guys , thanks for taking the time to have pictures with us all
It's good to see RVJ working on fine-tuning areas of weakness. Because I promise you, his arm was plenty strong for Sasho, but Sasho punched through his fingers and turned the wrist like twisting off a piece of Play-Doh. I would love to see RVJ work on these points and come back and beat Sasho.
First awesome videos stay strong and love armwrestling
These kind of techniques are what we need more of being explained in detail like this. Good video
Being an armwrestler... this here... is pure gold !
And for R.V.J is diamond 🤣
I like how any time anyone mentions Travis, they all imitate his voice haha!
Great video Ray. Both you and Janis have done the world a big favor with all of those training and discussion videos over the years. Doesn't get much better than you guys for instructional content. Thank you both!
Never armwrestle on a glass table
This is what he needs, if he can get sasho's hand just to go a bit past flat it would probably look totally different that and more consistent training lol
@RUclipsInsistInBanningPeople I train with Rob, that was not a
Dedicated Rob that went against Sasho
@@sammitchell7196 I was born and raised in Boston. I never met Rob but from being a fan and watching that match you could tell that was not normal Rob. I hope that loss likes a spark underneath him though. He is still so freaking young in the sport
janis one of my favorite armwrestler and he teaches alot of how to trained😊❤
man I rally think RVJ have everything he needs to beat sasho he jsut need to use it at the right time and place.
100%
He don't have the hand and wrist and he don't have the guys around him to work on those areas the way the European guys do! Almost every European guy you see has dominant hand and wrist
So true.
@RUclipsInsistInBanningPeople has irakli and sasho ever pulled?
@@jedsteelwell2354 pretty sure his hand is stronger then sashos.. because why else would sasho bail for the strap the first 3 rounds.. second round sasho hang on his ass too get away from robs hand for 30 seconds..
he only beat rob outside the strap after robs pronator had been prison raped in the strap for several rounds..
You can never talk too much about the specific direction and angles that the different types of pulling creates. I love how you discussed training pronation from a higher angle on the wrist. Never would have thought of that.
Love this vid, nice pint of view for and beginner like me who is finding my style, and this way is close that I need to be my top roll
I went to my first armwrestling club yesterday and discovered armwrestling is WAY more technique then I thought! I was pulling with all my strength and someone would bend my hand/wrist back and all the power was gone and I'd lose lol fun sport
Ray I love finding these gold nuggets every now and again 😍 1:10 onwards has hidden gem.
Beautiful lesson
Great content
RVJ is a genetic phenom. If a master class techy would help him for a few years....seriously no one would touch him pound for pound....period.
I really hope RVJ gets inspired and not disheartened by his ArmWars experience. His gifts are easy to see, he just needs to put in the work and not rely on his natural ability. P.S. don't @ me with a roids explanation. It is what it is.
Rvj has been doing it for a long time. Janis is just so nice and able to share the technique and breakdown it in detail.
Awesome stuff - very revealing. You and Yanis are levels ahead on the technical side. Even more than training, RVJ really needs high level coaching and strategy. Strange that he doesn't reach out to Brzenk. U.S. breeds too many lone wolves. Europeans work together in teams and groups. Better practice, better table strategy.
The good stuff, the top dudes exchanging some info.
Genius thanks for this great info
Another amazing video
This is a great info and I enjoyed watching rob learn from you guys
Holy crap, I've never thought of it that way.
RVJ is not listening and letting him complete - He has given such a Golden advise. I am definitely gonna work on this....Million $ advice
Yes he is, stop creating fake drama
This is stronger but this one is more connected (exactly the same problem I have)
Hand and wrist! The 2 most important things in armwrestling!
Very informative
This is great content Rob, thank you! #thejedi
RVJ listening to Janis…that’s trouble..lol..👏👏
Masterclass!
Janis is one hell of a coach.
Valuable stuff
03:10 if he actually pays attention John Brzenk does is very successfully. That style always pulled my attention, not a full lowhand toproll but lowhand and full hand controlled toproll. John did it many times when he faced good hook pullers.
Rvj hasn’t realized yet that’s how Craig Tullier pulls
The Jedi master Janis is training another!!!
I love the arm wrestling community. Even guys who could end up pulling each other are still lifting each other up and everyone’s trying to get better. No ones trying to hold anyone back. This is what it would lose if arm wrestling got huge and blew up. It’s a choice though. Should arm wrestlers possibly lose what makes it great with a chance for people to actually make a living doing it? I think the people who think they want they would be the same people that would wish it never changed after it did. I think it’s in a great spot and I’d hate to see any big change.
Janis seems like a really cool guy. Rob too
Would like to see Denis Cyplenkov explaining his technique, people say he is just brute strength, but he has some more in depth technique behind his hit, he's not that dumb as people think, i believe he knows more then he shows.
True, Denis is super bright. Accomplished chess player. Also, there's a video floating around of Voevoda giving instruction and coaching to younger armwrestlers - he was a brute and a physical specimen, but the level of his knowledge is amazing. Watching Laletin interact with Sasho and Bozhidar and others on the technical aspects shows there's a greater sensitivity to all that in the eastern European culture. With the exception of guys like Brzenk and Larratt, N. America is miles behind.
Outside europe, many potential great athletes, but technical on low level.
Sweet content
Video on Janis’s HAND CONTROL PLEASE!
Awsome content!
That poor glass table dodged several bullets.
Good to see rvj excited about armwrestling
It's kind of funny that this is the first RVJ is seeing this, but still this is amazing content and it's great to see him learning. Hope he manages to level up even further. He has a lot of raw strength. All these afterpulling style things where people discuss and share strategies is so interesting.
I wanna see Janis go around and train already talented pullers like Rvj and stuff
Very good content
