  • Normally, Lee C Parts focuses on shredding wrecked cars for the parts. In this episode, we show two different honda s2000 that were both fixed and put back on the road. Both examples are owned and driven by employees of ours. So, we get to see them on a regular basis.
    We briefly dive into the numbers on each car to illustrate the value each car has in our current market. We also have a low, 48K mileage s2000 that is unfortunately wrecked. It will be coming apart for parts. It is a great example for us to illustrate the ridiculous parts value that some of these cars have.

    The prices of s2000 and s2000 parts have definitely went up so much over the last few years! I have been wanting one for the last 4 years and finally pulled the trigger to get one after noticing the crazy jump in prices

      We all collectively at the shop believe they will continue to trend higher in value. I think now will prove to be a good entry point several years from now. Even tho prices are up from years previous.

    I got super lucky and got a crazy deal for mine about a year ago. Got a wide body boosted 03 ap1 lowered on rpf1’s with 150 ish k miles, owner refreshed the engine, spent 15k in upgrades turboing the car, but wiries to sloppy and got cooked on the Down pipe, never ran after that. Got the car for 9000 cad, fixed the wiring myself and just threw some spark plugs and coil packs in and she cranked right up. Spent like 2k getting the car repainted and getting the body nice and straight. All in im 11-12k deep for a boosted widebody s2000 making 500hp

    just found your channel. I've bought a bunch of parts from you guys for a few of my S2000 projects lol. Including a hood that I had to pick up in person. You guys had an NSX parked outside at the time which you had just sold. I was always curious why so many of these cars get scrapped for parts, when some of them could easily be rebuilt and put back on the road. Back in the good old days I picked one up at auction for S2,600 with only 13k miles, I kid you not 13k miles. That engine alone probably worth $8k right now. My how times have changed. Now everyone and their grandma wants one.

      Not sold! That’s my moms NSX, my dad bought it for her 60th birthday present. It’s always been her dream car, and she enjoys it very much!

    Which was the exact opposite of me. Bought one for 14k back in 2015. 121k mileage, perfect original paint. Had a few misfires and the door wouldn’t open from outside. In the end I sold for 4k because owed someone money.

    I picked up a clean, matching rust free ‘02 Suzuka Blue/Blue, clean, 39,000 miles for $19k - now two years later at 44,000 miles.
    Being a Honda tech I’ve done everything you can imagine keeping it stock including ap2 oil jets and valve spring retainers.
    I’m not sure it’s value and not sure I want to know in case it forces me to sell haha

      (Clean seats, top, interior, engine bay, rust free underbody, everything up to date maintenance wise including new Honda clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, rear main seal, trans input seal, master and slave cylinders, all preventative because I didn’t know how the previous owner/s treated it but thankfully the disc was still 7.5mm hahaha)

    Can you help an old school countryboy out by telling me if the S2000 is a "fast" car by street standards? Imo, Honda makes amazing engines but I know nothing about these cars. I like the looks of the black S2000

    • @scraplifegarage
      @scraplifegarage  2 года назад

      S2000 can be fast. In stock form, they are far from fast in a straight line. Still very capable through the turns tho.

    The S2000 was my favorite car I've ever owned. I do still have the original S2000 OEM car cover in its bag, never used. How much can that go for?

    • @scraplifegarage
      @scraplifegarage  2 года назад

      They are definitely fun cars. I would have to look up the value of the car cover. We have never had someone leave one in the trunk of a wrecked car. Has to be a couple hundred bucks easily I would think?

    • @wanderingdoc5075
      @wanderingdoc5075 2 года назад

      @@scraplifegarage yeah I miss that car. I had a mint 2008 black with red interior, with only 26,000 miles on it. I owned it for 4 years in Hawaii and a teenager sideswiped me.
      So even in 2014 the insurance company paid me exactly what I had paid for their car 4 years earlier, ~$25K.
      I reckon right about 2014 is when these cars already started to appreciate.
