You videos are great, Bruce. I've learned a lot watching yours, and others. I just finished rebuilding my 1998 Tecumseh LEV100. Few people would rebuild a 22 year old, 3.5 HP lawn mower engine, but I did. The most interesting part was rebuilding the carburetor!
Bruce: an observation from my honda mower. The recoil is rotated to the wrong side of the mower. It should allow you to pull from the carb side of the mower. You put your foot on the black pad on the deck on the carb side when you pull the recoil rope. That way is safer as your foot will not slip on the sloped surface on the "wrong" side. Great detective job on that mower spark plug and blade adapter. Love those Hondas. They run forever with a little TLC.
How's she goin'? There was a good collection of 'goo' in that carb bowl!!! I think you have the blade on the right way too. Good thing you checked the plug. The wrong plug could have caused damage later on down the road. Thanks for posting and take care!!
Bruce. Nice job . My Honda only lasted 33 years . Now it's starting to smoke . They told the warranty is up . They just keep running when you take care of them , with the proper parts and regular p.m.i. Thanks
Wow, more wrong with it than I thought. As that plug was coming out I was afraid it was cross threaded but thank goodness it was not. Carb. definitely needed cleaning so great job with that. Once again fantastic job. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
Got one of these mowers free today. Had spark but didn’t want to fire when I added gas directly into carb. Decided to let it go for parts considering deck has a hole in it. Too many projects to get wrapped up in junk.
Hi but the pressure machine is electrical but that it turns on by the paragon and it doesn’t then it turns on when you press the trigger and it shuts off and turns on and it shuts off and it takes a long time it won’t stop when you press the gun won’t stop so that’s the problem that has so I need to and I did what should it be it’s electrical OK thank you with her answering me take care bye
Dude I have a sr214. It did not come with the OEM carb. I have had 3 different carbs on this thing and it won’t start. But will start on spray. Has great spark. New fuel line. Tanks is clean and gas is flowing. Any ideas?
@@BrucesShop I have not. I’m almost wondering too if it has low compression? I have t checked the compression yet which I should have. Sometimes you get so wrapped up you forget lol
Good detective work on the blade and finding the wrong plug ..A friend got a motor cycle that was locked up when you turned it over ..It had too long of plug in it
Thanks for video Bruce, great catch on the blade. We just got back from the BadLands where we got to meet our newest granddaughter, one day when we head that way again will have to drop over and say hello to you and the misses.
7 dollars a can for the spray, wow, I pay at Wal Mart here in the states about 2.89 for a can of carb and choke cleaner. Wow you guys are charge a lot up there buddy.

Very cool! I take on a few like that every year.
That Honda runs sweet as candy after a full service. Nice job, Bruce!
I really do like working on mowers

Each tear these old ones are getting more difficult to fix. Many more blade clutch issues this year.
Good job, Bruce! 👍 When “easy start” doesn’t mean “easy keep on going” 😂
I know. LOL

I was not 100 % sure about the plug but it wasn't what i use. thanks again Grampie.

They are great little machines.
How can anyone work with gloves on
Sometime i just feel i need to get away from the chemicals.
Nice win , Bruce ! 👍
Thanks again. Quite a few of these old Honda's coming out of sheds this year.
So interesting, eh !

Good move. Have you subbed?
? Not sure what you meant by subbed?
As always Bruce, you’re the King my friend 👍
Well I am not sure.
Nice little table behind you thats on wheels!
It is a lift Iove it.
Hi I need tip on pressure washer dus not work and it dus not stay on
If it is engine related (not starting it is most likely the carburettor.

Easy money eh!! Well done Bud!!☺
Thanks RK. These older mower are mostly metal. You might like them. They are tough (and heavy LOL)
Bruce I knew you were right about blade plate Honda gave you a dual blade option the plate was required for single blade use only
Right but t was still on the wrong side. thanks huck

Have you sprayed carb cleaner on the intake joints to check for a leak. BE CAREFUL!!!

That would've been a satisfying one to do Bruce...I bet the customer was happy
Yes He was.

I see that once in a while. I just took an auto plug out of a flathead Briggs ouch. Too long. Bevelled end too.
Nice I spy on that blade Bruce. You have it right now.
That is the second one like that in a month
Boom man oh man your working fast.. what plug was in it mate..
What is the wrong plug or the plug you don’t prefer 🤣
@@pattayperformance Well now if i remember it was a 12yc which are OK I guess but I prefer the NGK BPR6ES or 5Es.
I enjoyed the video. But I have to ask, Did your hands get cold half way through the video?
Did I spray them with carb spray? It does that.
I like your work
Thanks

Thanks Neil
That sure did run nice. Fix it right....customer for life! Well, most times.
You got that right!
I bought 8 cans for 4$ when on sale at Princessauto
Wow of the Kleen Flo???
@@BrucesShop yep 4.49 to be correct.
You are correct on the blades.
Thanks It did raise it to the ridge on the deck
nice Job bruce!!
Thanks Mr. Nash I always call you that.
Your the luckiest man in the World. Your wife mows the yard. My wife says, "you don't wash the cloths and I don't mow the yard."
That does work though.
I'm compelled to drive to Canada so Bruce and work on my mower... :)
Well Idon't know where you are but I am 2600 miles from the eastern seaboard.

Yes i know
Nice video Bruce
thanks again Tom
Jelly in the carb bowl, hmmmm. ;)
Yuck eh. I am lucky to get 87 octane with no ethanol. For my own stuff. The customers don't usually do that.
I have not had very good luck with Honda motors.
I really have. their carbs are complicated to assemble and mount on the block though
My “mower shop “ Toro has outlasted all the Honda’s in the neighborhood. It’s going on 19 years.
